I have multiroom Sonos setup in 5 rooms which are often grouped together. I find it frustrating when I change the group volume and it changes all the speakers. I’d like to have the option to lock the volume for a particular room/speaker, maybe have a lock button next to the mute button, so that when you change the master volume it doesn’t change the sound level in that particular room. Alternatively an option in settings to disable the master volume control so that each room has to be adjusted individually, would be very handy, what do you think?
I have upgraded my Sonos and the speakers appear on my HomeKit ( on my iPad only. Not on my phone for some reason). I thought this would b enough to trigger a response when saying : hey Siri. But nothing happens and I have to revert to screaming at Alexa. Any clue on why that is ??
I see from reading through this forum a number of users want to prevent guests from using their Sonos system edpecially during gatherings. The issue I have is slightly different in that I don't wish to restrict guests to the Sonos system but restrict access to a particular room on the sysyem. In our case we have twin infants that we have Sonos in their room. On more than one occaision a guest will unintentionally blast music into their room waking them up. Upsetting not only the twins but us as well as we now have to deal with the babies and our guest. The ability to look a guest from accessing a particular room eould be of great benefit. Can this be done?
I have a playbar paired with 2 sonos ones. Thing have been working well. The playbar kicking in when I turn on the TV. everything is paired correctly I think. I can control the TV/playbar sound with my remote, which is what I want. I could also turn on spotify and control the music and the volume with the spotify app. Also, when I opened the Sonos app I could choose to turn the TV/playbar volume by selecting it in the app, but I would have to select it in the app. However, the problem is that now, recently for some reason whenever I try to adjust my phone volume, or manipulate the volume on my phone it changes the TV/playbar sound. I want to be able to change the volume on my phone, not on my TV. I don't need or want to control the volume on the TV with my phone. For some reason, it is linked. For instance, when I have the TV on the the background and I open up a video or an app on my phone I can't raise or mute the phone or app volume, I can only manipulate the TV / playba
SONOS software was updating and then went haywire and crashed my network of 7 SONOS units. Asked me to sign in but wouldn't recognise my password. Message said to reinstall all units which I did and then found that all my playlists built up over years had disappeared. On checking the forums this has happened before so why haven't you got some sort of warning message flashing up telling us the risk before reinstalling? You know what the issue is but have ignored it. I also can't believe that you haven't come up with a cloud based backup solution to avoid this situation. It must be fairly simple to do a Dropbox solution. Your customer service and support is second to none but I feel like throwing the lot out of the window and starting again with units which have more reliable and less clunky software. Very very disappointed.
I can play audible on my Sonos using my PC Sonos xontroller. However, audible books are not appearing in the Sonos app either in an android player or in my I-pad.
Hello Since the last IOS update I seem to loose speakers on my network, and those I can see won't play music These are the only one's sonos sees from 5. I've seen reference to the Controller 'auto-switching' between 2 networks .... not for me. I have to reset the controller to access the devices on each network. How can I have one controller which detects each network as appropriate?
My Logitech My Harnony Remote has added control of SONOS to its capability. The problem is that my saved radio stations will not play, and many times they freeze the remote. This is a new capability to the remote, and I can't seem to get an answer as to how to fix it.
When a song comes on in the sonos app. It would be nice if I could "like" that song and have it auto added to a Spotify playlist. This feature exists inside the app "SoundHound". This would make it easy to save music that I like when it comes on especially if someone else is linked to the same speaker with their account. I'd like to save their song to my account.
I just bought a Surface Go and intend to run with Windows 10 's mode. However, I miss the ability to run the Sonos Windows desktop app. Are there any plans from you to release your desktop app in the Windows Store?
Hi all. I like to watch the cricket on Satellite TV but listen to the radio commentary through Sonos. The issue is that the TV is 3.0 seconds behind the radio. Is there anyway to delay the Sonos stream to sync up ? Thanks Ian
Sonos app recognizes just one name but Alexa App calls same device Scott's Sonos One as well as Living Room. When asked a question Alexa responds that Living room is not online. Alexa App shows Scott's Sonos One is on line
With Sonos announcing that are expanding their developer program (Click here) and created some new API that operate through the cloud, it has me thinking of would want out of new/party controller app. The first thing that came to mind is that I want a single app that fully controls both my Sonos speakers and my pool. To give a little background, my pool has a 'smart controller' of sorts on it. I have an app (Hayward) that can control the pumps, heater, lighting, and the electrical board connected to my pool. It allows scheduling and creation of scenes as well. On the Sonos side, I've got outdoor speakers in place. So on a typical afternoon in the backyard, it's not uncommon for me to be switching between my Sonos and Hayward app. Although it's a 3rd world problem, wouldn't it be great if I could do all the usual changes through a single app? As added bonus, it would be great to be able to associate certain lighting schemas with certain Sonos favorites. How about turning
I went to use the Sonos app this evening and was prompted to check for updates. I was directed to the app store which didn't identify that I wasn't using the latest version, so my only option was to 'Open' rather than 'Get' the latest version. This sent me back to the update screen which has left me in an infinite loop of checking for updates only for no update to be found. Any suggestions? Currently running the new (and awful) 8.0 on an iphone 5s running ios 10.3.3. Trying to connect to a Sonos Play 1. Thanks
Hi all, I've recently moved to an iPhone X (from an iPhone 7), and noticed that I can no longer adjust the volume of the Sonos app using the iPhone volume buttons. On the iPhone 7, I was able to pickup the phone, and with out unlocking it, just adjust the playback volume by pressing the volume buttons on the side of the phone. Now, I have to unlock the phone and actually use the slider volume of the app itself. Even if the phone is unlocked and the Sonos app in the foreground, the volume buttons no longer seem to impact the Sonos volume playback. Does anyone else see the same behaviour. Perhaps I just need to tweak a iPhone X settings somewhere. Cheers, Rob
Received a Sonos Play:1. Looked into, can't use it. It's proprietary bs. Tried setting up but just get blinking amber light, factory resets, try again, try again... Don't have WiFi except for using Win 10 as a hotspot (PC hardwired to LAN)... One second my PC will 'see' it, then goes to amber, and fails to connect. In any case, I would like my account deactivated and removed from any mailing lists. And is my name attached to the device, somehow? If so, can this be removed, as well? I plan to give the device away. Also, constructive feedback, when the desktop app fails to connect, rather than making it impossible to exit the application short of killing the process via TM, maybe a exit button that actually works, or something like that, would be nice, rather than trying to force the user to continuously beat their head against a wall, with a 'Try again' button, and non functioning 'x', top right corner. Thank you.
Can I group one unit Sonos Play 1 with one unit Sonos One together in a bedroom and play ANY sound from the IPad and IPhone ? Example, watch any nonYoutube and non Netflix video ?
I have an existing play 1 that I want to Group with a new Sonos One. The purpose is to use the Airplay2 support on Sonos One to watch ALL video sources (youtube, Netflix, others) via IPad and iPhone. But without using Alexa voice control feature. Will such a group set up be stable ?
I would like to keep loudness on at low level but automatically turn it off at a higher...
Sounds like people have been getting an email describing how to obtain a voucher for each controller. Why haven't I received an email?
Resetting and losing playlists is not much fun so saving them somewhere to reimport would be a sensible addition.
Sonos systems lack any type of access control. As long as anyone has access to your home network (it could be your 8-year-old child using his/her iPod or a guest who came over), they can access your Sonos system and play the music they want. My 8-year-old daughter independently installed Sonos on her iPod and every time I am playing my favorite music, she hijacks the system and plays her teenager-style music. Once I had some guests over to my house from Italy. The guy installed Sonos on his phone and 2 minutes later my speakers were playing old-fashion Italian music. If one has an open network, you could imagine neighbors playing their own music at his house. I think that a Sonos system should be password-protected.
Hi. Could you add AppleScript support for the Sonos Desktop Mac App? AppleScript makes it easy for users & other Mac apps to control Sonos. Most music players on Mac have AppleScript support, like iTunes, Spotify, Deezer, Rdio, VLC etc. For instance, FinelyTuned is able to control iTunes, Spotify or Rdio via AppleScript. Unfortunately, it can't control Sonos yet, due to the lack of AppleScript support. Cheers.
I have an XBMC server that serves its library of music via UPnP. When I configure my Sonos to 'Show Rhapsody UPnP Servers', my Sonos controller will see XBMC and allow me to play music from it. However, there seems to be no means to enqueue an entire album... I must enqueue each song separately. Is there an option to enqueue entire albums from a UPnP server that I've simply overlooked, or is this action unavailable in the Sonos app?
