cannot update Sonos desktop controller for Mac

I have an update but when I try to update or re-install it is asking for user name and password. I know my password is right b/c I can sign into the Sonos website directly. I'm guessing that means my user name is wrong but it is pre-filling my user name with my first and last name. I've tried other variations as well including my email address as the user name (as you use when you sign into the Sonos website directly). Nothing is working. I'm in a dead end loop. Please help.

I think what your Mac is asking for is the login for the Mac, not the Sonos login, so that you are "authorizing" the update of the software. Try your Mac's login data, and see if that works.
