Beam receiving 5.1 but no surround sound
I have my beam connected to my Samsung TV via ARC, and confirmed in the Sonos app that the beam is receiving 5.1 when playing video. However, surround sound is not working with my connected pair of Sonos one SL (surround setup with Sonos app). For more context, I’m using the Netflix app on Samsung TV.
Connecting to internet using LAN port on Playbar
My setup is two 5.1 systems and three additional Play 1s. I use a Boost, wired to my router. Everything works as it should. I wonder if I can connect to the internet via the LAN port on the back of my Playbar. This might be a stronger connection for the smart TV in a room where the wifi is not as strong as the rest of the house
Can I Save and Switch Between TruePlay Profiles On My Soundbar?
I set up a Playbar in our barn as part of a home theater system. (The rec room is down there, so, no, it’s not for pigs or cows in the barn!) I remember going through the room with my phone to help the Playbar read the room and set things up. For various reasons, I may be replace the Playbar with an Arc. That would mean I could sell the Playbar or move it into my study.The issue with my study is that I have 3-4 different places where I’m sitting and would be listening to music or watching movies on the sofa. Is it possible to create some kind of profile for the Playbar for each of the locations I’ll be sitting in, so I can switch from one to the other, depending on where I’m sitting?
Sonos Arc loses connection to my Samsung Frame TV (one connect system)
The ARC lose connection to the TV when I play music and then want to then return to the TV or sometimes when the TV is turned on. The only way to fix it has been to unplug TV, ARC and HDMI cable. Is there a permanent fix to this issue as I have seen multiple threads similar to mine, and not only for Samsung TV’s.
Connecting Sonos Beam to a DLP projector
I dont seem to be able to get sound out of my Beam when I connect it to either my Blu Ray player or directly to my BenQ TK800 m projector. Is there an ‘idiots guide’ as not particularly technical! Both are new and I was expecting to be able to ‘plug and play’ but having read various posts I now realise it is more complicated than I thought. Thanks in anticipation for any help provided.
Sonos Beam unable to connect to WiFi
During the initial setup of Sonos Beam I am getting error: "Your Beam has been added but may not appear in the System tab … ” After checking the admin panel of WiFi router, I can see that the Beam has never connected to router - it is not listed in DHCP nor in connected devices. I have tried restarting router and Sonos, resetting to factory settings, Reset App etc. Nothing helps. However I was able to setup the Beam succesfully with my friends router. It appears that Sonos does not like my router. It is Huawei HG8245H. Support diagnostic: 1238854072. Any other device (laptops, smartphones, TV, XBOX) connects to the router without any issues.
Unable to use any Sonos product
I’ve got a ply 5 and arc which over the last few weeks I have nothing but issues with when trying to stream to them from Spotify but also when trying to use via the Sonos app. I have hard reset numerous times and after each time it works as it should for a few days and then stops again. I’ve tried another router, another device with a fresh install of the app, different Spotify versions from diff devices.Sonos app either can’t see the devices or when it does see them it send the music and starts to play but then stops however the app shows it has still playing. if I then try to chance the track is states unable to communicate with the device. Something seriously is wrong with the firmware on these devices given the issues I have been facing. I have created a diagnostic reports 1221722172 - one created where it can see the devices.1437137898 - created after it fails to load tracks from spotify1613459050 - factory reset on play 5 and readded1916671189 - sending Spotify tracks to play
Inverse of Amp? Use both Beam and dumb speakers for TV audio?
I just bought a house that has existing in-ceiling dumb speakers, and I have a Beam. What I don’t have is $650 for an Amp (I just bought a damn house, I have negative money!). I don’t really need to connect the in-ceiling speakers to my Sonos system; is there a cheaper alternative that allows me to use the beam and the dumb speakers together just for TV audio?
Help Needed: Trueplay with large oddly shaped basement
Hi All,I likely have the worst acoustic space known to man. My Sonos Arc SL is mounted on the edge of an entertainment center, roughly 26 inches up from the floor. It sits a good 14 inches from the wall. Please see pictures of my room but here are the rough dimensions. Room is probably 50 feet long (from Sonos, straight out to the far wall).There are several posts throughout the room. The room width is roughly 30 feet.My chairs are probably 8 feet from the Sonos and are directly in front of it. I have Sofa’s on each side but they are not the primary sitting area.Ceiling is roughly 9 feet.Standing in front of hte Sonos, the right side is open another 14 feet until the wall.Here are my questions:How should I run the second part of the true play calibration? Just around my sitting area or try to go to all edges of the wall on the ends of the basement? Per the Peter Pee video, should I angle my Arc soundbar a bit to get better ATMOS. Sonos Arc no sound with Samsung Frame TV
Hello all, Recently got Samsung The Frame (2020) and Sonos ARC. Sound started cutting out for 10 seconds then playing one second of sound in loops like that. many hours to both companies support. Both made me do hard updates. No real change. No fix. Does anyone know if this is fixable. Actually fixable. I want to keep the arc but if it don’t work I have to take it back before my return policy runs out. Many posts on here about it but all 6 months or more ago. thank you for any insight.
How to connect Arc with ceiling speaker
Hi.I don't have any sonos speakers so far, but I'm designing an installation in my new home and would like to use a sonos system. I wonder how to prepare the installation for sonos arc, sonos sub, and two ceiling speakers so that it is connected to the TV.What will I need to keep everything running afterwards?Internet socket to conect sonos amp, wires from audio speakers to amp. Setting Up Arc - stuck at audio connection
New Sonos Arc continues to get stuck in set up with “Audio System not connected message” after repeated attempts with our Sony Bravia BR-65X900E (circa 2016/2017, Arc but no eArc).Have disconnected all cables, rebooted the Arc, deleted and reinstalled the Sonos 2 app, started from scratch 3 times now - so so frustrating.Do I need to go spend another $200 on the HD Fury Arcana thing that’s on backorder?TV was working fine with an older Samsung soundbar - the Arc was supposed to be an upgrade, not an installation hassle/nightmare.Thanks for any guidance. Do these things just not work with Sony tvs?
Sonos Arc cuts out sound when commercials come on
That may seem to be a blessing but it is a problem. I’ve got Xfinity on multiple Samsung TVs and only the one attached to my Arc has the problem. Particularly on NBC. The broadcast will go fine but when it cuts to commercials, the sound will cut out. After the commercials end and the main broadcast comes back, the sound pops back up. Also, same symptom on CBS. Never had the problem on other cable channels as yet. The audio on the Samsung is set to Sound Output → Receiver (HDMI-eARC). Under Expert Settings HDMI-eARC Mode is set to AUTO and Digital Output Audio Format is set to Pass-Through. I’ve seen a number of topics, but I didn’t see one that matched this symptom. Seemed to start a week or so ago, but, to my recollection, I had not made any configuration changes during that time frame.
Can the Connect be used with/paired to the Arc?
I just bought an Arc with the One SLs to make a 5.1 channel system. I have a Klipsch sub from an old system. Can the Connect be used to pair up to the Arc? Is that possible? I couldn’t find anything online around that. I don’t want to drop $600 plus on the Amp. I might as well just buy the Sonos sub. specifically for that price. Any insight is appreciated!
Beam has problem connecting to TV due to "interference"
I am documenting a problem with setting up my Beam, to which I devoted half a day of my time and found two semi-satisfactory solutions.Problem: When I attempt to connect my Beam to my Sony Bravia TV via the HDMI-ARC, the Sonos app says there is “interference” and that I should disconnect other home theater devices. The only other device I am connected to is my Arris cable box (Suddenlink) via HDMI so I unplug that, and the Beam connects to my TV. Then I plug the cable box back in. At that point, the Beam works, and volume can be controlled from the Sony remote. However, within a few minutes (or sooner than that, if I turn the TV off and back on) the TV starts kicking me out of the Beam and back to TV audio. Then the Beam needs to be set up again. Very frustrating.Solution One (Sonos tech support): connect Beam via optical audio adapter instead of HDMI-ARC. This works and is stable… but the TV volume can only be controlled via the Sonos app, not via the TV remote. The TV happens

Hi,we got 6 speakers:1 x beam3 x ikea symfonisk1 x Sonos One1 x Sonos Play 1 One of the speakers are attached to the router via Ethernet.all is updated and we use the new Sonos app on 4 different iOS units.Every time we open the app, not all speakers shows. The speakers that show is different from time to time.I can start and stop music on all speakers directly, so they are on WiFi.All speakers have a static IP address
Sonos setup keep losing connection
Hi All,I am having issues with my Sonos system and to be honest I have tried everything I can think off. This is my last Hope before I stick it all on eBay. So I have a Sonos Beam and two Sonos play ones( 2nd gen) in my living room. The two play ones act as surrounds for the beam. However every single day after approx 6 hours, the Sonos system complains it has no internet connection (via google assistant), when it complains the two play ones drop all sound and do nothing. However the beam still works but can’t voice control it. The system, is connected wirelessly via a WiFi 6 router, using DHCP and IP address reservation. When the sonos complains it has no internet connection, I can see in my router the Sonos system is connected and has been given the right IP address. All other devices in my network can access the internet fine. in the Sonos app, it tells me that the two play ones (LS + RS) are not configured. Arc + Sub Not Waking
Hi All, I recently purchased my Arc + Sub. It sounds great, but at random times, both Arc and Sub will not give me any sound until I physically unplug and then plug it back in. At first, I thought it was an eArc issue, but it doesn’t even show up in the Sonos app for me to play music either. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
TV not turning off/turning back on again
Hey guys, I have the issue that after turning the tv off via remote control the screen goes black but the status light of the tv still indicates it’s on. After some time the screen is grey and ON. This started happening after connecting the Sonos Arc to the tv. I’ve tried a couple of settings in the App such as TV Autoplay on/off and carious combinations of remote control settings. No luck so far with this issue.Can anyone help?
WIFI on Sonos Sub Gen 3
So last week I updated the firmware on my router and it for whatever reason it dropped the Sub. How exactly does this work, I thought the SUB builds a mesh network with the ARC and only uses the local wifi for setup. On the App it showed ARC (+?) I had to basically reset the Sub and re-pair it from scratch. Is this going to happen every time I update my router?
New Sonos Beam & (2) Ones customer
I ordered a Beam and 2 Ones for a home theater setup mainly for music streaming, along with watching some movies in surround. The Beam got lost in the mail so I received the 2 One’s first. Easy to setup. I set them up as stereo speakers and they sounded great. Finally, a few days later, my Beam arrived. I found to add the speaker, I had to break the stereo setup (in Sonos app) and then I could add them to the Beam as surround speakers.Here’s the issue. I don’t think it sounds as good. With just the two One’s the sound seemed to be coming from everywhere and was crystal clear. Now they are configured as rears, seems that most of the sound comes from the Beam and the One’s are really low. The sound seems to mainly be coming from the Beam and not traveling the room anymore. Am I doing something wrong? Do the One’s just have better fidelity? Thanks for your help.
