I have gone through the setup process which was cumbersome as the connect amp and speaker wires all home run to a closet downstairs.  So I got a 50’ ethernet cable and direct connected the connect Amp to the playbar in the family room below the TV.  I set up the surrounds and they worked.I unplugged the 50ft ethernet cable however the Playbar and the Connect Amp are still both hard wired connected to ethernet and the same router.  When I unplug the 50ft ethernet cable the surrounds turn off even though I set it up as instructed and both the playbar and the connect amp in the closet are hard wired to ethernet.I have done this from scratch 5 times to make sure I am not doing anything wrong  Certainly there has to be a solution other than having a 50 ft cord from the closet to the family roomAny suggestions on what to do to make these work as surrounds given my configuration?

Hey, I´d like help with confirming that the plan in my head is actually viable in reality aswell. I just picked up an old vinyl player and I want to use this together with my current and future Sonos speakers. I´m gonna buy a pre-amp for the vinyl player in order to get it to line level. I have 5 Symfonisk speakers and I´m looking to buy a Sonos Arc to pair with my TV. What I´d like to confirm is that I will be able to use the Vinyl player together with the Symfonisk and the Arc and that the Symfonisk will also work as rear speakers for the Arc together with the TV. Is that possible by only buying a Sonos Connect gen 1? A second question, do the Connect gen 1 work over Wifi or is it in need of a ethernet cable? Best regards & Thanks

First of all, I am pleased with AMP (non Connect) performance (and quality) driving B&W 803 series 3 and connected 3rd party SubWoofer.But I noticed that SONOS is more focused on its ARC than recent other products.So I wonder, if we as SONOS AMP customers are left in the dark on future features/support/etc...Feature request;Phantom speaker, ability to manually focus center and or volume level. Dolby Atmos (compressed) support over Dolby Digital + AMP should be able with its memory and CPU power to wireless drive additional SONOS/Symfoniks as Atmos speakers. Some Room calibration with non SONOS speakers, distance input, db level, etc…  S1 on Play5 gen1 and AMP supported HiRES 24bit/48kHz FLAC's , S2 did not bring any additional HiRES support on AMP. 24bit/192kHz FLAC support on AMP / S2So I regret I did firmware/OS upgrade from S1 to S2 on AMP.S2 did not bring any additional audio/quality support.

Looking for some help. I have a turntable connected to a Yamaha amplifier. I’m trying to use a Sonos port to then connect this to the rest of my Sonos speakers. The Yamaha amp also has speakers connected to it (non-Sonos) that I’d also like the audio to play through at the same time. However when setting up in the same room as a Sonos arc there is a noticeable delay in the audio. I’ve decreased to the minimum audio delay but still noticeable. Can someone advise? There is no delay when all speakers are being used to stream audio bough Spotify, it only seems to be when using the turntable to play vinyl (which is the reason I bought the port in the first place!) ive attached an image of my amp. I currently have the ‘audio in’ from the port going into REC and the ‘audio out’ going into the PB. 

Wanted to know if you can use wireless headphones with a sonos port system? Bluetooth?

I'm adding a Rega Planar 1 turntable to my Sonos system. Could I get better sound using my own amplifier and Port vs. just the Amp?

Having traded up to a Port from a Connect which had an optical output to my receiver, would using a coax to optical converter lose quality? If so should I just used the analogue inputs, or is digital always the better choice? Any thoughts?

Has Sonos removed the ability to control an aftermarket sub and speakers with the amp. I know they took this feature away from the Mac desktop app. Now it looks like they took it out of the mobile app.Looks like you can no longer set the crossover between external sub and passive aftermarket speakers. Nor can you adjust the aftermarket sub level.I adjusted this just yesterday. Then this morning noticed that the subwoofer was very overpowering. I went to the mobile app to turn down the sub level and noticed any subwoofer and speaker adjustments were gone.

I have a upgraded my system to a Sonos Port in my living room connected to my router by Ethernet cable and connected to my amp in another room by Ethernet cable.The problem I have is that despite a very good WiFi signal in the room containing the amp, I am unable to connect to it!!! And keep getting the message “unable to connect to device, try again later”with the olde connect amp I had no problems whatsoever and I am at a loss on how to fix the problem?

Not trying to start up a flame war, but I’m genuinely at a decision point and need some opinions.I LOVE(ED?) SONOS for a long time...I probably don’t have as extensive of investment as some of you (I only have Connect:AMP, 2x Play1 and 1xPlay5)...but, investment nonetheless.Mostly, my setup does exactly what I need...I have very little interest in changes, can’t think of any new features that I need (except maybe to have Sonos stop breaking the features I have! [hello, lock screen controls?])I would like to buy myself a soundbar for Christmas (although it looks like they aren’t shipping from sonos.com until Feb’21 :( )  Hence the decision point...should I keep investing? Will Sonos let me live forevermore with my “legacy” S1 devices...until they physically stop working?  I have no first hand experience with Sonos lifecycling products out.  Currently, I’m seeing the 30% ‘incentive’ to rid the world of older devices.  My fear, if I do nothing, in the next 18-24 months...there will ultima

When I plug my optical audio into the receiver the sound doesn't come through. But when I used my Xbox as a receiver it worked just fine. I can not find a solution. 

I recently bought a Sonos subwoofer and im trying to get it to play with the Sonance ceiling speakers.  I have a Sonos amp and port.  Im having issues getting the subwoofer to integrate into this set up.  Is the Sonos subwoofer compatible with the Sonance speakers?

Dear all,I have an implemented sound environment containing Beam (connected to TV), Sub and several Ones. Everything worked just perfect until I decided to connect my vinyl player to my sound equipment. I purchased Amp specifically for that purpose expecting that it would be able to take vinyl as input and stream it to existing equipment as output. However, it was not possible to add Amp to existing sound group during the setup, so it was only possible s to set it up as separate equipment group with separate output speakers. Is it possible to implement scenario I described above? If yes, what should be done to implement it?

I have Sonos Connect pre-installed in my apartment. There are speakers in the living room as well as the bedroom ceilings. Since the beginning both have always played together and I’ve never distinguished between the two in settings or anything. But I just noticed that the bedroom speakers are not playing any audio. I’ve also been having problems with music dropping off for several seconds and then coming back on.  Can you tell me what I need to do to get the music playing again in the bedroom? Have already tried unplugging the power of the Sonos box for 10 secs and plugging back in.

I’d like a nice stereo setup I can use with my tv as well as for streaming music and have settled on the Sonos Amp to act as the hub due to the compact size and it has all the connectivity I want.  I want to add on Sonos Ones in other rooms eventually. Now I really like the Wharfedale Denton 85s, but am slightly confused by all the different power ratings.  These speakers have a nominal impedance of 4ohms (min 3.8) and the manufacturers website recommends an amp of 20-120W.  The Sonos Amp is rated at 125w at 8ohms but that goes to 250w at 4ohms.  Would this be a problem?  Can an amp really have too much power for passive speakers?  Or will it just be overhead I’m not using? Any advice appreciated, cheersPete

I am looking for a way to connect our reciver to our sonos speakers so that we can get sound from smart TV, Dish, PS4, DVD player, etc to play over existing wired speakers and sonos speakers at the same time.  I am assuming there is another component we need to connect the reciever and the sonos speakers, however after reading through the descriptions of what’s available, it’s not clear to me what I need.  Any advise is appreciated. 

Hello, I own a Sony - Bluetooth Stereo Turntable and I am using a Sonos Five with a (cheap) pre-amp to connect them to my Sonos system (Beam+2Ones+Sub) so I can get all my speakers working. Currently I am not happy at all with the sound because it sounds cheap. I think there should be a way of getting a nice sound from the turntable. I am thinking on the following: Buying the Sonos Amp and use it to connect the turntable to the Sonos system and probably get rid of the Sonos Five.  Upgrade my current preamp to a better one like Pluto 2 or Pro-Ject Phono Box, keep the Sonos Five for the Line-In but I am not sure if this will upgrade my sound as much as I want it. Any thoughts on this? I have the Sonos system and the Turntable+Sonos Five in the same big room.  Thank you all!

Hello I want to connect a turntable to a ZP90 with a Move speaker. Do I need a turntable with a pre amp?

So!!! I’m trying to get my tv to run through my Sonos system. I have a Sonos amp the older one, purely for a sub. Tv only has optical out and amp only has Rca in, so I bought a converter but can’t get sound to come through. Any help? 

Can someone confirm that the Sonos Port (which requires a 3rd party amplifier) is NOT compatible with a Sonos Sub?  I believe the reason for this is that the Sub must pair directly to a Sonos component that has built in amplification (Amp, Sonos speakers).  A Sonos port cannot plug directly into a third party amplifier.I realize there are hacks around this (pair the Sub with a Sonos speaker then group the speaker/Sub with the Port, eg.) but I do not want to do this.   If any of this is factually wrong, please educate me.

Hi there! I am about to own a turnable and was wondering if i can have a fully analog path from turnable to sonos play 5 speaker?I found some forum posts about this issue but i think was other users telling their opinion and couldn’t manage to figure out how signal path works. I would like some sonos official answer about this! Some users in this forum claim that once the analog signal from line-in reaches play-5 speaker whether or not this speaker sends data to other speakers the a/d conversion is the only path through.So does every signal from line in is converted in digital and then optionally sent to other sonos devices and each device makes the d/a final conversion? If so, is there any way to bypass the the a/d part of the a/d/a process?If not what do i need to do to have a fully analog path? Thanks a lot!!

Hi, I have a Sony WH-1000xm4 headphone.   Can I connect this to my Sonos Arc soundbar ?

I’m looking to add an in wall subwoofer to my sonos home theater system. Currently I have an arc center channel and then 2 sets of architectural in wall speakers running to 2 separate amps for front/back, left/right. I would like to run two subs, one to each amp. Any recommendations on in wall subs to use? As well, what connections work best to get the most sound?
