I updated to Sonos controller v12.2 yesterday.  Now, when I right-click on the Sonos app that is on the MacOS dock I no longer see the controls such as Mute, Mute All, etc.

I am pretty sure that these existed on my last version of the controller, which would have (likely) been v12 or v12.1 as I am nearly always current with software.

Did this get eliminated?  Or am I imagining it?

Thanks!

Hi @jdag, thank you for reaching back to the Sonos community and for letting us know about your concern. Let me help you out with this.

First, I’d like to ask you some questions to isolate the issue and to find the solution to the problem.

  1. Do you experience the same on other devices?
  2. When you notice this on the Sonos app, did you reboot your computer?
  3. Can you try to uninstall the Sonos app and download the Sonos S2 app by clicking on this link https://www.sonos.com/redir/controller_software_mac2?

If you’re still experiencing the same, I would recommend contacting our Sonos Customer Care to remotely access your Mac and see what’s happening. You can reach them on Monday since our phone support is close during weekends.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have further questions, additional feature requests, or concerns. We are always happy to help out.

I have read on other chat boards that this is not an “issue” but that Sonos has removed the functionality.  That is very unfortunate as it was incredibly useful. Please put it back in!

Hi @jdag, thank you for your response. We run tests here on our end and we were able to access the quick menu on MacOS dock.

Here are the steps we performed.

  1. Open the Sonos app on MacOS.
  2. Right-click on the Sonos app icon on the MacOS dock.
    1. If no music is playing, Play is enabled.
    2. If music is currently playing, Play becomes Pause.
  3. Steaming on radio stations, next and previous buttons are greyed out.

If the steps listed above do not resolve your issue, please contact Sonos Customer Care for further assistance. If you have any questions about this. We and the community are always here to help.

Those steps do not resolve my issue.  This feature used to work using those steps you indicated...I used it every day...I updated the Sonos app...it no longer works.
