I understand that using a Port to stream music to non-Sonos speakers though an AV receiver works great.  But if you want to group your Port (room) with Sonos speakers in another room (I have Sonos Ones) there is a delay.  So it is out of sync.    One solution is to use direct mode (or similar modes) on the AV receiver, but that takes away the sub and room equalization, etc.    So is anyone using the Port with an AV receiver, and has been able to use modes other than pure/direct (or whatever the AV receiver calls it) - and still have it sync with grouped Sonos speakers?  I would like to use All CH Stereo with my AV receiver (where all speakers play, including the sub).  But not sure if that is considered “processing” that will introduce delay.  At a minimum, I would like to use Stereo (which uses the sub and equalization).  

I have a pair of Sonos 5 which has a turntable with inbuilt pre-amp in the line in port. I intend to get a standalone Marantz CD player with no pre-amp. Would I need an amplifier to use it with the Sonos 5 line in?

I have a turntable that I want to play over my pair of Play 5s. Bought a Port, plugged in and it's only playing over one Play 5, but other sources still play as paired. What am I doing? 

Upgraded the connect:amp in the garage (to play music over outdoor wired speakers) to the amp (so we could also play the outdoor tv over the speakers).  Want to repurpose the connect:amp indoors to work with a turntable and wired speakers.  Anyone have the perfect budget setup they recommend?

Hi - I’m putting together a 2-channel audio setup featuring a turntable. I already have an older model Connect device. I’m wondering, if I wire like this:Turntable >preamp > Connect Analog In > Connect Analog Out > receiver > speakersWhen listening locally, will the signal be converted to digital at some point? Mainly, by going in and out of the Sonos Connect using the analog ports, will the signal remain analog all the way through for my local receiver?I realize that when streaming to another device it will be converted, but I’m looking for a way to keep the signal analog when listening locally.Thanks.

I have a connect amp in my 2nd floor bedroom that runs from the floor outside into the outside of our house to house 2 Sonance speakers for our pool area.I was looking at wireless (Bluetooth) enabled subwoofers like the OSD outdoor Bluetooth subs since I do not want to hire someone to run speaker wire again from my bedroom to the outside.Can a non-Sonos outdoor Bluetooth sub be connected to my existing Sonos system?Thanks!

I have a Sonos amp hardwired to two inside speakers. If I add a second amp to control two hardwired outside speakers will the app allow streaming the same music at the same time on both amps?

Want to set up record player with built in pre amp to my existing Sonos play 1s and beam. Is this possible to do with the connect only ?   

Hi, i’m using a Sonos Port supplying a pair of Devialet Phantom Reactors. My question is, since these speakers have a slightly longer processing time that can’t be avoided, is it possible, when in multiroom to have a facility on the app to introduce a delay slider on other sonos products so I can sync them, I have a stereo pair of moves and although they are very good, the delay makes it sound like i’m in a cave when using both port and moves.TIA

I have a Port connected to an Audiolab 6000A amp in a rack in my garage, connected to speakers in the house.   The amp always starts at a default volume level of 0db. At this level, the Port’s output is very low and I either have run the Sonos App at near full volume or go out to the garage and turn the amp up manually every-time it’s turned on.  I’ve set up the 12v trigger so I can turn it on via Sonos in the house and don’t think I should have to trudge out to the garage to manually turn the volume up every time… Am I missing a trick? What’s the difference between Variable and Pass-Though output on the Port? I thought Pass Through was more for AV set ups (mine is just for music) but would this work better? Would the Amp be compatible?

I have a Pioneer SX455 receiver connected to a cd player and a turntable. I would like to use a Port to play receiver output on Sonos speakers. Can I connect speakers out to line in on Port using speaker wires that are bare wire on one end and rca plug on the other? 

What comes with the Arc? We purchased open box at Best Buy at a discount however nothing in box except the soundbar.

I want to connect a pair of JBL control 60PS/T subwoofers to my Sonos system. they are not powered. Is it possible to connect the sub out on the Sonos amp to line in on another amp (not Sonos) to power the subs? I’m not too familiar with audio installations. Hope the question makes sense.  

HiI have two Fives and a Gen 3 Sub connected together in one room and all are working well.  I have just connected up a new Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB turntable to my RH Five and I can get audio through that speaker but cannot get the sound to come out of the LH Five, nor the Sub.  I have looked online with no success for an easy fix, can someone please help to get this audio to play on the “room” (three speakers) and not just this one?  I have the S2 App running on a fairly new iPhone.  Thank you in advance!Sharon 

Hi: Thanks for any insight.I am looking to upgrade my receiver.I am looking for confirmation on what the difference might be for a “Works with Sonos” certification for something like an ONKYO vs. a receiver that doesn’t have that distinction i.e. a Denon …If I purchase along with a new Sonos port, will both systems be able to join my existing Sonos network? Is the difference that I would be able to power on and control the volume of the Onkyo receiver via the Sonos app and with a Denon, I would need to power on and control volume outside of the Sonos app?  Thanks for any help with anyones experience with Sonos port and or those who have a receiver that includes the “works with Sonos” distinction. Also, is the port way better than Sonos connect or will both do a similar job. 

Has anyone successfully connected their turntable to a ZP100 using the Behringer PP400? I’m on my second unit and getting nowhere. I have a Dual 604 with a Shure M75ED cartridge which works fine with my separates system and I’m struggling to believe they could supply two faulty preamps!!! Any help appreciated.

I have a smart Samsung Tv and a sonosbeam bar and speakers.  Can I connect a CD player through the tv?  If I use a Sonos Port, do I need an amp or receiver?Jeff

I have an just acquired Sonos Port and want to play music from my old separates system through an old PioneerA400 amp to Sonos Speakers and Music through the Sonos Port to my none intelligent speakers but am struggling with the set up to be honest can anyone help 

I’ve recently got a sonos amp for my living room that has 6 in-ceiling speakers at 8 ohm. Can the amp power all three pair of speakers? I know sonos says maximum 4 speakers i parallel, and 6 if it is the sonos architectural. But as I can see those have the same ohm as mine, and the impedance should become the same?Thanks!

RESOLVED my Low Volume Issue -  My turntable has a Line Out Switch -  Once flipped on -  Clear Sound and Volume using the Port.  Running Turntable into PORT and using the App for Volume.  No need to even plug in Receiver anymore.

I got a turntable for christmas, and the first thing i did was set it up to check that everything worked, and it did. I connected it directly to my Sonos Play 5, and it automatically played to the Play 1 i also have. I the disconnected it and placed the turntable where i wanted it, and then moved my Play 5 about 1 meter due to the cable being short. I connected everything, but when i now play from my turntable the Play One keeps falling out like there is a bad connection between the Play 5 and 1. It works just fine if i play from Spotify, so i cant really understand why this is happening since it worked previously. Right now i just have to mute the play 1 speaker as it is impossible to listen to. I also have a Sonos Beam, and the same thing happens there. I have a fairly small living room, and didn’t move the Play 5 far at all, all devices are within 3-4 meters of each other. Any tips to fixing this would be greatly appreciated.  

Hello,   I just got a Sonos Port and connected it successfully to my existing HK 3490 receiver.  The last thing i’d like to set up is to power on the receiver automatically when the Port starts transmitting audio.  The receiver does not have any 12v trigger input but it does have a Remote IR input.  I was hoping (probably against any logic) that connecting the 12v trigger output on the Port to the Remote IR input on the HK would do the trick.  No luck.  Does anyone have any suggestions on workarounds or gizmos that would do the trick.  The only articles i’ve found online are describing the reverse scenario, i.e. triggering a 12v input from an IR signal. I have a: Yamaha RX-A1000 receiver Technics SL-1200MK3D turntable  Sonos Port Sonos One Sonos beam no wired speakers I can’t figure out how to get the turntable to play to my Sonos speakers.Do I need additional cables other than what came with the Port?Is the “digital out” and “12V” required? 

Can I use the connect to play my turntable (which has a preamp already) with my play 1 (2) and sub?

Does any user have experience of the sBooster BOTW Power & Precision Eco MK II linear power supply upgrade reviewed by The Hans Beekhuyzen Channel on YouTube recently. Apparently a selection of low voltage connector adapter tips are included with the sBooster, I would like to know if one of these does fit the Port. Any information concerning the correct size pin (spec.) of the low voltage connector tip to fit the Port would also appreciated.
