Hi all,

i have a beam gen2, sub mini and era 100s as surround. Overall i enjoy my investment and i was one of the few lucky one didnt get effected from app debacle. My living room for this setup isnt big. 4.5x3.8m.
inread a lot about if it’s a smaller living room sub gen3 is overkill but i wondered iff there is anyone out there tried both? Or there is a certain “feel” of difference between the both ?

best

A subwoofer is going to sound different for everyone because of their unique setup, room environment, and personal audio preferences. The best way to know for sure is to try it out for yourself. You will have 30 days to return it if you don’t think it is worth it.

The nature of sound waves is such that the placing of a Sub or Sub Mini can make big differences to the bass effects.
You might want to try moving your Sub Mini to different places in the room first. Plug it into a long power extension cable to make it easier to move it about.

I’ll do that. Thanks for suggestions. Just to clarify, i am happY with sub mini. I was curious if there is a significant difference between mini and gen3.

thanks

I’d think there would be a pretty good difference given the specs on each. I don’t have a mini to play with though.

I do have a Gen 1 Sub in a 3x3 m room and it is cranked well down so it doesn’t overpower the space. But in a similar sized room with a lot of soft surfaces and/or a taller ceiling it might be a better fit than the mini.

Never heard the Sub Mini, but I do have the Gen 3 which sounds great in my somewhat largish room.  Maybe, If your room is average size consider a second Sub Mini.  In a smaller room 2 subs help to minimize frequency nodes.  In a larger room 1 sub is usually enough.  I know… that makes no sense but it works.

You can only use 1 Sub Mini in a room - there’s no option to add a second.
