Had my Sonos Move a few weeks now & been loving it, perfect for what I wanted it for, however the last 2 days the sound quality has gone to a level of my old car stereo in my first Vauxhall Nova back in the day!! (And that was poor!) It sounds like it has something over the front of it….not muffled but the sound is far away rather then clear and ‘right next to you’…..sorry for the poor description, it’s quite hard to explain. It could be that I’ve pressed something without realising, at least I hope so after the cost of the speaker! Anyone had this & able to help? TIA
Hi, We are having problems with Spotify play via our Sonos App. The Sonos App plays all streamed music on the Sonos side, but as soon as i start Spotify and start a song via Spotify, it plays for a few seconds and then stops. the error message - Unable to play ‘Lost’ - the connection to Spotify was lost. Any advice is welcome!Cheers,Sanjay
I cannot get onto S1 App due to constant ‘Use Sonos S2 app’ message covering the whole screen. I’ve changed in profile for only email notifications but this is stopping me using my system at all. HELP. So annoyed with it all after spending so much money!
Hi,i use 5 Sonos speakers in SonosNET mode with a boost wired to the Ethernet. Additionally, i wired one of the Play:1 Speakers as well. If i do now chose to disable the radio (in the App) for the wired Play:1, all of my other speakers disappear, and only the boost and the wired play:1 is visible. In the Network Configuration, the Boost is setup as root bridge. I understand that this device should manage the sonosnet. So disabling the radio of the wired Play:1 should not interfere. Where’s my mistake?Maybe as a side note: The Play:1 and Boost which are wired are located right next to each other. I my idea was to disable the Play:1 radio to minimize network interferences.
I am getting cut outs and then a new song every few minutes, can someone help troubleshoot that for me? Diagnostics being submitted now
My Sonos One works perfectly when I’m just using it to stream radio / music but when I try and play something from my phone using Airplay firstly it will only connect about 50% of the time. It always shows the sonos one in the list of airplay alternatives but wont connect. When this happens I then try and use the same phone to connect to the Sonos app - this also fails but when I use the app to rectify the problem it will then connect. I can then connect my music app on iPhone to the sonos and it will start playing but after a few songs it will disconnect again. Does anyone have any ideas please? Some more info:I’m using a BT Homehub which I have physically connected to a second router in a different room for WiFi coverage. This second router uses the same ID and password.
I am having trouble with my One continually disconnecting form my WiFi network. I am able to setup and configure with the network cable plugged in. I then move the One to the room where I want it setup and have no problem connecting via WiFi for an hour or two. When I am done using the One or sometimes just after some time has passed, the One loses its connection to the network and I have to reconnect it to my WiFi using the cable. Is there a remedy for this?
Everything was working fine, I have an arc and two sonos one, all of a sudden the system is unable to connect to the wifi, it works for a couple of seconds, stops, then I get the sonos warning message: wifi extender message… Please, let me know what to do. Thanks.
Hello,My Gen2 Sub is a room separate from the Amp, wifi is enabled on the Amp. Sub will occasionally connect but then no sound, and Room (+?) showing on controller. I’ve submitted a diagnostics report and chatted multiple times with Support without being able to fix the problem.
I have Autoplay set to on for my turntable hooked up to my Five. My TT has a phono preamp built in. It plays nicely but it doesn’t autoplay. I have to go into the S2 app and manually do it. I want this to be seamless but does not seem to work. Any assistance or advice would be appreciated.
I have 10 Sonos speakers in various rooms, 9 of which are usually played together as a group. (There’s also a Sonos Connect that connects to a receiver for wired speakers, but even when that’s turned off this problem persists, so I’ll ignore that.)Been using the system for several years and the same problems have been there the whole time. Just finally wanted to do something about it.Often, when I first start playing something (such as choosing a song from Apple Music on my phone), it will start playing on some speakers, then some speakers will cut out for a few moments, then return, and then everything is fine. Sometimes at some point it’ll just abruptly stop, perhaps hours later, but usually it’s fine. I set an alarm every night to turn on white noise for sleep. Sometimes after a few seconds the white noise cuts out, and instead it starts playing the Sonos standard alarm chime instead for some reason. That’s rare, but it happens. The app (whatever the latest one is, with the brownish/
Thank you, and well done Sonos. I had an issue with my Playbase/Sub connection, which I thought was the Sub playing up - it would only work on a wired connection whilst my surrounds were still fine on SonosNet. Having tried all the reboot router/speakers etc options, and then trying wired/wireless combinations, I submitted a Diagnostic and got a reply from Support within a few hours. Turns out it was the Playbase wifi - nothing to do with the Sub - and very soon I received the paperwork to return the unit for a replacement. The replacement unit arrived today, less than a week after the faulty one was returned. It’s now powered up, updated, has got my Sub and Surrounds added, and is delivering 5.1 sound over SonosNet just like the old one. And it sounds so much better than sound through the TV speakers - my wife was even forced to admit it! THANK YOU, SONOS.
Hi Sonos Community, I’m having intermittent audio drop issues with my Sonos Roam. This only occurs when I am listing to TV audio. All other devices do not have this problem. Here is my setup. I have a Sonos beam that is connected to my TV via HDMI optical cable. I group my Sonos Play1 and roam to the Sonos beam so i can get surround sound with my TV audio. My Play1 does not drop its audio. I am using a wireless setup. I’ve noticed that my Roam is connected to my 5ghz network and everything else is connected to 2.4. Would this cause my problem. I don’t know how to change the Wifi connection for my roam from 5 to 2.4? Additionally, when I group all three speakers to a music service like Spoitfy or XM these audio problems do not happen, only with TV audio. I’ve read the “reduce wifi interference” article and I am unable to change my channel connection as the option is grayed out on my sonos app and through my network configurations. Do I have any other options? Thanks!John
The issue is the sonos app very rarely connects to my wifisince everything is done through the app, its very hard to troubleshoot or do anything with my sonos system.I have sonos beam and 3 x sonos 1’s, i have bought a roam but can’t get it setup because the app simply won’t work on the wifi. I do have the sonos app on my pc that works fine.I have the same problem on both mine and my partners phone (apple and android) I have had sonos for 7 + years, and it is only recently when the s2 app was released did things stop working. I can sit near the wireless router and it won’t connect from my phone, other apps on the phone fine, sonos “can’t connect to wifi”All sonos devices are on wireless around the house and they workI have a peleton on wireless that streams video - no issueSo its not wireless signal or the strengthReading around the forums and this community this seems to be a common problem. The articles of “restart your router” or “is the device powered on” are of little to no help
HiMy playbar is not powering up, no light. I have tried all the usual checks without success. Sonos advice is to buy another one!!! I have read of a number of similar concerns by others, and a few solutions costing vey little. Any advise as to these repairs would be appreciated. Thank you.
throw away my new Move won’t work the way I want anymore good by Sonos
Howdy,Currently, I have an Audio Technica AT-LP40WN turntable (with integrated pre-amp) connected to a couple of Fives set up as a stereo pair (all up-to-date. 13.1, S2, Build 63289050). I’ve had them since November and until about a week ago, they were flawless. Now, when I try to play a record, it no longer autoplays. I have to either select the input in the app, unplug the line-in connection at the speaker and plug it back in, or turn the whole turntable off to get the audio to play.Previously, I just had the needle drop and it started, regardless of whatever else I was streaming at the time. I have made no changes to the set up. I’m using the same connector cord, the turntable is set to line, I haven’t changed any hardware component, and the autoplay settings are the same (autoplay to the stereo pair only, no autoplay volume, source level 10, and low audio delay). Here’s a brief history of the issue:A couple weeks ago, again not correlated with any system changes because I had made
For the last few days I have been unable to control my Sonos Move via the Sonos App. After several months of working without issue, the Sonos App reports my Move as being “Offline” however, I can use Apple AirPlay to stream music with the Move and it still plays the TuneIn radio station I have set as a daily alarm in the Sonos App. Have tried turning off and on but no luck so far. Any ideas before I do factory reset? I have other Sonos speakers on the same network and they are working fine….
We have been experiencing a problem with the Sonos spontaneously stops working then reappearing (sometimes). After many hours of looking at routers WiFi etc etc we think we found the problem.I have 2021 iPad Air, my partner has the older iPad we only have the issue when using my iPad iPadOS 14.4.2. No issues with older iOS 12.5.2so before you pull your hair out with WiFi settings etc this may solve your issue.equ- Play 5 1st generation And Connect to my amp.Sonos - please sort thanks.
I’ve been using Sonos with Spotify for many years now, and have always been able to play different songs in different rooms without any problems. However, after receiving and setting up my Roam earlier today, this is no longer the case… :-(Every time I try to start playing one song in one room, and then start another in another room, the first room stops playing, and the Sonos App (S2) says the following:«Playback stopped in XXX. The Spotify account is beeing used elsewhere» (May not be 100% correct, as it is loosely translated from norwegian, but anyway)And yes, before anyone suggest the limitations related to Alexa/Google etc; this is using the native Sonos App only. No Spotify Connect involved either ;-)If there has been made any changes to the terms and conditions, and/or how the integration with Spotify (and other services) works, and this is the case, I cannot recall being «warned» about this. The ability to play different content in different rooms with one (1) Spotify-account has
Alright - these things are an absolute nightmare to reconnect. Good lord do I not need all these dumb bells and whistles I just want to watch tv with some sound. had a power surge and lost power the other night and now everytime I turn on the tv the soundboard is dead/off. I have to unplug it everytime to get sound. Everytime I open the app it’s just a spinning wheel of reloading until it tells me they can’t detect the device. I’m on the correct wifi channel, I’ve restarted the modem the router I’ve moved the Ethernet port of the Sonos base or whatever absurd name it is for basically just being a signal booster and I’ve restarted the sound bar. The closest I get to reconnecting every time is when the app asks me to join the “Sonos WiFi” and shockingly since there is no Sonos wifi the connection fails. I’ve tried to factory reset and get to this point again. I’ve deleted and redownload the app and still get to this point. I just want to watch tv. I’m one day away from unplugging this t
I’m about to try one last thing - rebooting my phone but so far nothing has worked and I’ve tried everything else. My devices didn’t show up in Sonos either. I had to reboot one and then after that the others showed up magically! I’ve reported problems like this before and Sonos customer support is hopeless. I’ve made due with the quirks but tonight my Sonos “system” learned a new trick! Airplay doesn’t work! It worked earlier today but for some reason it stopped. So I went to use AirPlay but it didn’t work. My Sonos devices dropped weren’t showing up in the app so I figured they dropped off the network for some reason ( oh and for the record, they were still connected to the wifi and router I could ping them) Well now they are in the Sonos app but still can’t air play to them! I’m going to reboot my phone but this is pretty annoying Usually getting them back in the Sonos app fixes the problem… Anyone else having this problem? Oh and this website blows on a phone. Scrolling b
I am going to try a WiFi 6 mesh router with extenders for my home. I have consistently had audio issues with my Sonos system in my very narrow, 3 story urban home. The system works well enough that I don’t get too frustrated, but when I push it (playing music library on lots of speakers, for example, I often get dropouts or songs that just stop due to throughput issues. I would like get some sort of signal quality info on the system BEFORE I install the new mesh system and AFTER so I can see if the new system is an improvement. What do you suggest I do to test this? Thanks, John
I have been trying out the Cloudflare WARP VPN. Whenever I am connected to WARP the Windows Sonos app cannot find my Sonos system. Anyone else using WARP? Any ideas or fixes?
