I understand Apple Music sends AAC 256kbps to my Era 300’s when using AirPlay2 (despite Airplay2 supporting lossless). My question is, does Amazon send Ultra HD to my Era 300’s when using AirPlay2? If yes, as established elsewhere on the forums, presumably my Era 300’s would downsample and playback at 16 bit 44.1? I prefer Amazon’s app interface and search, so trying to work out if there are any audio penalties to using Amazon’s app plus AirPlay2 vs Sonos S2 app.
I wanted to play Apple Music via Sonos, the Sonos App said I needed to reauthorize, OK, I’m happy with that.BUT Sonos App said before I could reauthorize I *MUST* upgrade Sonos system?I was running S2 15.5 (last months release), and was forced to upgrade to 15.6 (release today) before it would allow Apple Music to reauthorize? Is this a new requirement, to reauthorize Apple Music you must be running latest software?
Evert time try to get to my Sirius XM in the sonos app it says “Sorry something went wrong. Please try again. I have to reauthorize my XM account with username and password. I can then access all channels. The next time I again try to access all channels I get the same message and have to reauthorize the account. This is also happening on my wife’s sonos app as well. Is this a Sonos App issue?
Why is the Sonos update process such a mess? EVERY time the update note comes on, which is WAY too frequently, I know I’m in for a headache. I see no reason on Earth for it to be such a never ending disaster. This time it doesn’t even get past the “update starting” phase where it just kept circling with no end. I’m running Windows 11 latest update and also Windows 10 latest update. Problem is identical on both computers.
Search in the app for an Album. This used to find albums in my collection or on Amazon or Spotify. Now with Spotify all I get is “Featured” songs and a link to open the Spotify app.Is there now way of playing whole albums from within the app any more?
I'd like to have a controller in the kitchen that guests can use to control the music and that shows now playing info. Either on the wall or on a stand. I understand that Sonos doesn't make anything like this. Has anyone else come up with a solution that they like and could share? I saw that the new Google pixel tablet has a docking station so that might be an option but don't know much about it. Thanks for any suggestions.
Is it possible to connect my CD-player with USB-connection via PC & Windows media player to my Sonos Play 5?I have no problem to stream music on my PC to Sonos Play 5. The CD-player shows up on the media player, but I can not stream the music to Sonos, like I can with local music albums on the PC.
I want to add Spotify to my Sonos music services and for some reason it is not showing up. Also, when i use the Spotify app and choose the sonos device to play music it does not play through Sonos Move speaker but keeps playing on the phone itself. I can play on the other Sonos devices I have. I have updated the country in the app, this doesn’t seem to work either. Totally confused!
I had a functioning S1 system a mix of Play 1’s and the original S3. I tried to help an exercise studio I use who were having trouble with their Play 1. I brought it home and mistakenly ended up upgrading my Play 1’s to S2 but the original Play 3 and bridge aren’t upgradeable. I have now removed the bridge and the S3 is running on the S1 app. When I try to run the S2 app I get the “Sonos found on NETWORK NAME” message. I don’t want to run the S1 app so I go to Options. if I select Forget Sonos Sytem will that mess up the existing S1 system? I have already caused upset with My family - quite understandable and just need to get the S1 & S2 system running and if I can, prove that the Studio’s Paly1 does work which I now know is set to run on the S2 app.Happy to try another route just don’t want to be going down more rabbit holes. thanks
Hi there,When I try to add a new music service to my system, I get an error that states:”You have reached the maximum number of music service accounts that can be added to your Sonos system. Please remove an existing account before adding a new one.”Does anyone know what this limit is? Has it changed at some point? I couldn’t find any info in the forum or support site that specifically called out the limit or error message.Interestingly, I have deleted a couple of services but I still get this error, so at some point in time I was able to have more music service accounts than I have now (30 accounts over 26 music services, plus one voice service (Sonos)).Thanks.
So here's a weird problem I have this morning. My Sonos app on my iPhone refuses to see my Sonos Port but my Spotify app on the same iPhone has no problem seeing it and streaming music to it. Any ideas how to get the Sonos app to see it? I have tried restarting the app multiple times.
I have read that Apple down-mixes Dolby Atmos so that it can be delivered via Apple Music using AAC 256kbps in stereo i.e. they are simulating Dolby Atmos in stereo and I guess this is why they call it Spatial Audio? Does anyone know if this is correct, or whether Spatial Audio is in fact being delivered using the Dolby Digital Plus codec without down-mixing. Long story short I am trying to figure out whether Apple's Spatial Audio (and Amazon Music Unlimited I guess) is using all of the Era 300’s drivers or just simulating through stereo when playing via S2 app.
I work every other weekend. So on the days I work I have the alarm (my fav radio station) going off at 5:30 and 6am with increasing volume. Works great! So when I don’t work I want to start my alarm routine at 6am with a lower volume. I can’t program this! I always get a message “Unable to save the alarm. There is already an alarm for this room at the specified time.” I obviously don’t want to select both at the same time! I want to use the quieter alarm when I’m not working! Help!
I am getting versions of the error below constantly with Relisten. I have tried different songs and get the error over and over again until, suddenly they just work. I do not have similar issues with other services and there seems to be little rhyme or reason to when it works (20% of the time maybe) or when it does not work (80%).
The error connecting to Spotify is still not resolved. I get an error no matter what I do. What is the fix!?
I cannot connect Sonos app to Spotify or connect from Spotify app to Sonos. I get an error unable to add account every single time. I have had zero issues for years and now I’m stuck with this. I have tried every single suggested fix multiple times. So incredibly frustrating. They say this was a known issue that was resolved 22 days ago, but clearly it is not. Does anyone know the solve to this?
Hi,I have quite happily played my music, stored on a Synology 218+, on both Play 5 and Play 1 for several years. I updated the Sonos S1 app on my Windows 10 PC today. Things were fine initially, but when I added a couple of folders to Music Library I got the dreaded “access denied” message when attempting to listen on Play 5.Having had a similar problem a few years ago, I started ploughing through “access denied” solutions, to no avail. What baffles me, though, is that I can successfully listen on Play 1 to music stored in the same library (using the same app on the same PC). How can that be?I should add that the same problem exists when using my Android phone, i.e.access denied for Play 5, fine for Play 1A.
After years with only the occasional lost connection, my old S1 system cannot be found by the S1 controller, either on my iPhone or my MacBook Air. Literally overnight -- boom; no way toreach any of the four series one Sonos components. Have rebooted everything, reloaded the controllers -- nothing helps.Any ideas, anyone?
So, I have an Arc, Sub Mini (and two Era 200s). I can't get the Sonos app to show the Atmos indicator from the Sonos app. I'm playing tracks that already to be Atmos from Amazon Music or Tidal.I reduced the surrounds to just leave the Arc and Sub Mini and it's the same.Do I need to remove the Sub as well?
I rarely move the volume control out of the leftmost third of its range, often struggle to get a volume level that suits. There’s space to make the volume control slider much bigger. This would allow much finer-grained control of the selected volume. You might consider making it less linear as well - a large movement at low volume changing the volume more than the same movement at high volume. Thanks!
My Sonos Beam and Sonos One are setup with alarms to play different radio stations (both from TuneIn radio, both at 7am, Kiss FM and BBC Radio 1) however they sometimes both end up playing Kiss FM.When I go into the Sonos app on my PC it shows that they are playing the correct stations but they arent! (Kiss FM has a distinctive self-advertising jingle so I know its playing Kiss FM and not BBC 1)This happens fairly often, today being one of those occasions. I submitted a Sonos diagnostic report 898793610
