Okay, this is going to be long. Like many of you I have hit the wall on the NAS issue. Don’t let them lie to you about SMB. It is 100% about indexing.Normal folder structure of Artist/Album/Song craps out quickly. The meta-data is just too large for the crappy app So I copied songs individually to folders. First couple of folders could do about 1000 songs. Works perfect. Can index these songs. If you do more than that it fails. So this is a VOLUME issue, not a SMB issue So I created a few more Folders with 1000 or so songs in them and was able to index those. Fine By the time I was at 5 Folders, needed few and few songs per folder Stupid, terrible, unfriendly app craps out at 16 folders (hard max) I can’t prove it, but it seems like things loaded better if I cleaned up some special characters that were part of the song names. So I can get roughly 9,000 of my 22,000 songs into SONOS.In the mean time, the help chat continues to spread the lie that this is about SMB. If that was tru
Sonos Sux so much. Just wondering how it couldbget SO bad? I mean this thing is SO clunky. Who the f*** designed this app? Some f***ng moron. Really hate it. Would never use it again. F*** Sonos. *Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
Well after investing probably circa £2k on Sonos speakers over the years I’m left completely exasperated by the utter uselessness of the black app. It is truly shocking by comparison to the rust coloured app that preceded it. It cuts out all the time, stops working when it feels like it, and changes songs midway through. What a great update Sonos team……errr I don’t think so. What has angered me most is the removal of the ability to add songs your currently playing to your own playlist. Call me old fashioned but in any music app surely the first thing is should do is allow you to add to your own playlist. Not a bloody Sonos one that doesn’t even work correctly. All the decent functionality was removed and replaced with utter crap. What I really don’t understand is how the tech people and the board are still in office. Yes the CEO wrote out to say sorry but didn’t you consult your client base first. Surely the first rule in business is to meet the needs of your customers. Had
I have had Sonos for a decade. 4 amps, a sub, multiple Play:1’s, Play 3, It went from one of my favorite products … so intuitive, so easy. After all the upgrades, the app is impossible to use, the speakers for my tv work for 10 seconds then stop working for 3 seconds. If I didn’t have so much invested in the system, I’d throw it out. DO NOT BUY ANY SONOS PRODUCT UNTIL IT IS FIXED.
Bonjour, comment démarré toutes les enceintes en une fois avec le téléphone pour la télévision ? à chaque fois les enceintes s'arrêtent. Moderator Edit: Google Translate- Hello, how do I start all the speakers at once with the phone for the television? each time the speakers stop.
I’ve had one playlist that I have been adding to for years called NYE. I went to play it today, and all of a sudden none of my created playlists are in my list anymore!! I had saved songs there that I haven’t saved anywhere else.
Ever since this new update, Sonos is impossible to work with this new stupid app. Why was it changed? It worked, so you hired somebody to break what was working. Go work for the government because you suck at what you do.
Hi All, just thought I would post a work around for Sonos MacOs desktop software. Due to the fact that without so complex work around of tricking the software that you are using a NAS drive in order to access your local files I find bypassing the Sonos MacOs app completely and just using Mac Music software and changing the output to the Sonos speaker (see image). the benefit of this is Mac playlists are accessible. I have now given up using Sonos software. I still believe the hardware is good quality. the software issues have go on for to long. may switch to Mac speakers in the future
Like many, I have been experiencing Apple Music songs skipping in my playlists, one of the many delights of the new app. Many songs were greyed out in the playlists and did not play. I don’t know if this will apply to anyone else, but I found a solution that works for my system.I remembered that for some reason I had four separate Apple Music systems showing up as “connected accounts” in Service Settings -- even though they all connect to the same Apple Music account, same login and password. (No idea how that happened, but that had been the case for many years. It had never caused an issue until recently.)I tried to delete all Apple Music systems except my Primary Account. The app did not allow that (why? who knows!).So I reauthorized each of them, keeping only one as my primary account. That has solved the issue with my playlists - all my Apple songs now play!Note, I previously tried rebooting all my speakers, router, deleting and reinstalling the app, etc, with no joy. TLDR: If you a
When will Sonos finally introduce a volume equalizer so that a uniform volume is always guaranteed, even when the song is changed?Like with Spotify: Audio normalization balances out quiet and loud songs for a more consistent listening experience.
I have spent almost 11 hours on various telephone calls with Sonos tech support trying to get my Sonos One speakers working. Technicians have told me that I must label my 5G and 2.4 with different names. Spectrum tells me their routers cannot do this. Are there cures for this problem?
Probably this is now old news but Sonos please fix bug issues once and for all. I have 17 speakers connected and when it’s not one thing is the other. App is completely unreliable with volume sometimes not responding, speakers disconnecting, rooms disappearing and speakers even made a loud sound. I have no issues with internet connecting both wired or wifi. The app seems at times it has a mind of its own. I’ve spend thousands on your excellent hardware only to be let down by the driver.
Hello. The 3.5” driver foam on a Play:1 speaker has cracked. I believe this was a common problem. I want to replace the entire driver. Does anyone know of a direct replacement? NB that the (4) hole pattern of the driver’s frame is (oddly) 72 x 77mm. Codes I have found on this driver are: (front, in the rubber surround) SONOS 405-00314 REV A CAV 31; (rear, on a small white sticker) 180-00057 PHWP17102602185
I have a handful of older play3s and play1s that I wasn’t using, so I decided to give them to a friend. To get them ready, I tried to connect them to my system so I could update them, then factory reset them for my friend. Adding the speakers to my system was a nightmare. When the app told me to listen for chimes after connecting my phone to the speaker’s temp wifi, none of the speakers played the tones(are they too old to download the mp3?). I got around this by temporarily wiring in the speakers (though the app still failed to see them when prompted to press buttons on the speakers) when I removed the cable part-way through the setup, they finally added. I updated the speakers to my system and verified they worked by playing some music. Then I factory reset them and took them to my friend’s house. There I ran into the same issue with the speakers not playing chimes during setup of a new household. The problem was my friend’s router doesn’t have ethernet (most don’t these days). Is it
I am happy to finally upgrade to an ARC soundbar and Era 300 side speakers. I watch television/streaming services and listen to music. Do the surround sound speakers work with television/streaming? Not sure if I am not setting them up correctly, that my tv doesn’t offer it, or that surround ever works with tv/streaming.
There are several posts on here about exactly the same thing - all misteriously ticked as ‘answered’ by the admins, yet like the others who posted, I have tried absolutely every recommendation suggested and nothing works. The only sign of life is an orange light when plugged in to charge via USB-C. and yes, I have left it over an hour charging, and yes, with a 15w charger, and yes, i have pressed the power button for 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 30 seconds and yes, i have combined that with pressing the play/pause button. But like others, I still have a speaker that is only 2 years old which is now a defective brick. I bought the speaker directly from Sonos so I am not holding my hopes up at getting anything other than a 30% off voucher, which quite frankly doesn’t cut it for a problem that seems to be widespread. Suggestions welcome!
Moderator edit:Google Translate- Hello,Is the snooze function coming back on the alarm clock? What about the function that turns on the screen with controls as soon as the alarm starts? Both functions have disappeared with the new app.
The quality of the sound is unbelievably amazing when I use the sonos music, but everything else is pale compared to that. Anyone else found that to be the case? Any solutions?
My web controller (windows 11) just stopped working yesterday. Says it can’t find my system, but the app on the phone is working fine. Anyone else having this issue. Have rebooted everything.
I use Spotify playlists as my alarm music instead default Sonos Chime. My issue is, Alarm plays the same music from the playlist in list order. I don’t have any option to shuffle it. Is there a way to achieve this ?
Not changed anything but for the past few days my alarms have stopped working again. Please don’t tell me the latest update has broken them again…
Just tried to use my system through voice and nothing would work. So, I opened the app (last Android version of the old app) and it won't allow me to do anything until I upgrade to their new app.I guess that means they've fixed everything, riiiight?!?! 🙄
I have recently moved into a new apartment. As a result I now have a new WiFi network. I use a pixel 8 pro with the latest software updates.1) Manage Networks, of course, doesn't work;2) As a result I had to factory reset all my devices: - Arc - Sub gen 3 - SL 1 - SL - Roam 1All devices came back online, however, not so my services: - Spotify would not connect; - MyTuner Radio would not connect; - My music library and all my playlists disappeared I started the Spotify app on my phone and then connected my Sonos Livingroom and then Spotify would work correctly via the Sonos app.I was able to re-add my music library however my playlists are still gone.I have not been able to get MyTuner Radio working. Removing the service fails so I can't re-add it.Sonos radio works with all it's advertising! Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you. Charles Truax
… but only once.I got a refurbed Amp today, and out of the box it was running 57.5-87010, which is a newer S1 than the current S1 version (which is 57.21-51190).Once I added it to my S1 system, the app “updated” it back to 57.21 like all my other S1 gear.So it IS possible to go backwards, if the app lets you.
Hi everyone,Got my Ace headphones last week and really like them.A big issue I’m having is with the microphone, specifically with Slack (I don’t seem to have this issue with teams, google meets, phone calls, etc.).During slack calls, within a few minutes the Ace microphone seems to stop picking up audio. I’ve had several calls now where other people in the call suddenly stop being able to hear me. If I disconnect and reconnect to the call, that will usually buy me another few minutes before it happens all over again.I’ve checked all of my macbook audio/slack audio settings, and everything is how it should be.Wondering if anyone else has experienced this and/or found a way to fix it.
