To get rid of this commercial ban / mistreatment of clients I made some thoughts and developed a very simple and cheap solution. To play the same music synchronized in all of my rooms (setting with a S2 net and a S1 net) I started a spotify session. In this spotify session I plazed another user which is also under my control. After I done so I activated a user on each, S2 and S1.As soon as I‘m playing Music in one of these Spotify Users the music plays synchronized in both S2 as well as S1 net.
I am currently running a Synology NAS with my music files on it. Since very few mesh routers (including my Orbi) have a usable USB port for an external hard drive, I was thinking (doesn’t hurt much), that it would be great if Sonos could incorporate a USB port on a Boost type device. That way I could get rid of the NAS and just attach a USB hard drive to it with my lossless music files to the network. It would be a win for me. Maybe for Sonos also? The reason for this is that I still get dropouts when streaming from the NAS. Not always but often enough to have me post this. I have changed the Sonos network channel on many occasions from 1, to 6 and 11 with limited success. I have a Boost, 2 Play 1’s, a Sonos One, Sonos 5 and Play 3. My router is an Orbi wifi 6 system that has 2 satellites and Boost is plugged into the router. My wifi network is very robust yet the SonosNet is very much less so.
After having read this RSTP Post from a year ago, I need a clarification. My Sonos (9 spkrs) system is working fairly well and reliably in a VLAN (IoT) and can be controlled from the main LAN via Android, IoS, and Windows. After quite a bit of work setting up my EdgeRouter-4 with firewall groups and rules, IGMP, mDNS, multi-cast (not blocked), and now RSTP/STP, I have a question from the post aboveFirst my setup: Off of my EdgeRouter-4 is a 24-port Unifi Switch. Off of that switch are three other Unifi US-8 switches. On one port of the 24port Switch is a Sonos Boost and on one of the US-8 switches is a PlayBase wired connection. It won't connect wirelessly anymore. Wifi adapter went bad I guess. All other Sonos speakers are wireless. Before today I had all switches set to STP, but as many have noted this slows down all other non-Sonos DHCP requests to 45-55 seconds. Who knows what other network problems this causes. I saw your article about setting each of the switches to RSTP and in

I had raised the question about support for more modern Samba support on Sonos.I was greeted with the lovely respones that it is “on its way”. Forgive me if I don’t hold my breath.Fortunately, if you have an open source version of Samba 4 (such as I do through my OpenWRT router), it now supports legacy (insecure) connections and allows Sonos to connect.Well done in relying on others to provide compatibility, Sonos, even if you refuse to do anything. I hope a similar tactic works for you in suing Google for copying your network music synchronisation. I hope you get your reward frow them, but I don’t rely on you to put the proceeds to fixing your issues or inventing your way forwards...
Bought a new 2 CD set with same name as old 1 CD. I deleted the old folders from my NAS drive, updated to be sure it was missing and then copied the newly ripped music to the NAS drive. The issue is that Sonos only brings up the old data, still thinks that one CD has 8 instead of 19 tracks and doesn’t know the other CD is there at all.Double checked that the new files on the NAS were present and both new folders are there but Sonos is not updating despite several tries - after an update it somehow resurrects the old data for the original CD which was deleted and thinks that it is still there? Any ideas?
Hi. My sonos connect disappeared from my system according to my phone app. Multiple attempts to find it/reconnect were unsuccessful. I tried turning it off and on again. That didn’t solve anything. I tried resetting it. That was a mistake! Now, I just have a flashing red light. I called support and they said “it’s a known issue” “we are working on it” “a fix will be rolled out soon.” That seems unlikely considering the connect is so old (how long has this been a known issue)? Any ideas on how I can get my connect working again?
I have the most simple setup in the world and it’s not working. 4 Play 1 - grouped in 2 paired groups. Yet efter at little while the one group goes out of sync with the other. Is there any fix for this or doesn't Sonos care at all. Wouldn't be the first time.. Thank you in advance for answers.Claus
Have been using the arc on my sony TV for a year. All of a sudden it won’t let TV sound come through. The TV says it’s connected to external speaker. When I unplug the hdmi it goes back to TV audio. Then when I plug it back in it goes to external speakers but no audio will come out of arc. I can play music from Sonos app on arc but no tv. When I hit the up and down on my TV remote the arc status light does illuminate. Please help. Diagnostic number 815805473
Hi,Got two refurb Sonos One speakers delivered today and noticing some intermittent crackling on one of them (stereo paired).I’ve submitted diagnostics, #454299761 - it’s the left Office Speaker that’s crackling.Thanks.
Sonos won’t import new albums from iTunes for the first time. No trouble shooting has helped.
This is driving me crazy…TLDR: I am unable to group one of my Play:1 speakers with my Symfonisk stereo pair using then app. (Button and grouping the other way works!) See also:The two minutes delay is way to short. It usually takes me considerably more time browsing through my music library selecting the next song or album to play. Also my amplifier takes about 5 seconds after switching on before you can hear the music. So please change this value to something way larger (30 or 60 minutes for example) or make it a setting I can configure on the device. Thanks,Oswald
HelloI have had an issue which I had reported to Sonos support a couple of times. This evening after making a change, I have found the source of the problem.I have a Sonos Arc, Sub and 2 x Sonos 1 surrounds connected to a Samsung QLED TV. Each evening when running any sound source, TV or music it would cut out everyday at EXACTLY 8pm. I cannot for sure say when it started, but it has been happening for a while now.Tried all the all the things support ask you to do; reboot, change wireless channels, submit diagnostics etc. and none of this worked or was conclusive.Today I noticed in the Sonos App that everyday at 8pm Sonos updates my music library which is located on a NAS drive. Therefore I set it to update at 4am and no more cut outs at 8pm! Problem (sort of) solved. If anyone from Sonos support can tell me:Why this happens Why a diagnostics report would not show this (i have submitted them on each support call minutes after it happened).I’ve not seen any other posts with this soluti
This has been an ongoing problem for a while now. I have observed that I always have trouble connecting from Spotify on my computer (or my mobile app) to my Sonos system a short time after using my TV connected to the original Playbar (via optical TOS-Link cable) and configured with 2 Play 1 surround speakers. This is not just a problem connecting to the Playbar setup, but once this happens, I cannot connect to any of my other speakers throughout the house either. I have 2 other Play 1 in a stereo pair, 4 standalone Play 1, and a Move. Spotify fails to connect to any of them after turning off my TV and starting up Spotify. I typically attempt to connect to the Playbar/surround setup first, but once this fails, all other speakers just hang there in Spotify waiting to connect, and never succeeding. Everything is on the latest firmware (as of Jan 2022), but as I wrote earlier, this has been an ongoing problem (more or less ever since I have had the setup, which is going on 3 years now).
Hi,I’ve found something that could be named a bug in the indexing of Sonos IMHO. Having two classical music albums with exactly the same name ‘Domenico Scarlatti: Sonatas’ but played by two different artists ‘Angela’ and ‘Racha’. Both albums have been correctly tagged. I’ve noticed that ;Only Angela’s album is listed under Album Searching under composer ‘Domenico Scarlatti’, nothing from Racha shows up. Searching under Artist, Racha and her album does show up.Changing name of one album solves the problem. Strange isn’t it ?Hope this helps others.BTW, I have the 11.2.13 app on a Sonos S1 system.
Own LG 65SJ850A 65” UHD TV, Beam and Play 1 surrounds and never could get ARC connection to Beam to work and used optical, until now. Thought I’d share.LG HDMI bus is challenged by CEC devices attached to HDMI (Beam, Apple TV, HDMI switch, Sony Blu ray, etc). You need to turn off CEC (power-on) on for each device AND on the LG in a well hidden menu. If a device is attached with CEC enabled on any other HDMI port, HDMI2/ARC will fail and disable the Beam. Maybe later LG models have a better CEC implementation. On the LG TV there are 3 volume indicators on the right of the screen when volume up/down on remote is pressed. If you get a numeric display with numbers, that is the LG internal speaker indicator. If you get a smaller +/- arrow display that is the HDMI2/ARC output, if you get grey circle with a slash, the TV speakers and ARC are dead but optical maybe enabled. Your goal is the +/- arrow volume indicator. For the LG, there is a difference between configuring audio in the All Setti
When trying to select my playlists on the LivePhish app on Sonos, it says unable to browse music. This is happening on just the playlists as all other parts of the app are working fine. And also when I go to the actual LivePhish app, the playlists work fine there. Any help?
Dear all,Since few weeks, I have a problem with my Connect : with Deezer, each songs lose sound between around the 30 last seconds and the 10 last seconds… I tried to disconnect electrically several times but the problem remains…Do you experiment the same problem ?Any idea how to solve it ? Thanks a lot for your help,Vincent
We recently bought the Sonos Arc entertainment set with the Arc and the Sub. We decided to add in two Sonos Ones as rears in our system the only issue I’m having is figuring out placement in the room. As you can see in the pictures I’ve attached of the room the official Dolby placement guide won’t work as the couch is against the back wall, so that rules at stands as well. So I figure my option is wall mounts, I’m just not sure where, how far apart, how high up, etc. For reference I’m standing right in front of the tv in the photo facing the back wall.
I have a setup where I would like to change SUB attachment from a pair of 2’s to a Beam - but a quick way to do that is missing...

Hello,I know that line-in is disabled on speakers when used as surrounds.Does Sonos have any plan to make it possible soon or after?Thank you,Davide
I just purchased the beam. On four different occasions during normal use it has produced a loud, near deafening sound that does not stop until the power is cut. It is sure to have/or soon will damage the speaker.Anybody had this problem? Solution? Also, the beam frequently does not produce audio and I have to exit a netflix show three or four times (and re-enter) to get the audio to start working. Audio also disappears sometimes when I pause a show for a bit and unpause it…..
A year has passed since I originally posted this question:Recently, I tried editing My Sonos to remove the Tidal Playlists section. My plan was to re-add then check if the above issue had been fixed. However, I find no way to do this. “Edit My Sonos” has options to rearrange and delete “Long press to rearrange the content. Tap the delete icon to remove”. How to add my Tidal Playlists section back into My Sonos?
