Since updating I've noticed a sudden drop in volume.First noticed it while listing to Apple music. a short way into a song the volume dropped, I turned it up and it happend again. Didn't think too much of it.But then it happened while watching TV, so I turned the volume up, then a few seconds later the volume shot back up.Anyone else noticed this?Any thoughts?Hope it's just the update.Jon Izzard
I have a Playbar, Sub, and 2 Play:1s combination. The TV I have is old and specifically restricts devices input directly to the TV via HDMI as only being output via optical in 2.0 PCM. Not very unusual with older TVs. I’m getting sound from the Play:1s. What exactly is the Playbar outputting to the surrounds? Stereo? Some kind of matrixed surround similar to Prologic II? I’m not dissatisfied with the sound. I’m just curious what’s going on with this configuration. If I got a TV that passed through Dolby Digital 5.1 via optical what would the Playbar do with that? Is it going to sound markedly better than whatever it’s doing with 2.0? I’m not really all that amped up about Atmos or anything like that yet. 5.1 and 1080p are just fine for now. This room is pretty much exclusively for streaming. Most surround programming is DD+. Something tells me that since my Roku senses what my playback device will process, that it will only send 2.0 PCM out anyway since it doesn’t transcode
Hello everyone. Quick question about speaker placement as I am fairly new to Sonos. I recently upgraded to the arc ultra, gen 4 sub, 1 pair of Fives and 1 pair of Era 300 from 1 pair of one SL and 1 pair of Era 100. Below is the open concept floor plan. I plan on using the arc and sub for home theater and the Fives and Era 300 for playing music. The arc would go below the TV on the unit and the sub to the left of it. My plan was to put the 1 pair of Fives on speaker stands in the family room. Put the one Era 300 in the dining room on a stand and the one Era 300 in the dining room directly on the counter as it is out of the work area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Any idea what this update, available evening (UK) on the of 6th Jan is all about? Same target hardware as mid December updating to 92.0.72171 with others (Port/Five/Move) on 92.0.71170. Nothing on release page...
I am a dedicated Sonos user with a significant investment in your ecosystem, including the new Arc Ultra, Sub, and several Era 100s. While the hardware remains industry-leading, the software experience is currently fragmented for those of us in the Google ecosystem.Currently, I am forced to place Google Nest speakers right next to my Sonos speakers because the Era and Ultra lines lack Google integration. I have no interest in Alexa or Sonos Voice Control; I want the power of the best AI ecosystem available today. My message to the leadership team: Please set aside the corporate friction and technical pride. Integrate Google (and the new Gemini capabilities) into your latest hardware. Don’t force your loyal customers to choose between great sound and a great AI assistant.

One-week-old Sonos Arc Ultra makes a noticeable popping sound when navigating in/out of content. It’s not the loud pop reported earlier this year, but still audible and annoying. Factory reset twice with no change. Happens with all content types (stereo, 5.1, Atmos, YouTube, Netflix, etc.). Setup: Apple TV 4K, LG C1, bitstream input, passthrough output, eARC, Sonos HDMI cable. No speech enhancement enabled. What are my options/next steps? Example captured on video:
Is anyone else experiencing a crackling noise with their Arc Ultra? I upgraded from the Arc to the Arc Ultra, which is connected to a pair of Era 300s and two subs. The crackling sound has been intermittent, mainly occurring when streaming movies.
Device: iPhone 16e ; iOS 26.2Home Network: Ubiquiti UniFi (Enterprise Managed)Issue: AirPlay 2 connects to Sonos speakers but audio drops (silence) while the player timer continues ("Ghost Play").Isolation:I have isolated this specifically to the "Limit IP Address Tracking" setting in Wi-Fi settings.* When ON: AirPlay Control channel works (timer moves), but Data channel fails (silence/packet loss).* When OFF (and subsequent wifi network reset): AirPlay works perfectly.*When returned to ON - failure reproduces. This conflict between Private Relay features and Local Network Multicast/Discovery is forcing users to disable privacy features to use basic system functionality. Please investigate the routing of AirPlay traffic when IP Tracking protection is active on managed subnets.
I’ve been using my Sonos setup for a while now.Overall it works well, but I’ve had a few connection dropouts here and there.Nothing constant, just occasional issues that need a restart.I was curious if others have had a similar experience or if it’s been fully stable for you.
I accidentally thumbs down on a favorite artist’s song and now none of the artist’s songs play. How can I correct the thumbs down and restore the artist.
Hi everyone,I’m looking for some help with a persistent connection issue. My Sonos Arc Ultra paired with Era 100 & Era 300 for surround constantly disconnects from the WiFi and disappears from the app, even though both the speaker and my phone are sitting right next to the router.Troubleshooting I’ve already done:• Tested with multiple different phones (same result).• Verified that the phone and speakers are on the same network/frequency and have a static IP address.• The only fix: If I provide a wired ethernet connection to the Arc Ultra, the app stays connected and everything works. As soon as I go wireless, it drops.Has anyone else experienced this with the Arc Ultra? Is there a specific router setting (like band steering or certain channels) that Sonos prefers to keep the handshake stable or its software glitch?App Feedback:On a side note, I have to agree with the general sentiment lately—the new Sonos S2 app feels very cluttered and unintuitive. It lacks the streamlined contro
I have tried to pair multiple remotes so that I can adjust volume. It shows that it has worked and it works for about a minute then stops. Looking for suggestions
I recently bought a Sony PS5, and when playing games, the audio intermittently drops on my Sonos Arc (with Sub and 2 surrounds connected) for a second, and then keeps happening. It’s enough to be really annoying. I have changed the HDMI cable and looked at the settings on the Playstation and on my Sony TV, and all seems OK. Audio is fine through my Apple TV and Nintendo Switch, this is just with the Playstation. Any ideas how to fix?
I am absolutly fed up of having to reboot my router to access Sonos from my phone. I have a VPN, but not only do I tunnel it, I turn it off, I restart my phone, but no, if I want to run Sonos from my phone I nearly always have to reboot my router. Honestly, I love the sound but the application and connectivity, I can never recommend this product or even contemplate any upgrades.
I’ve just purchased a Sonos Beam (gen 2) and this is paired with a Samsung 55QN95B on the supplied TV stand. The TV stand protrudes in front of the TV, so I’ve been trying to work out the best placement for the Beam. Either, in front of the TV stand, directly on the cabinet (although this looks a bit odd), or resting on top of the TV stand - looks much better as the beam “merges” with the TV. However, I’m not sure if this compromises the sound, so was wondering if there are any “feet” that can be used to raise the Beam about 1cm. This would mean the Beam can sit over the stand without resting on it.
I have 2 speakers which stubbornly refuse to allow the full 45 second Truplay sequence to complete due to back ground noise. Is this a thing? can you counter the background noise message? I have done the tune thing in a row which is totally silent of background noise and its driving me nuts
Hi All, I have an extremely frustrating situation with a new Arc Ultra - when watching content from my Shield via the Brava e-ARC the status light will turn on white (I have it set to off) then the volume will jump up and down for a minute or two. Sometimes it stops and the light goes out again, sometimes the power needs to be pulled. I’ve spoken to support, been through troubleshooting (reboot, update, disabled IR and touch controls etc etc) but this is an intermittent issue and it will go away after a reboot/reset for a few hours, or even days so hard to get in touch with support when the fault is occurring. It is driving me mad - and sounds very similar to the issue here so I’m starting to wonder if there is a hardware issue: Anyone out there got any good ideas? Thanks.
every time I connect my play base to the Internet and when I disconnect it, it does not appear in my app
I have a Sonos system consisting of 2 x Era 100s, 1 x Beam, 1 x Roam and a Connect. I have had all for a while, but over the last month have had difficulties using Alexa to control them. Alexa works fine to check weather, add stuff to a list, but when asking her to play music from either Amazon, or BBC Sounds, or Pocket Casts, she responds, tells me she is going to do it, and then does nothing. A reboot of the speaker gets her responding again, but this only lasts a short while. I have spent hours on the chat with Sonos, and a 2 hour phone call with them and my ISP this morning. Sonos blame the ISP, the ISP blame Sonos.
I am facing an issue where I cannot add a factory reset play:1 & play:3 to my existing system. When I go to add the play:3 I get this message:We couldn’t find any Sonos products on {WI-FI Name} so we can’t set up your Play:3. Try again later This is very weird because There is a Ray, Sonos Roam and 2x One’s and an existing Play:3 already registered on the WiFi network. What might cause this? I’ve tried multiple resets, power cycles, wifi & direct ethernet connection. Another post suggested that it would be best to forget the wifi network and update it. So powered off all registered products and wired the existing Play:3 to my router. I powered on all the speakers and updated the network first through the Roam then the Ray (the ones are grouped to the Ray for surrounds). The app shows the “Add your Play:3” banner, but when I try to set it up the error in quotes happens. I’ve tried multiple android devices (Pixel 6, My old P20 pro and a Lenovo Tablet) - all have the same issue.
I have very old Play 3 and Play 5 and brought them out of storage. Can they connect to wifi? If so: how?not tech savvy
Hi all, wondering if anybody could help me I have just purchased a Sonos arc, my tv only has an arc port and not an earc port. My tv model is a Sony KD 55x8509c,it is also running thru sky stream and I have set the audio out to pass through and also tried Dolby digital plus.the problem I’m having is I can’t seem to get Dolby digital plus to come through, should it say Dolby digital plus when playing on the Sonos app? As mine just says Dolby digital 5.1 so not sure if am getting the full experience.
hello, I'm fooling with my mac’s wifi private address settings.options are off, fixed, rotating.seems that Sonos doesn't like the ‘rotating’ option, which I believe is more secure.Am I missing a setting/option, or is this the way it needs to be? thanks
I have a SONOS 1SL, that has been working fine for 3 years. Now it is not. After spending hours on the phone with tech support, they said it is my modem, but they could not tell me what modem to purchase. They could only give me a few names of what NOT to buy. Not very helpful. Any suggestions? I am with Bell for internet
