Can I get TV Audio from Arc to AirPlay 2 Receiver or is Sonos Port Required
I’m trying to figure out exactly what I need. I have a TV with an eARC connection. I also have in-ceiling speakers throughout the house and on the patio. I’m trying to get the TV audio to the in-ceiling speakers (in sync). I have already ordered a Sonos Arc with sub package and a Move (for a room with no in-ceiling speakers). I also already have a Belkin Soundform (Airplay 2 receiver) that is connected to the amp feeding the in-ceiling speakers and an Apple HomePod Mini (it is my HomeKit Hub; I hardly ever use it for audio). I’m wondering whether I can get audio from the Arc to the Soundform to play over the in-ceiling speakers. That would be ideal, as it wouldn’t require buying anything else or making anything redundant. If not, is the only solution a Sonos Port connected to the amp feeding the in-ceiling speakers? That would mean buying a Port and rendering the Soundform useless. Thanks in advance. I appreciate how helpful everyone here is. Will
New S2 component with exitsting S1 config
I have a S1 setup, of which some parts are S2 compatibe, and some not.I am happy with this. I am operating this with the S1 app on my iPad.I want to buy a beam, gen 2. This requires S2. I accept that this willbe an isolated system. Can I install this by just installing the S2 app, and adding the new beam?
Virgin 360 dialogue sync issues with Beam
Hi,Hi, Been using Virgin Media V6 with a Beam and Ones for surround. No issues at all. Virgin recently upgraded firmware to their V360. Since then, I have dialogue synch issues. Some channels it’s hardly noticeable and other channels are unwatchable. Virgin have no idea. Sonos support ran diagnostics and said there were no issues.Turned off Dolby (Virgin forum suggestion) but it made no difference.Anyone got similar problems?
Beam no longer auto-selects source
Ever since the last update a couple weeks ago, my beam (gen 1) no longer automatically selects my TV as its source. Prior to the update, whenever I switched input on my tv, my beam would continue to stream audio from my TV seamlessly, eg switching from freeview to nvidia shield would not affect the audio output. But now, everytime I switch input, my beam deselects TV as the source, causing the audio output to stop. I then have to open up the slow-loading app and manually select TV as the source. This happens everytime i switch input, and the only way to get back audio is through the app. Am I doing something wrong/is there a way to fix this? Its very inconvenient
Arc surrounding speaker placement different depth
Hi, was wondering if it’d be possible to put the rear surround speakers at different distances to the sitting position. Right one about 3 ft back and to the side. and the left one about 9-10 ft behind. Both at about the same height. Is there a way to run optimization for that or would the sound be weird? Please let me know if anyone has tried it. Thanks!
Arc Went “POP” and Went Quiet
Last night, while watching a movie on Netflix, we heard a loud “POP”! At first we thought it came from the fireplace, but we quickly realized that nothing was coming from the Arc center channel. The Sub and rear speakers were performing as expected, but the Arc was dead silent. The app did not indicate any issues with the setup and the Arc indicator lights were working. I even tried to activate the voice assistant. Alexa appeared to be responding, but silently, with sounds coming from the Arc. I feared the worse, but after unplugging the Arc from the power source, and plugging it back in, things went back to functioning normally. I am just curious if anyone else had experienced this. Should I be worried? Arc + Sub + SL+ SR
Mounting Sonos Playbar Above TV
Hello - Has anyone mounted their Playbar above the TV? How’d it work out? How much above eye/ear level have you done it/how much space between top of Playbar and shelf (or ceiling) is required? Any issues with top of Playbar being too close to shelf/ceiling above (causing distortion of the sound waves or over-heating)? I am considering moving the Playbar above the TV (which is on an extendable mount that comes out of a recess in the wall).
Synchronized audio and video to multiple television sets
I have several rooms in my house connected to my SONOS system. My TV room television is connected to a Playbar. I have added a TV in the kitchen and often would like to see and hear on the kitchen set the same content playing on the TV room set. If I add a Beam to the kitchen set would it be possible to synchronize streaming video and audio to both sets?
Arc Soundbar disconnect
Here is the setup. Five Sonos One V3 speakers, one Arc Soundbar + Sub WooferThe condition: I start playing music (Pandora) using either the Sonos ios app or using Google Assistant, i.e. “Play Pandora music” If in the Sonos app all devices had been selected before starting the music all is fine and music plays throughout the house. I later stop playing Pandora i.e. “OK Google, stop the music” Later when I turn on the TV (connected to the soundbar via HDMI ARC), all is fine and TV audio plays correctly though the soundbar. The problem is when you turn off the TV, the soundbar will not re-connect to the rest of the speakers in it’s group. You must manually open the Sonos app to reconnect it to the other speakers. The soundbar does have a selectable settings under “Home Theater”. The first setting, “TV Autoplay” does just that. When the TV is turned on the soundbar automatically connects to the TV. The second option is “ungroup on autoplay”. This prevents the TV audio from pl
Arc periodically losing power
I’ve had my Arc since they came out. Over the last 4-6 weeks with TV - LG OLED B9. on I noticed the sound would stop 1-2x per week. At first I thought it was the station but I’d change the TV sound output to TV and I’d not only hear sound, but after a 2-3 minutes the sound would switch back to the ARC. I’ve since noticed that when this happens, the ARC doesn’t respond to Alexa, is not showing in the app and there are no lights on. It just happened again and after switching the TV output, it switched back after ~5 min. I’ve noticed similar complaints. What’s the remedy?
Issues since update
Since the latest update I’ve been having trouble with my devices. My Beam does not play sound from TV when it is turned on. Each time I must reboot the TV or the Beam. The Beam disappears from my Sonos app and I must re-add it every single time. My Arc also disappears from my app, but Im not having the connection to TV problem.
Arc Wall Mount detection- any way to disable?
I’ve had the Arc with official Sonos wall mount for a bit over a year now, and this entire time I’ve had intermittent issues with crackling during sounds that have high bass. Doing some googling, I learned that the mount changes the EQ to reduce wall resonance. I’d like to try disabling this, but the magnets in the wall mount are getting in the way. Short of getting a mount without magnets (or hacking up the Sonos one), anyone know an existing way to disable it?If not, to Sonos engineering: can you please give us the option to force-disable this wall-mount EQ adjustment in software? Or even better, let us adjust the level of its impact with a slider.
Any Dolby Atmos audio drops after about 20 minutes
Hello,I have a Sonos Arc connected to my 2021 LG G1 television via the eARC HDMI cable that was provided with the soundbar. My system includes two Sonos Ones for surround and the Sonos sub. Over the last couple weeks, any Dolby Atmos content drops out after about 20 minutes. In order to get the sound back, I need to either unplug the HDMI cable and reconnect it, or switch to a different HDMI input and back to the original input via the TV remote. This happens when using the Xbox Series X via HDMI, or when using the Apple TV with any streaming services broadcasting in Atmos. I have tried several online troubleshooting steps such as: a different HDMI cable, unplugging the system and disconnecting the HDMI for several minutes and rebooting, turning off TV autoplay, disabling HDMI-CEC, disabling the TV’s wireless adapter and probably other things I am forgetting. It still seems to be happening without fail about every 20 minutes or so. in the TV settings I have it set to eARC on and I’ve t
Beam Turns Off TV
Ever since I set up my Beam last week, my TV turns off randomly every so often. I have tried a number of fixes that I have researched such as turning off auto play, Alexa, CEC, etc. None of these have any effect and the tv continues to turn itself off. The TV auto shut down is off and I never experienced this issue once before setting up the Beam.
Monitor with 1 hdmi connected to Chromecast Ultra (HDMI) and Sonos Beam gen 2
Hello! I have to connect a monitor which only has 1 HDMI port to both Chromecast Ultra with HDMI port and Sonos Beam with HDMI cable. I have tried with a HDMI splitter out of the screen but it does not work. Any suggestion?
Rear Sonos One Speaker height
Hey all, joined the Sonos family today!Beam Gen 2 and 2 x Sonos one SL.The rear speakers are on my back wall which my sofa backs directly onto.I have placed them about a foot above seated head height. Is this optimal? Or would ear level be better? Also they are on a shelf, should they be angled down? thanks in advance
Fix for Sonos Beam and LG CX OLED via HDMI-ARC loosing connection
I hesitate to even suggest this solution, as for many months my LG CX 55 inch OLED (OLED55CXAUA) randomly stopped outputting ARC audio to my [Sonos Beam Gen1 + Play:1x2] system requiring me to physically unplug the Beam’s HDMI cable from HDMI Port 2 on the TV multiple times a week. The TV would just output to its internal speakers while completely ignoring the Sonos setup until I re plugged it in. I was getting to the point of worrying about the TV’s HDMI port 2 getting worn out.All prior suggested solutions on this website have been temporary at best, but I seem to have found a durable solution that has lasted me the past four weeks of regular usage, found by reading multiple posts about this issue and parsing together a solution through trial and error. Of note, I first thought this was an Apple TV / LG CX / Beam problem, but I have realized after changing multiple settings on my Apple TV 4K Gen 2 (tvOS 15.1 with output forced to Dolby 5.1) over many months that it was a red herring
Audio of Sony BRAVIA KD-50X80JP is really loud than normal soundbar services like apple music, alexa, streaming
Hi,I have a Beam soundbar, first model. I connected via HDMI ARC with Sony TV. In the TV audio I can select between Audio1, Audio2 and pcm. The pcm works, but I think I'm missing several sound effects, Dolby, etc. If I select audio1, which is the first choice in the sony audio menu, the volume of the tv is really loud! Undistorted, simply very loud compared to normal soundbar audio (Alexa, Apple Music). So, every time I turn on the tv, I have to turn down the volume, and every time I turn off the tv I have to turn up the volume, as the music or Alexa is very low. It is not possible to change the volume of the HDMI input when I select audio1, from the tv. Instead, this control becomes available with pcm, but as I said, pcm is the very last choice! I really don’t know what to do.Is it a Sony or Sonos issue?Do you have some solutions?Thank you!
Sonos Arc + Apple TV 4k Audio Dropping
Audio drops out randomly on Apple 4k TV. Usually happens when switching between applications (Netflix, Hulu, Etc.) or when first turning TV on. Now occurring in the middle of streaming. This is happening on a daily basis and I’m considering returning/selling my Sonos Arc. I’ve gone through all of the troubleshooting steps mentioned here, Setup:TCL 6-series 65R635Apple TV 4k (2nd Gen)Sonos Arc
How simple is it to switch between multi-room and home cinema?
Hi, I’ve had a search on the forums but couldn’t find this scenario discussed.I have a sonos beam in the living room, a One (gen 1) in another room and am thinking of getting another One (gen 2) in a third room. Is there a way to have these primarily in multi-room setting and then occasionally bring them into the living room to join up with the Beam on the TV for a surround sound setup for movie nights? I know this setup is possible in some way (with instructions on the page ‘Add surround speakers to a Sonos home theater’) but what I wanted to know is if this is a quick switch that can be done with a couple of clicks on the app each time? Or would it require re-pairing the speakers using the connection button and then re-creating the other rooms each time I move the speakers back (so basically would it take more like 30 seconds or 10 minutes to switch between these two setups?).Also, are there any issues with combining a One gen 1 and a One gen 2 in this way? Thanks!
