I understand Apple Music sends AAC 256kbps to my Era 300’s when using AirPlay2 (despite Airplay2 supporting lossless). My question is, does Amazon send Ultra HD to my Era 300’s when using AirPlay2? If yes, as established elsewhere on the forums, presumably my Era 300’s would downsample and playback at 16 bit 44.1? I prefer Amazon’s app interface and search, so trying to work out if there are any audio penalties to using Amazon’s app plus AirPlay2 vs Sonos S2 app.
I’ve never had a problem importing iTunes and its playlists until now.I total, my music library consists of about 61,000 music tracks.I’ve added probably a 1,000 or so tracks recently.I’ve got about 400-500 playlists. Most of them only have 40 to 50 songs on, although the largest is abut 150 songs. In total there are about 12,000 songs incorporated in those playlists. My iTunes management of those playlists places all of the artist specific playlists in an “Artist” subfolder, and all of the themed playlists (like songs about summer, etc) in a “Themed Playlists” subfolder. This has all uploaded to Sonos without any issues- well the occasional fail, but soon sorted and loaded again.Recently, I’ve added about 20 playlists. But I’ve also deleted about 100.Now, when I update the music library, it can’t complete, as it says it doesn’t have enough memory to do it. It loads all of the music but only about 90% of the Artist playlists and none of the Themed playlists. When I run the update to the
HiMy music library is stored on a Synology DS220+ NAS and I use iTunes on my Windows PC to manage my music and my playlists are created in iTunes. When accessing the music library in the SONOS app, amongst other links, there is an ‘Imported Playlists’ link that takes me to a list of my playlists that have been created in iTunes. In amongst my playlists, I can see a link called ‘Downloaded’ and another called ‘Purchased’ and these don’t appear in the iTunes app or on my NAS.Both links seem to contain my whole music collection but I don't know why they are there, what they are for and also, if they can affect the limitations on the number of tracks SONOS can handle. My collection is about 35,000 tracks in total. Can anybody advise why I can see these playlists and also if I can remove them?
Search in the app for an Album. This used to find albums in my collection or on Amazon or Spotify. Now with Spotify all I get is “Featured” songs and a link to open the Spotify app.Is there now way of playing whole albums from within the app any more?
I'd like to have a controller in the kitchen that guests can use to control the music and that shows now playing info. Either on the wall or on a stand. I understand that Sonos doesn't make anything like this. Has anyone else come up with a solution that they like and could share? I saw that the new Google pixel tablet has a docking station so that might be an option but don't know much about it. Thanks for any suggestions.
Ok so i have a commercial gym and i have SONOS for the music.I have had it for some time and it works good, i have it set to wake up at 03:55 in the morning right before the gym opens up.The gym is open from 04.00 in the morning until Midnight. But what i would like to do is at 00:05 is to start a new playlist with Alarm Sounds because i have some member that stay behind closing hours sometimes.I want this playlist to just play for maybe 10min and then stop. How do i set this up?Regular music start at 03:55 in the morning and stop playing 23:59 when the gym closes Start a new playlist at 00:05 (after midnight) where i have Alarm sounds :) that plays for just 10min and then stops and nothing else plays until 03:55 when the regular music starts againI have been looking around but i am not confident to set it up correct and i dont want alarm sounds to be on from 00:05 and all night :) haha
Is it possible to connect my CD-player with USB-connection via PC & Windows media player to my Sonos Play 5?I have no problem to stream music on my PC to Sonos Play 5. The CD-player shows up on the media player, but I can not stream the music to Sonos, like I can with local music albums on the PC.
F****** app icon is constantly jumping up and down on my Mac. It takes like three separate interruptions just to get the f***er to install the update. I don’t even know what the updates do and they don’t seem to do anything at all but break s***. Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
I just don’t get it.If I want to play something on multiple speakers I simply select what other Sonus devices I want, when I’m playing something. For the TV, I have to add my Sonus roam SL every time manually, so I thought, I know, I will create a group with my Arc, left and right speakers and sub woofer plus the Sonus SL, which is easy to do. Now I have no idea how to actually use that group, as I still have to add the SL every time I turn on my TV. Also, the volume control on my TV remote only changes the volume on the main set with the Arc, the SL stays at whatever volume was set in the Sonus app, which is a bit tedious. What am I missing here?I use Google assistant and also Sonus voice control. I also have a 300 in the master bathroom with a beam in the bedroom next door, so I created a group, but there is no way to use it that I can find.I must be missing the something here, can anybody explain.
I had a functioning S1 system a mix of Play 1’s and the original S3. I tried to help an exercise studio I use who were having trouble with their Play 1. I brought it home and mistakenly ended up upgrading my Play 1’s to S2 but the original Play 3 and bridge aren’t upgradeable. I have now removed the bridge and the S3 is running on the S1 app. When I try to run the S2 app I get the “Sonos found on NETWORK NAME” message. I don’t want to run the S1 app so I go to Options. if I select Forget Sonos Sytem will that mess up the existing S1 system? I have already caused upset with My family - quite understandable and just need to get the S1 & S2 system running and if I can, prove that the Studio’s Paly1 does work which I now know is set to run on the S2 app.Happy to try another route just don’t want to be going down more rabbit holes. thanks
Hi there,When I try to add a new music service to my system, I get an error that states:”You have reached the maximum number of music service accounts that can be added to your Sonos system. Please remove an existing account before adding a new one.”Does anyone know what this limit is? Has it changed at some point? I couldn’t find any info in the forum or support site that specifically called out the limit or error message.Interestingly, I have deleted a couple of services but I still get this error, so at some point in time I was able to have more music service accounts than I have now (30 accounts over 26 music services, plus one voice service (Sonos)).Thanks.
So here's a weird problem I have this morning. My Sonos app on my iPhone refuses to see my Sonos Port but my Spotify app on the same iPhone has no problem seeing it and streaming music to it. Any ideas how to get the Sonos app to see it? I have tried restarting the app multiple times.
I have read that Apple down-mixes Dolby Atmos so that it can be delivered via Apple Music using AAC 256kbps in stereo i.e. they are simulating Dolby Atmos in stereo and I guess this is why they call it Spatial Audio? Does anyone know if this is correct, or whether Spatial Audio is in fact being delivered using the Dolby Digital Plus codec without down-mixing. Long story short I am trying to figure out whether Apple's Spatial Audio (and Amazon Music Unlimited I guess) is using all of the Era 300’s drivers or just simulating through stereo when playing via S2 app.
Hello, I have a new Phone and New router, with Sonos Play 1 speakers. The router is 2.4G and 5G. I renamed the 5G so I can set up Sonos using the 2.4G connection. I connected my computer using the 2.4G, and tried to set up Sonos from the computer, but the PC controller told me I MUST set up with my phone. But….the Pixel will only allow a 5G connection which I cannot override to use the 2.4G connection. This means I cannot set up my sonos speakers. Any help would be appreciated.
I have an Era 300 connected via Wi-Fi, AirPlay and Bluetooth and controlled by my iPad.Considering changing my iPad.As in the past, I’ll use my Mac to backup my old iPad and then transfer content to my new iPad.Will my Era 300 just work again after I change iPad or is there something I need to perform on my new iPad/app/Speaker to get it to work again? Thanks in advance….
It seems very limiting to me and I would of prefer if Sonos let you know in advance that your primary music source comes from Spotify and not from whatever you like to play from your phone.Spotify to me is very limited and hard to search for songs, always throw more modern versions of the songs not the original and if a musician is not on Spotify you won't find the song you are looking for.Youtube video is much preferred for me as I can find any songs that comes to my mind, plus the autoplay is way better than Spotify and remembers your preferred style of songs, Spotify autoplay is not smart this way and it just keeps throwing horrible songs. So now I have to play music from my computer not from my phone.
Recently upgraded to Sonos2. Purchased Arc, 3 ones and play 5 to upgrade system. I have a One that is hard wired Ethernet to use network (supposedly to improve connectivity). Now (daily) several rooms are missing from my system, some speakers are unresponsive. I have installed, rebooted, factory reset and re-setup entire system almost daily. Rebooting my router etc works, but am I really going to have to do this every day? Worried I made a mistake purchasing the several-thousand dollar unreliable system. My old system on Sonos1 was flawless and reliable for years. PLEASE HELP! Before I throw the entire system away for Bose.
My Sonos Beam and Sonos One are setup with alarms to play different radio stations (both from TuneIn radio, both at 7am, Kiss FM and BBC Radio 1) however they sometimes both end up playing Kiss FM.When I go into the Sonos app on my PC it shows that they are playing the correct stations but they arent! (Kiss FM has a distinctive self-advertising jingle so I know its playing Kiss FM and not BBC 1)This happens fairly often, today being one of those occasions. I submitted a Sonos diagnostic report 898793610
