I have brought my Sonos system into a new home already fitted with a Legrand OnQ Cat5 LyriQ whole house sounds system. I have four areas served by this system including an outdoor, covered deck - the system seems to use a line in signal which is amplified at each location through an amp built into the wall control. Getting support from Legrand on this system has been an exercise in futility. What I'm wondering is if I need a Connect or a Connect:Amp for this system to stream music to these non-Sonos areas? My instinct tells me its a Connect only, but I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with a similar system - past whole house systems I had needed to be amplified at the source which was then connected to the whole house speaker selector, not this one.

When, if ever, will the matte black SUB be reproduced? I refuse to buy the glossy version after seeing a friend of mine's scratched and dust covered. On top of the cosmetic damage the SUB doesn't look right with the other products on the shelf currently!

Hi, I'm in the process of installing some in ceiling speakers in my (UK based) house. I've got a Sonos amp (the newer black model) and I'm running it to a Monitor Audio Stereo In Ceiling Speaker in the bathroom (AWC265-T2 https://www.smarthomesounds.co.uk/monitor-audio-awc265-t2) and using this 16 gauge, 2 core cable(https://www.smarthomesounds.co.uk/16-gauge-2-core-speaker-cable). My question is, do I need to run 2 individual lengths of this (2 core) cable to the speaker, or 4 individual lengths of cable? I believed it was 4 lengths, but the AV installer said it was just 2. I just bought the new Sonos Amp so I could add my long time Bose Acoustimass speakers that I use in my basement office (plus be able to hear the turntable and CD player on my other Play 5's elsewhere in the house). Any thoughts on why I might be missing most of my bass response on this setup? I've adjusted the speaker settings in the Sonos app to full bass and 3/4 treble. But still getting hardly any sound out of the Bose bass reflex speaker on the floor. Additionally, the volume level is probably 75% while running CD player and/or turntable through the Amp.

Hi Folks. Are the Sonos Outdoor by Sonance speakers "stereo" in that the should are supposed to work together as 2 channel speakers? Or, can I mount them fairly far apart so I can get more "coverage" in my yard?

Does anyone know of a quick solution for using Sonos where not powersockets are available? (I have seen some solutions online that seem to require some altering, which I don't want to do, so a solution that doesn't disrupt the integrity of the Sonos product)

There have been questions about the high frequency response of the Sonos Amp. User hodgeal posted a very interesting plot showing the frequency response of the Sonos Amp using the software REW. It didn't show excessive high frequencies in that single test. I had the opportunity to compare the Sonos amp to my Peachtree amp using the same software (which is very useful and easy to use - thanks hodgeal), and this provides a comparative test of the Sonos Amp frequency response. The Peachtree Nova 125 SE amp is well-respected in the audio community. It is a class D digital amp, same as the Sonos Amp, but as far as I can tell uses different chips. The test uses Duntech Marquis speakers and a Studio Projects C1 microphone. The mic is setup on-axis at a distance of 120cm, which is pretty standard. But none of the details should matter because this is a comparison under identical conditions - I simply swapped amps and repeated the test. And the results? As you can see, the amps

How does one wire up 6 connects to one amplifier (episode 12d 70w)? I have 6 rooms hardwired for speakers. There are 2 global in puts but that doesn’t help connecting 6 zones. Do I connect the Sonos connect RCA outputs to the amps Ch 1/2, 3/4, etc.? If so, does that mean I can’t add any more connects in the future?Shouldn’t I be able to technically add 12 connects since it’s a 12 channel amp? Shouldn't there be a red/white RCA for each channel? I recently added a Netgear Range extender to a room that was having trouble getting a strong wifi signal but not for Sonos use. I have a Bridge and a mix of 7 different Sonos Components. Now, I keep getting a message that "Some Sonos players are using the wireless connection from your range extender device. You will be unable to play music in a group of rooms including such a player. To ensure playback in all grouped rooms, you will need a Boost or a player permanently wired to your router." I have a Bridge hardwired to my router. I don't know how a device connected to the extender and I can't figure out which one it is. I have even unplugged the extender and I'm still getting the message. I have been able to play all of my units in groups but I'm getting some occasional drop out. Today, everything is working well but I keep getting the message anytime I change groupings. Any suggestions?

what does the colors mean on the sonos. intermittent white, solid purple, and yellow. Next to my computer the sonos is illluminating white at the tv it is intermittenting yellow, and the wall plug is purple. what is happening?

Does the CONNECT Amp need to be hard wired to network with ethernet cable or can it access network via wifi (as the Sonos One does)?

Where would outdoor speakers need to be placed in order to take advantage of the phantom center channel that can be created with using the new AMP and Sonance Mariner Speakers? If I were to get two mariners and the amp, the mariners would most likely be a bit behind the viewer/listener.

I have had a pair of Sonos bookshelf speakers connected to a ZP100 since about 2004. They have moved with me through six house moves. Two weeks back, burglars decided the ZP100 would look better in their house than mine. They left the speakers behind. I'm now wondering whether I should get another Connect:Amp or go for another option (like possibly two Ones). The speakers are in a unit that was designed to accommodate bookshelf speakers vertically. I'm not interested in home theater and only want it for music. The occasional party. The room is quite big and in a double volume space so I need a decent amount of sound. That said, the Sonos speakers have been fine so far. They just don't seem to sound as good as the newer Sonos speaker sets (I have a Play 5 too). So, any recommendations?

Has anyone tried the outdoor enclosure for Connect:AMP made by Altelix? It seems to be just the solution I’m looking for but I can’t find any reviews and it’s not inexpensive. Last Black Friday I bought the Best Buy Connect:Amp + Sonance Outdoor Speaker bundle. Like many, I would like to watch tv/movies in addition to listening to music outdoors. I know the new Amp handles this specifically. And I realize that the Connect:Amp is not well suited to receive audio from a TV (no HDMI in, just two RCA in jacks) and those who have tried experience a lag, however I’m wondering if anyone has tried something like this HDMI to HDMI + Audio (SPDIF + RCA Stereo) Audio Extractor Converter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BIQER0E/ I’m thinking of sticking a Fire Stick or running an HDMI from my laptop into it, and splitting the video to HDMI to an outdoor monitor or projector and the audio to RCA into the Connect:AMP (outdoor speakers). So I have hooked up the new Amp and given it a thorough listening. I am impressed. My prior setup was B&W 683 Floorstanders into a Audiolabs MDAC Pre/DAC to a Bryston 3B-ST Amp. My streamer of choice was a RPi3B+ running PiCorePlayer and the Squeezelite software attached via USB to the MDAC. I was a longtime Spotify user but I recently switched to using Apple Music while my wife still uses Spotify. Spotify had a squeezebox plugin so it worked well (though the Spotify Connect implementation was flaky at times). I also have over 1000 CDs ripped to ALAC on a home server. This was a great sounding setup but I found the airplay unreliable and no native Apple Music support (other than airplay) with Squeezebox so I have been looking at other options. Since native apple music support is limited to Sonos, it was an easy choice, I just had to choose what to get. I have a basic question; how do you switch the source from from wireless streaming to RCA inputs? Also, I am not able to locate a user manual for the Sonos Amp..Is there one, and if so, where is it hiding?

Currently I have the Sonos amp paired with BW 685 S2, and a Def Tech Pro sub 800, which are sounding great. In terms of speaker upgrades available to me in the future, what would you consider the top/best speakers that you’d pair with the Amp before you’d have to consider a much more expensive amp or something different? What logically works with it and takes full advantage of the speaker in the top end for the Amp? I know the 685s S2 are going to be much lower on the audiophile totem pole, even though they are good speakers, there is a lot of room in the amp it seems for more as well. You can answer subjectively, or even objectively - like if a speaker pair is over a certain budget, like $2k, chances are it may outclass the amp, etc. Just curious what the ceiling is.

I have 3 x Sonos (Play:1, 3 & 5) & a Bridge and would love to get some bluetooth wireless headphones to link up to the Sonos. However, all the discussion I've seen so far is to do with a Connect. I don't have that and don't intend to purchase one at £350! I have a Bridge. Is there any way to get wireless bluetooth headphones to work to what I have?

Hi, I have a HiFi system consisting of an amp and 2 speakers. I would like to attached a Sonos Connect and link the amp output to the Sonos Connect input. I understand the Sonos Connect automatically detects input. My question is if this also automatically turns on any other Sonos speakers I have at home? I would like to achieve the following - when there is music playing on my amp, I would this to turn on all my Sonos speakers and start the music playback on all of them. Please note that I cannot do the other way around, which is linking Sonos Connect output to amp input, due to the nature of my set up. Thanks!

Can I connect my Project Debut Carbon Esprit SB directly to Sonos Play 5 (Gen 2) without the use of an amp?

I’m curious if any of the members have owned “Hifi” amps and have switched over to the new Sonos Amp. How does the Sonos Amp perform? I own vintage Mcintosh amps in two setups currently. Thanks for you opionions. Sorry if this has been discussed, new member here.

Hi, I wonder if using 4 120W 8 ohm speakers in parallel in a Sonos AMP is safe? I know that each channel in the AMP is 125W and I'm afraid of damaging the speakers if I turn up the volume to high. Please anyone help me here? Thanks!

Hi all I have the bar, woofer and 2 sonus 1’s at the rear of the room. Works great until I put sky q on then the sounds normal ie no bass and the back speakers don’t work. Any advice would be appreciated !!
