why spotify?

It seems very limiting to me and I would of prefer if Sonos let you know in advance that your primary music source comes from Spotify and not from whatever you like to play from your phone.Spotify to me is very limited and hard to search for songs, always throw more modern versions of the songs not the original and if a musician is not on Spotify you won't find the song you are looking for.Youtube video is much preferred for me as I can find any songs that comes to my mind, plus the autoplay is way better than Spotify and remembers your preferred style of songs, Spotify autoplay is not smart this way and it just keeps throwing horrible songs.So now I have to play music from my computer not from my phone.

Sonos + The Frame + Sony turntable

Hi, I’m having in mind using Sonos Ray along with my The Frame TV (digital optical connection) and in the same room there will be Sonos Five connected to Sony turntable via 3.5mm port. Given the presence of both speakers in the room, I would want to use both Five and Ray on a basis of Sonos app for both TV and turntable. Do you see any issues with this setup?Note: I know that this is not an ideal home theater solution, but that is not the plan here - we have projector in another room which serves as our home theater and there we will go for more typical setup (Arc etc.). Also, there are some limitations in terms of interior design which prevent us using anything else than Ray.  i

SONOS ridiculous minimum sound

Hi SONOS R&D,I didn’t understand why minimum music was so loud lately until I got to this forum and read what the actual problem seems to be. What I ‘d like to say about that is. Just fix it. Speakers simply get useless at the moment since that minimum is so loud.

Alarm - Setting Up, Editing, and Deleting

Using S2 - 15.7.1Every time we try to add, delete, or edit an alarm it locks up the app and you have to close it, then reopen it. This just started happening. Is this an issue with the latest version of the app?

Can you combine a Sonos connect amp with 2 speakers to additional Sonos One speakers?

I have a Sonos connect amp with two KRK Rockit speakers connected to it.  Can I pair or add any additional Sonos One speakers with the Sonos connect amp?  I’m not referring to grouping them but rather more like a pairing.-Thanks

Lip Sync Playbase issue but only with BBC

I know this is weird but its also real and annoying. Since since up  There was an issue with lip sync.  Part of the problem was I have lip sync “changers” on my Sky Q box, my television and the sonos app.Last night I had to take this in hand and try to sort it.  I put all three lip sync changers back to zero and concentrated on only using the TV one.   In short it sort of worked.  Every channel is now OK apart from BBC1 which is out of sync.  I cannot understand how a single channel can be acting differently to all the others.  Trouble is we watch BBC1 quite a bit.Anybody know a solution?

Working of HDMI ARC

Questions on HDMI ARCIn moving around some old but excellent Panasonic TVs, including a plasma, I found that the headphone jack of the high end plasma from 2011 does not cut out TV speakers when active speakers are wired to it. A later 2018 budget Panasonic TV did just that and I was able to use just the Firestick remote to control sound levels from the external speakers with the TV speakers bypassed, therefore silent. By using the headphone jack on that budget TV. A lot of googling teaches that this 2011 behaviour is normal for Panasonic and not to be defeated.Now, on the 2011 plasma, I have to dial down the TV speakers to zero and bump up the volume on the active speakers via their controls. Clunky, but two remotes now needed because the addition of the TV speakers degrades the overall sound quality. On the other hand, the plasma of 2011, has 4 HDMI inputs, of which one - HDMI 2 - is said to be HDMI ARC. Not “e Arc”, just ARC.Questions now: if I wire a Atmos capable Firestick to HDMI

multi room in same room (ARC AMP)

Hello, I currently don’t have sonos system and i am watching for the best system for my needs so i read about each systems.. i have a room to watch the TV, in this room (if i go with sonos) i will put:ARC 2x ERA 100 as surround SUB But just behind this « room » i have the dinning room in the same physical room, where i want to put 4x Focal 300 ICW8 speakers (with sonos AMP) During the parties i want to play music from youtube in the whole room, so ARC and AMP grouped I know that with sonos system there is a delay when the ARC HDMI is used as source and when the arc is grouped with another rooms (because speakers directly link to the arc need to be fast and responsive, but for the multiroom it require some latency for perfect synchronisation) So, i am asking if it is possible or not to add a audio delay, to force the audio synchronisation of grouped rooms and loose the video synchronisation? Typically for listening youtube videos from the TV it’s not very important if video is not synce

sonos app on ios 16.6.1 frequently showing cannot connect

Hi, I have a Sonos  arc and subwoofer. I have the Sonos app running on ios 16.6.1. The app very frequently disables the Account, System, Services and Voice and shows the cannot connect to the arc and subwoofer. There will be a period of minutes and then it will enable the options and then connect or ask me if I want to reconnect everything. In the mean time I am listening to something on the arc so actual playback is not affected. It seems as though there is a periodic connectivity issue between app and Sonos system which is frustrating when I want to use the app to change songs. I have ensured in iOS that the Sonos app has Local Network enabled but that in itself hasn’t fixed it. Anyone any ideas please?

SoundCloud Likes missing

My SoundCloud Likes are no longer loading in the Sonos app. I get an “Unable to browse music” screen. This has been going on for several day despite me reauthorizing my SoundCloud account on the Sonos app.

roam not connecting to new wifi

Moved to new house, new wifi.  Settings has top 3 options (including “system” grayed out).  Says “unable to connect to Sonos let’s fix it” and “use sonos roam on new network”.  I’ve tried both of these options and followed the instructions.  Eventually they both say: “Sonos not found. Make sure you're signed in and your mobile device is connected to the internet and on the same WiFi as Sonos.”  All of that is accurate except sonos is obv not on the same wifi as my phone — that’s precisely the point I’m trying to resolve, so I don’t really understand that error message.  Have spent over an hour on this and have computer science background; not sure what I’m missing here. help please, and thank you so much in advance!!

Airplay unable to connect to Play:5

Hi, My Play:5 keeps getting the error message ‘Unable to connect to "Living Room”’.  I have:Restarted all devices and tried to AirPlay again Switched-off Bluetooth and tried with BT on Turned off Cellular Data on iPhone but same on non-cellular iPad  I am not connected to any Bluetooth devices  I am connected to the same WiFi Reset my network settings on my iDevices Reset Network Settings Disabled ‘Private Address’ in the iOS Network connection  Disabled WiFi calling I am on latest iOS, Sonos app and speaker firmware/software Tried both hard wire (CAT 5) and Wi-Fi  Rebooted the router and all Sonos speakers Disabled VPN software on the sending deviceI have even reset the Play:5 to factory settings and reinstalled on system which does work and I can use AirPlay for a day or two then back to ‘Unable to connect to "Living Room”’.I can AirPlay to Apple HomePod no problem. I can use Spotify connect to Play:5 no problem. My submitted diagnostic confirmation number is 1692353740.Any help grat

Je possède une barre de son beam 2 et une enceinte era 300. Je souhaite surtout écouter de la musique en streaming et aussi améliorer le son de la TV sans pour autant rechercher à tout prix l'effet surround. Ou dois je placer l'enceinte era 300 à côté de la TV ou à l'arrière ? Merci

Moving Sonos and MP3 Files to new Laptop - Can't now find MP3 Files

Hi.I have a Sonos 2 soundbars I can access and control it from my Android phone and my Old Windows Laptop.On my old Windows Laptop I have a music folder of MP3 files. I can play these files through my sonos from my Android Phone and Old Laptop.I now have a new windows laptop which I've installed Sonos onto and I can play radio stations and control which Room/Soundbar the music goes to etc.I've transferred the MP3 files from the old laptop to the new ones into a MUSIC folder. In Sonos app on the new laptop, I’ve added the MUSIC folder Sonos etcHowever I now can't see these MP3 files when I use my Android phone.I think I've missed an important setup step to allow my phone to see these files and play them.I can play them fine when playing direct from the new laptop windows Sonos appWhat do I need to do to allow my phone to see the music files on my New Windows laptop. I assume I need to set Sonos to share these files?

What sub to choose

Hi all Good PeopleIn here i have an opertunety to bother all of you with all sorts of questions,so you just need to deal with me🤣🤣🤣.Still struggeling with my livingroom on my 1.floor. I have some Ikea BookShelf(BS) in the corners behind the sofa. Still seach for a soundbar,but most likely it’s gonna be a Ray or a Playbase. Then my wonder will be…..what sub would i seach for.I am a person who find good deals….used,outlet or new.I have not heard the Sub Mini play in real life,but i got a couple of Gen3’s.For me my choice depending on the price of the unit. A new Mini is $470,outlet is $400 and used(secound hand) $385-ishGen3 is $840 new,$720 on outlet and $650 used.Gen2 is normally $450-$550 used,but hard to get in white.So for me it makes the most sense to get a Gen3 from Outlet,and it justefy the $ extra from a Sub Mini.But even the Sub Mini is cheeper,it seems to hold up with the Gen3 pretty good. I’m not getting into spec and so on,but i belive there’s discovered that the Mini got

sound cutting out/in

I’ve seen a number of posts related to this but am not sure they address my situation. I have a pretty straightforward system with three Connect :Amps ( 3 zones). All hardwired. 6 years old. About two months ago, sound started cutting out/ in when playing music but not tv through line in. Any suggestions? Thanks

sonos connect keeps disconecting from network

I have a sonos connect that keeps disconnecting from the sonos app and our network. I go in and factory reset it, reconnect it to our sonos account, play music on our hard wired speakers for maybe a minute or two and all or a sudden the sonos connect can not be found and the music stops. Any suggestions for how to fix? I did send a diagnostic ticket to sonos 1066180950.

problems with a non compatible speaker which blocks update to S2

I have bought  New speakers and Updated to S2. One of the speakers is now deemed in compatibleand it blocks updates. Also I can’t disconnect it since my original app now immediately transfer me to S2

Roam no sound

My new Roam doesn’t make any sound. The app says it’s connected, and when I play a song, the small gif of playing music (in the app) indicates music is playing (it actually is if I add another speaker) but on its own, the roam is silent. The lights are on, it has 25% charge, but it just doesn’t play. It’s on the same network as all my other speakers. Any ideas please? Thanks

setting up home theater

Hi. I’m moving. At my current tv location I have a beam bonded with two ones and a sub. At my new location it had wired passive speakers as ceiling rears and wiring for front speakers. I’ve bought a Sonos amp and trying to determine the best combo. Can I blend my current Sonos setup with the passive speakers using the amp? If so, any recommended setups?
