Controllers and Music services

Hi there,I noticed some tracks on a Sonos Playlist I created some years ago can’t be played anymore. The player would skip them and go directly to next track. I never encountered this issue before. I have my tracks on my personal server which is connected to my Wi-Fi router and my Connect system is also connected to this router. The playlist was created some years ago, before Sonos started to mess up with different controllers. My controller is now called S1. S2, apparently, is not compatible with my Connect. Though I have also a black Amp that would be compatible with S2  but I don’t want to use 2 different controllersOn the other end when I go to directly to my music library and play the tracks directly, outside the playlist, there are no issues.

I was a big fan and as I have added to the devices it has become harder to install. The app and the Arc keep forgetting each other and have to go thru a list of questions that show me the Arc then it says not found. The iPhone app does not stay active when the screen times out. Have to log back on the iPhone to mute or unmute it is just easier to use the TV controller. The Arc can not be controlled by the Virgin controller. I will not be buying any more Sonos devices as the whole system has become cumbersome and slow and unreliable.Even registration for this forum asks questions which I answered but the username was not unique and I had to answer them again and then again because I did not acknowledge the terms. It seems unlikely that any of my choices would have changed I. The 5 seconds between attempts. Do they not test S2 and the registration process with real users.

I just noticed that my Sonos system adjusts the volume automatically between loud and quiet songs. I haven’t noticed this before. It is extremely annoying, and especially noticeable when I play an album where the songs run into each other. The system also inserts a little gap between the songs. ALSO extremely annoying. I tried playing the same music files on another player, and there is no difference in the volume and no gap between the songs on that player, so it’s not the files that are ripped that way, it is the Sonos system that plays around with the volume. Like I said, I’ve never noticed it before. What has happened? Where do I turn it off?

Hey there, a few days ago I received an email from Sonos asking if I changed my email address to one I’d never seen before. My system is new and I’m the only one who’s owned it, so (reading into other threads here) I don’t know how this email address could’ve landed in my system. I called Sonos today and the tech helped me transfer the system back to my original email, but we’re still clueless how this happened, and I’m concerned there’s a wider issue. Oddly (no idea if it was related), earlier the same day I received a phone call from an “Apple rep,” which turned out to be part of the “iCloud breach” phone scam. I realized this after a few minutes on the call and hadn’t given the caller any information. Still, the timing of the change on my Sonos account to an email I’ve never heard of has me concerned.

I have successfully installed my new device ‘Connect’ (Serial No. D102 1909CP *redacted*), and it is working well. On my Apple iPad, I can stream music from different radio stations to my amplifier and loudspeakers. However, my music library is on my Apple MacBook Pro, but I cannot play any music from my music library. Sonos website says ‘install the MacOs app, then …’. But on the Apple store there is NO MacOs app to download. Can you please help by telling me what to do to play music from my MacBook Library? With advanced thanks, Hamid Radjy

I signed up for Qobuz but it's not showing up as an option for streaming services in my S2 app. Help!

I just noticed that Tidal displays “MASTER” now on MQA tracks where before it would kick down to “HIFI” - has SONAS started supporting MQA?     my understanding before was that even if you were playing the master quality music, it would downgrade to hifi and this was reflected in the display.  What changed?  Audio Quality or just the display? i have two gen 2 Play 5s with the sub in my office.  I enjoy the sound 😁   Thank you for any input!!!

Hello Amazon music suddenly stopped working on my Sonos Arc.  I get the attached error message.  I am definitely not using Amazon Music on any other devices.  Any one else ever have this issue?     

I was unable to reach my NAS’ music library. A couple of days it played music without any problems. So I resorted all my files; did a restart and my also I got the required updates, but still it says that there are ‘no selections are available. My MacBook does not have any problems to see all the folders though.Are there any tips?

This is a SONOS specific issue which the tech guys consider is beneath their attention. 

I have a pair of Play 1s. In the last few weeks, the connection to Sonos Radio and TuneIn keeps dropping to the point it is now unusable. I only play one station . I could spend 10 mins trying to get it to the play on one or the other and it will play for a while then drop out and then same again. It’s infuriating! Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

So I have been using the free version of Spotify with Sonos for some time, and decided to go for Spotify premium. Before I upgraded I tested that Spotify app as a free user, and was happy with the ability to control/cast to Sonos directly from the app. But after upgrading to premium it started failing. Has anyone experienced something similar? Controlling Sonos from Spotify:Shortly after upgrade to a family plan I was no longer able to successfully cast to Sonos, my devices will show up, but there is either just silence (while the app shows it is playing), or simply a failure to connect. After a connection failure the Sonos speaker will (strangely enough) start playing whatever was the last music/service it played. Weird. Sonos devices (Play 1 and Move) will however reliably show up in the connect list. This behaviour is consistent from both Android app (tested from two devices) and from the PC app. I have removed the Spotify service and reinstalled in the Son

Is this still an issue? Sonos should please figure out a way to play a recently added playlist continuously without splitting them up by albums, where we have to continuously go on the phone and pick the next song. This is quite trivial and seems like should be a simple fix. If the Playbar I bought 3 months ago can’t update to have Airplay then the least they could do is make it possible to play a playlist continuously...Has anyone figured this out yet? Thanks!

Please can you help, my sonos system will not connect to Spotify.  It keeps saying it has lost connection, I have tried all things I can find on the internet and still will not work.]Please can you help

Hi there, for the past couple of weeks I’ve been unable to connect to Apple Music. “We’ve run into a problem. Please try again.” Tried signing out of Apple Music, reinstalling sonos app etc. No luck. 

Hi all, A couple of weeks ago, yousee musik stopped allowing multiple streams to the same Sonos system (at least for my system).Have anyone else experienced this? And  do you know, if this is a bug or a new limitation from Yousee musik?BR Torben

After Stitcher eliminated my favorites playlist, I started looking for an alternative podcast platform to use between Sonos, Windows and Android.  I hoped to try Pocket Casts Plus under their free trial period, but when I try to add the service to either my S1 or S2 system, I authorize my account via the web page and it says ‘success’, but when I return to the ‘Add a Service’ dialog in the app, it says ‘Account not found. Unable to add Pocket Casts account.’

Hi.Has anyone had problems with Deezer on Sonos? I have lost most of my favorite tracks and a recent update has changed the my music category.It now has no my top tracks category where you could play your most listened to tracks.Im not happy.Anyone had same issues?

HiI have about 2500 MP3 files in my music library.When I start playing, everything is fine - but then I fx. watch some tv, when I again want to hear music and start playing the music library playlist it starts from number 1 again. Isn’t there a way that Sonos remember the last song played and can continue from there???It’s pretty stupid to listen to the same 10-20 songs again and again :)I know that I, via the app, can scroll down to the last played song or shuffle the songs. But I mainly use Google assistant voice commands to start and stop playing music.

Since recent Stitcher and asonos app updates for iOS equipment, both my iPhone 8 and iPad 2…. when I bring up stitcher to play podcasts on sonos, it lists all my podcasts…. Under shows… but no longer has them grouped like they are in the stitcher app.  So this means I have to scroll thru all my various podcasts to find what I’m looking for.before these app updates, the groupings came over int9 Sonos…. making it so much easier to find the podcast im looking for.sure would be nice 9f we could get these groupings back!

For some reason just recently using the Amazon music service within the Sonos app my Amazon Music Albums and Playlists recommended for me are all indian music, which I have never listened to before ever. any ideas what’s happened please.

HI, I have issues connecting to Tunein,  mostly where I am trying to listen to previous episodes (live radio seems to work OK - I mostly listen to BBC service). Sometimes when ‘listen again” playback does work, it will stop mid program and then I get the “Unable to  play...unable to connect”. I can always go to live radio at that point and it works 100% of the time - no connection issues. I have removed and reinstalled the Tunein service, rebooted devices etc.  I created a diagnostic report 1122795564.  Many thanks for your help

I have my Apple Music account linked to Sonos. When I browse “My Music” in the Sonos app, I can see all the albums that I have downloaded on my phone, but some (or in some cases all) of the songs are grey’d out. When I look at the same album on the Apple Music app, the songs are all available / not grey’d out. Any ideas / advice, please?

Hi, Sonos has suddenly started skipping all my tidal playlists tracks after more than a year and a half of working perfectly. I don’t believe anything in my system or Tidal has knowingly been changed. I don’t have any other instances of Tidal playing in the household. I have good download speed of circa 30Mb/s. Strangely if I open Tidal direct on my device I can play the same playlist perfectly to Sonos, I just can’t get Tidal to play from Sonos. Other music services play and I can play radio stations. My wife has the Sonos app on her phone and has the same issue. She doesn’t use the Tidal app. Any ideas? Thank you.
