Hi im new to Sonos, just purchased a beam, two ones and a sub. Is it possible to add the Phillips Hue to thew system without the hue bridge? Thanks Daniel

Hi, I have been spending a lot of time trying to create a simple and easy way to get IFTTT integration working. I know a few people would really like to have an easy way to get that, so here is one solution (the best, in my opinion, of course): http://www.bronos.net/ It is basically the combination of a locally hosted machine (preferably a raspberry pi), which connects to a public broker server on the internet and waits for commands that you issue from IFTTT. To achieve this previously, you needed very tedious "hacks" using dropbox and various python scripts, or my HTTP API but dealing with port forwards, dynamic DNS hostnames and even your own SSL certificates. With this you flash an SD-card with everything pre-installed, visit the local website to get knowledge about which will be your unique, public URL endpoint, and use that in your IFTTT webhooks. If-This-Then-That (IFTTT) integration could be cool. You could expose playlists to IFTTT as either triggers and/or actions. Use cases could be when a certain playlist is started trigger lights (via WeMo or Hue). So for lighting, a "Dinner" playlist could set a particular light pattern via Hue, or turn off some lights and dim others. You could also start a playlist when motion is detected via a WeMo motion detector, or when a switch is turned on, start a playlist. You could use a special playlist to provide a house-wide audio notifier of new emails, Facebook/Twitter/app.net mentions, or Google Calendar events.

Hi all. Tom B an excellent support guy from Sonos suggested I post this here as he knows the tech guys keep an eye on the forums for ideas and problems. I suggested to him that as I live in a townhouse and have speakers throughout we cannot here our door bell while music is on through our system. So.............I would like to see a Sonos doorbell that feeds through the speakers when someone presses it, perhaps loweting the volume a little as it does so that the bell is obvious over the underlying music. Do you want when you get home (location aware), a specific music (list/radio) automatically play + a light scenario on? Of course you want... Great news: 0 costs and it can be done easily. Maybe a lot of you already have Sonos + Philips Hue... And we know that Sonos does not work yet with Apple Homekit... Boom!...just install Yonomi app or Gideon app and all above it can be achieved centralized without any further hardware. You don't find this solution over the internet (in this moment). You just to be lucky to discover it. I was lucky yesterday, I am very happy with it and I wanted to share with you... By the way, a smart plug (for thermostat, non-smart lights, etc.) that you wish to work with above apps is Belkin Wemo. Minim system requirements: a smartphone, almost any Sonos device, Philips Hue device. Optional -> Belkin Wemo smart plug. Have a nice life 🙂.

I know there are a few ways to link up IFTTT with songs using servers and raspberry pi's etc but realistically if SONOS just linked with IFTTT it would make this a lot simpler? And would bring an awesome smart speaker system in to the smart home world.

I was doing a little research on Sonos and Amazon Echo integration. Most of the articles talk about how Sonos will support Alexa in 2017. That the integration will be impressive and the two services will work seamlessly. The thing is, I've already found two ways to get Sonos working with Alexa right now. IFTTT; If This Then That: Offers users a way to integrate various web based services together in really dynamic ways. Put simply can create simple recipes made of two ingredients. A) The Trigger 😎 The Action. For example; if it rains, text me a message that's raining outside. I saw a few recipes on IFTTT for controlling sonos, but there is one major issue with IFTTT at this time. If I use Alexa to send a command via IFTTT it can take quite a while to arrive on the other end. First Alexa interprets my voice command, then it gets sent to IFTTT's servers, IFTTT then tells the desired service to activate. This can take a lot longer than you migh

Are there any Keyless Doorlocks on the market yet that are compatible with Sonos & the Sonos app?

Am I alone with the iPort Xpress? I've rubbish battery life and there is no visible support! Using the voucher for my CR100's I got one of these to try. I've never had anything like the suggested 3 months battery life, not even a full 24 hours from a full charge. It frequently loses connection despite me using commercial grade Meraki access points throughout the house. It was to be the hardware 'pause' button for my office, a quick method of stopping Sonos if the phone rings but is unusable for such function with the frequent dropouts. iPort Support is non existent and Sonos support, despite being the retailer, just point me in their direction. Someone tell me its just unlucky and their iPort lasts ages on a charge. (Don't get me started on £100 for it, if it was my cash I'd be gutted as the unit feels like a cheap £30 item)

This may have been answered before but rather than having to find phone and go to app, select radio station etc I'd love to be able to have a dedicated switch which always turns Sonos onto my radio station of choice. Sometimes I turn my Sonos on only to find it's playing something different. Rather than having to find my phone I'd love to be able to switch channels from the unit. Any ideas? Thanks.
