I would like to write a Windows Defender Antivirus exclusion in the Windows Defender Security Center so that it stops barring Sonos from accessing the music folder. Has anyone tried this? You are allowed to chose from four exclusion options : file, folder, extension, or process. My money is on the process...if the Sonos process is allowed than all is well? Any thoughts on this or any suggestions on the process name. Possibly Sonos.exe as the process name? The above is spawned from my failed attempts to add my music library on a new computer. Got the library added after many hours and countless attempts but when I reactivate windows defender it turns on me and will not access my music.Grrrr.
I have recently problems( intermittent) to see my Sonos Playlists. Sometimes they load and sometimes not. Customer service informs that Sonos has/will discontinue Sonos Playlist function. Anyone knows anything?
The new app is so incredibly non-intuitive. I see many complaints. I imagine more would complain if they didn't have to create profiles to discuss in the community. The usability seems bad enough I am questioning selling my sonos equipment. Is there any out there who actually likes the new app interface? Are there advantages? Has Sonos management listened to customers on this issue? Thanks
It would be great to be able to sort tracks in a playlist alphabetically. I listen to a lot of podcasts and audiobooks that have a sequential order. The tracks normally start with a number, e.g., "001" and are in reverse chronological order, newest first. But I need to listen to them in chronological order, in order of creation. Without an alpha sort, I have to individually add each track to the playlist to get them in the right order. Thanks.
Why would Solos after years of hinting that Goggle play would work more seamlessly and would be able to incorporate Google Home then turn around and go with Alexa (have they even used Alexa? ) Google home will be the competing echo system to apple. If there is not a solution soon I will Kijiji my entire setup and move to a more compatible Wi-Fi speaker system that support the rest of my home set up. I started with SONOS and now that other companies have released their smart home tech the idea that not only has SONOS closed them selves off to future market share but also in not releasing a separate home remote to help with the disconnect is yet another blind spot in this organizations view. YEs you might have been there first and did it well but it takes one better product and in the race to integrated all together so then you are bound to one echo system SONOS has lost. Part two, why is there only one input for the sound bar? I have my television and a record player my Play 5 is hook
I have read the other threads and called sonos support, I know it's not my network after 3 years of zero issues I cannot play 2 songs in a row Very frustrated
The Sonos is currently connected to my secure wifi. I would like to have a friend play their iPhone music on the Sonos via the guest wifi. Is this possible? I'd rather not give out passwords to my secure wifi.
It would be a really neat feature to have some sort of party mode i could enable before the party, that would put MY controller as the master and all other controllers where guests. This way my guests that have connected to my sonos with their smart phone, can search for songs on my system but their only possibility is to queue the song(s) and not clear/skip the queue. Furthermore the guests shouldn't be able to stop/start/forward a song to break the rhythm and probably annoy the person that chose the current song playing. After the party is over, the master controller can just disable party mode and all controllers work evenly again.
When listening to a radio via Tune-In Radio, I get a little popup message displayed on the top left of my screen every time the feed changes, as in a new song or even goes back to the presenter in the studio. Its dam annoying and I cannot see how to turn it off. Does anyone know if there is a way.
I often need to move my music from Room A to Room B, shutting it off in Room A and starting it up in Room B. I use the red room name text at the bottom of the interface to do this. Unless I'm doing something completely wrong, it seems to be an overly complex multi-button operation to do this. Let's say I'm listening in Room A, and I want to move to Room B. I hit the red 'Room A' text and I get the list of available rooms. Sonos doesn't allow me to just uncheck 'Room A', check 'Room B' and hit 'Done' to move the music from Room A to B. I have to first add 'Room B' and hit 'Done' so that both rooms become active, showing 'Room A + Room B' text on the interface. Then I have to go back in and uncheck 'Room A' and hit 'Done' again to get the music only in Room B. Sometimes, this does not work properly and the interface still shows Room A and I have to do the whole thing again. This has been driving me nuts for a while now. I've always assumed it would be fixed in the next in
iPhone App is almost unusable. Very difficult to figure out where to click when you are in a given room and want to change the music source or station from a given music source that is playing, or want to make a change to a different room. U never know what screen will come up when you click. WHY DON'T ALL THE OPTIONS STAY LIVE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN FOR BROWSE, ROOMS, SEARCH ETC. I find it extremely difficult to navigate. Is there a decent video clip that explains this or is this new app version simply a terrible step backwards.
I copied my iTunes library to my NAS (iomega StorCenter ix2) and then added that NAS folder to my Sonos Music Library. I can play all the music files from that library via all the options (Artists, Albums, Composers, etc) except the Imported Playlists. When I select any song via the Imported Playlists, Sonos gives an error message: "Unable to play {song name} - the file \\.... cannot be found. It looks like Sonos cannot translate the pathname of the files from the iTunes library play lists to the "new" location on the NAS... or maybe I did not set up the NAS folder properly... Here is the complete error message: Unable to play '01 Paper in My Shoe.m4a' - the file \\HOMENAS\Homedata\Users\XXusernameXX\Muisc\iTunes\iTunes Music\Zydeco Dependents\Zydeco Dependents\01 Paper in My Shoe.m4a cannot be found This is the path to the iTunes library on my NAS: \\HOMENAS\HomeData\Deja Vu Backups\iTunes
Hi y'all... I have eight ceiling-mounted speakers in different rooms, two in each room. I want to add them to Sonos. If I use multiple Connect:Amps, can I pair the Connect:Amps? Thanks!
Is it possible to have two (or more) Sonos accounts within you own (1) network controlling one(or more) device. This idea in order to create separation between users, freeing up the favorites list to the individualized user (5 members of family all with different musical preferences) This way each could have their own personal speakers (in bed room for example) which would only be accessible from they're own acct, but then shared spaces (living room, kitchen) where each account could access the speaker system from their own account therefore allowing access to their own favorites list. All this with out creating a third account which would be a "family" account.
I have kids who listen to their sonos music too late. Can we have an "alarm" function that stops music playing at a set time?
I bought the coolest refrigerator with what Inwas told was an android tablet in the door. I quickly found out that it is not an android OS, but a limited/proprietary OS made by Samsung. It has TuneIn, Spotify, and other apps. Sonos should absolutely get the Sonos player in that app list! Someone who owns that refrigerator would likely be a sophisticated consumer and have Sonos products! And Sonos already has a relationship/partnership with samsung. Make it happen quickly please!
How do I play audio (e.g. soundtracks for movies and TV in iTunes) or stream internet content (e.g. netflx or iPlayer) from my iMac through my Sonos system? I've tried a phono lead out from the headphone socket on the Mac into a Sonos bridge "line in", but the sound was poor and very quiet. My music library is on my iMac, and that works fine.
I can make the update, ask me for an update I do and looks like all ready did but it keep as me for the update.
I know this is a low priority and small request, but I think it affects me a lot as a new Sonos owner. The App Icon for the Mac Desktop Controller looks super dated. Is there anyway to create an icon that is similar to the icon on iOS and consistently with the rest of your branding? Or at least the bold-colored flat UI Apple branding that has taken shape in the last couple version of Mac OS? It's important to me because I use the Mac Desktop controller more than I expected I would and it just looks so unsightly next to all my cleanly designed icons.
Latest update to controller software background "WHITE" is terrible and there needs to be a customization option to darken it. I do not WANT a flashlight when using the controller.
Looking for steps to control different rooms in your Sonos app? Here's an easy demonstration of how to change which room you're controlling. The red text of the room name pulls up a quick grouping menu that you can use to add other players to the group you're controlling. You can use that to sync rooms to play the same thing. It can also be used to move music playing in one room to another room. If this isn't working right, you may have some network latency causing trouble, the process to move music in this way takes a lot of steps behind the scenes and could fail if something goes wrong. If you need a hand, feel free to send us a message.
I hate to use the phrase "Airplay" but in a sense, that's what I'd like to do: Take the audio from a web site, such as http://coffitivity.com, and project it to the Sonos speakers in my office/family room.
It appears as if my entire iTunes library is not being indexed by Sonos. I checked the details of the songs some are in an m4p format. Others appear to be just regular mp3. My library is approximately 66 GB. How can I make sure it all syncs properly with Sonos?
I have 2 phones in my hands, both connect to my home wi-if. My iPhone connects to Sonos just fine. My Samsung will not, no matter what I try. Any suggestions?
