Troubleshoot, tune and get the most out of your system

I have a large SONOS system of Ports, Playbars, Amps, Subs etc on my boat which have all worked well until the latest App and F/W debacle. However this is to report that when I take my boat off-shore and lose Internet access, I get logged out of the system and can not control it from the phone App. I have had installed on board for 5 years a File Server containing all of my purchased music for this situation, which has worked well. I also do not appear to be able to access my Playlists associated with the music on my File Server without access to the Internet. It appears that the current developers have not imagined having full use the system (even with a locally attached Music Library) without access to the Internet in order to stay logged into the Sonos system.Although I have previously logged in whilst I have Internet access, I seem to get automatically logged out after loosing the Internet and if I attempt to log back in I get the following error message: “A server with the speci
This might sound like a very “nooby” question and I apologise if that is so but with all the installations, updates, and “fixes” around Music Library lately I am just a little confused. My question is - If I have multiple controllers (iPhone, iPad, PC) for my SONOS system, and I add a Music Library to one of them, should it be visible and available on the others.I have a SONOS app on my Win10 pc and have added the library and apart from every track on a compilation album being reported as an album in it’s own right (when is that being fixed by the way?), it works well. I can select and play music from the linrary on any of my speakers. Howver, the library does not appear on my iPhone! I tried adding it, and although it found the library and it appeared on my homepage for a short time, it has subsequently disappearedfrom the home page althogh it still shows under the “Your Folders” section of Music Library.Any help with this most friustrating aspect would be greatly appreciated.
What is the issue with Sonos and high end products? Sonos will not work with Starlink and it will not work with Apple’s Siri! These are two cutting edge technologies, why is Sonos not doing anything about supporting these technologies? I purchased an Arc, 2 of the S1’s and a Sub a few years ago. I recently went from DirectTV to Starlink for my internet service and now all I have for sound is a high dollar sound bar and three other speakers that just collect dust. Come on Sonos, you can do better than this!
My saved playlists will not play.
Well thanks Sonos. I can now, after several months, play my music library stored on my Mac but to be fair, the instructions how to do so failed miserably and I had to make it up as I went along. The hand that giveth also taketh away: the price for this restoration of the original service is that now BBC Sounds will not play. Useless bit of kit in my view. I would sell my speakers but who would buy them?
I brought my Era 100 to Italy and it worked fine until the ridiculously poor update from Sonos. It doesn't work since the latest software update for which the CEO of the company apologized. What gives? I can connect to the Era 100, but when I select music from Apple Music, it just spins and never stops. The same thing occurred in the U.S. after the software update and them it was corrected. What can I do?
Hi everybody. Someone offered me a sonos connect yesterday, that he never used. So as it is an old model, i’ve install the S1 apk, made some test and it was working pretty well exept the fact that i couldn’t play an entire folder of music stored on my music server. Then a message appear telling me that i could go for S2 version. So i made the upgrade and download the S2 apk. Only sonos radio appears, no way to make visible my media server, no way to see songs stored on my android device. So i decided to roll back to S1, but every time it fails downgrading. I have reset the connect, the light flash green, i enter the S2 apk and start the downgrade process. It detect my connect and tell me that my connect is ready to be downgraded. I hit the “downgrade button” and a second after, i’ve got a message. An error occured. I really don’t know what to do. HELP pleeeeeaaaaaase !!!!!!
Those Android users unfortunate enough to have installed the v16.3 firmware released on 17 July may have encountered a nasty bug that crashes the app over and over. Thanks to an intrepid detective on Reddit, we’ve narrowed down the bug and identified a weak workaround. The bug causing the crash seems to be triggered by local library music. And the local library music does not need to playing, it simply needs to be in the queue of the currently selected Sonos device. So if you are encountering this bug and your Android app is stuck crashing ...Using a functioning controller* clear the queuesⵜ on all Sonos devices Start Android app, everything works! Play streaming source, everything works! Play local library music, BOOM CRASH BOOM… hence “weak workaround” as local library music in your queue will continue to crash the app.* Desktop app and Web app work particularly wellⵜ or replace the queues with streaming musicSide note: this bug is not limited to Samsung devices, tho’ it may not impact
Sonos Radio and TuneIn doesn’t work after the “May update”. I have to Reauthorize both but with TuneIn I get an error and with Sonos Radio a timeout…I have installed the old app and with the old app radios are working fine, “updated” again the app and radio doesn’t work.Anyone could Reauthorize Sonos Radio or TuneIn with the new app?
When asked to play the radio I get no response from my Sonos one (gen2). When I ask Spotify to play music I get "sorry that device is off line". I have currently have the Sonos one hardwired to the hub as wifi also now not working. Tried so many things and going around in circles..😬
I can’t be the only one with this issue. I have had BEAM + ONE + ONE as my living room setup. MOVE is in the Bedroom. Was so happy with this setup. Never an issue with the SONOs app playing music. Never an issue with Apple AirPlay playing music or Podcasts. Mutli room worked awesome. I added two ERA 100 to my setup as a new room. Setup as left and right…Very basic and simple. Ever since I added those two speaker, I have had nothing but issues. I was told that sonos support acknowledges a bug with airplay and lossless. One speaker would cut out or both would drop for no reason. They are still seen on the network, they just stop playing music. These two speakers are the closest to the router, so it’s not a distance issue. Not using any voice commands. I’m relegated to use the sonos app to play multiroom and that sucks ass as well. I’m lucky to make it through two songs in a playlist without the one or both Era dropping. I have to go through the app, turn off that room,
So I have an existing system of two Sonos Eras 100’s and one Play:1. I recently made the plunge and decided to buy the Arc for my TV. Easy install: as soon as I did it, I had ZERO issues with my Arc playing audio with my TV//Apple TV. And even though all 4 speakers show up on my system in the Sonos app (iOS), I simply cannot play music to ALL Sonos devices from Spotify. I can either do 1. Play music to my two Eras 100’s + Play:1 *OR* just to the Arc. When I pair them all together in the Sonos app, NOTHING plays - complete silence. HELP!
Having just built a new house we have been planning on upgrading all of the dozen or so Sonos speakers we have as ours are a little old now - but the Sonos App is so appalling to use we have decided it may be better to look elsewhere, to a different company’s product. Are there any plans for a major overhaul of the new App? And if so, when?
WTF Sonos? You are garbage. Your app is no w complete garbage. Every time i go to use my simple system it's garbage. From not connecting (multiple mesh points with wifi coverage out to 1000’ from y residence), to not even being able to control volume on a device that's whiting 60’ of a primary router and 20’ from a mesh point. What does it take to be a software engineer at Sonos, a pulse? If so, I'd check your SE’s pulses BTW.
HiI am considering new Era 100’s as a pair.Their first use would be at a party in a rented house, where we might not have access to wifi, so I thought as they are bluetooth they’d be ideal, no hassles with wifi, just play direct to them. We only have older Play 1’s which cannot be used on a guest network, so I understand. The question is when you play music via bluetooth, or say through the wired dongle, when the speakers are not on a wifi network…. can you create a pair, or stereo pair, in bluetooth? Thanks
I saw a similar post on this issue, but it was closed without any suggested resolution. Last summer, based on reports that the new Sonos app was a dumpster fire, I had held off installing the update for a couple of months until my Sonos system “helpfully” advised me that some of my speakers would not play until I “upgraded” the app.So, I moved forward with the update. Luckily, some of the issues (alarms and timers particularly) had been resolved by that time. But, with the Sonos app on my iOS devices (iPhone and iPad), I can only see a handful of the 100+ Spotify playlists I have. 99% of my use of Sonos is with Spotify. So, I would really like to see a solution to this issue (and saying “just use the app on your laptop” is not a solution). Thank you.
I’ve been having issues when connected via Bluetooth on my Era 300. The speaker randomly cuts off during playback for a second or two, then resumes. It’s really annoying, and I’ve noticed other users are also experiencing this. Has anyone found any fixes?Honestly, I regret buying this speaker. I was excited when Sonos finally addressed the connection issues after all this time, but it’s disappointing that they still can’t get such a core feature right.
I am done with sonos will not play any of my songs any more it is grade out even if it in my downloads on my computer. Don't know what changed this year but now I am going to buy other system that don't have so much control over my music
I have a play 5 after I installed the latest app it tells me to downgrade to Sonos 1 but it doesn't recognise the speaker
I have 7 zones in my system and the bottom bar on the new app still confuses me every time I use it. From what I can tell:If I click the album art or the currently playing song, it will pop up the “player view” for my current zone If I press the round button with 2 rectangles on it, I can manage my zone (and volumes). But if I misclick the round button, it will pop up into the “player view” If I touch the volume slider, I can manage the volume of each set of speakers in my current set of zones If I swipe up on bottom bar, I can then flip to manage other zones in the houseMy brain knows all of this, but I seem to do the wrong thing every single time I try to use this damn app. I think the UX team was too clever by about 50% when designing this. Also, I’d strongly prefer it to default to my zone that is currently playing music when I open the app. It seems to default to a random zone whenever I open the app.
The Pocet Cast integration is not syncing, position nor completing an Episode with Pocket Cast App. Can you please take a look into this, to make it work again. App S2 Version 80.07.03-release-20240819.7fd7da0dd
Why are volume respons so extreme poor? The app is totally fu*ed up nowdays. Fix the app or start a buy back program of your speakers and subs.
Playing music on someone else's sonos speaker
How come after months of problems and updates my app still stops recognizing my products
I have been shipped 3 Move refurbished units in a row that will not power on. No lights whatsoever. Anyone else experiencing this or have a solution? I’ve plugged them in for 24 hours and still nothing.
