New App: Why Sonos, Why!

I am very disappointed by the new App. For years I have created playlists on my PC and loaded digital albums. Now I can’t access them, or if I find one I can only select and play one track at a time and not the whole playlist or album. I refuse to be forced down the streaming from a paid for platform route!We really need the option to rollback this update, it is ill conceived, created without the end user in mind and does a complete disservice to the Sonos brand.Please do not update the desktop app to replicate this terrible changes. At least for now I can walk across the room to select and play my music from my PC, even if I can’t do it from my IOS device anymore!

Music Library Problem with new iOS App

I’m finding the new app very buggy regarding music library access. The new app (unlike the old) wont play most content from the music library shared from my PC, but it can find the library and display the content (albums). I then press play, and it just spins or says “something went wrong”. Also, certain content works - most doesn’t. And weirdly, via the new Sonos WEB app I can play all content from my music library (and then control it via the new iOS app). So the browser on my iPad can get to the content and play it, where my iOS iPad app can’t play that same music library content. But once it is playing via the web app, I can control it in the iOS app.But this is a clunky workaround to say the least.Anyone have a fix?

Is Sonos killing local libraries with these new software updates?

Just updated the iOS app and I don’t see any way to search or access my local library on my computer. I know this was the case when Sonos updated the search feature in the S2 app, but now it seems like there’s no “classic search” option. What’s the deal?

New App: Is it really an official Sonos app?

I am trying to install the new app. It won’t install correctly and requires several reboots of my iOS devices to open. Even then it has completely screwed up my home audio system. It constantly gives incorrect “cannot connect” messages. It won’t recognize my Sonos products. It won’t recognize my third-party music apps. The search function is defective. When I finally got some music to play, it defaults to blasting music from my back patio speakers only. When I change to indoor speakers only, it plays different songs out of different speakers. Then some of the speakers disconnect. Then all of the speakers disconnect, and, at the same time, it reverts to blasting music out of the backyard speaker. Are we sure that this is an official Sonos app? It feels like some sort of joke or maybe malware?

After upgrade to new version Sonos app hangs on Retune

I have a system with 2 ERA 100 a minisub and beam Everything was OK and I use Trueplay. After updating (now the system is on IOS 17.4.1 is S2 built 80.00.04. In trueplay when I try retune the system hangs (after rotating when there is the message You will hear some tones… It hangs and only reseting (power off) the phone I can escape from this scree. Is this a normal behaviour? Any solution? Thanks

My list of issues with new Sonos App on IOS

I have updated the Sonos IOS app on just ONE of my IOS devices (thankfully).My overall impression of the new Sonos IOS app is that it is missing quite a bit of functionality that was available in the old app. I therefore suspect there will be quite a backlash from existing users until Sonos address some of these issues.For what it is worth, here is my initial list of issues/questions…1 - There are issues with the Rova service on the new app. When you click on Rova via the “Your Services” rail nothing shows.My other IOS devices that are still using the old Sonos app correctly show the list of Rova Station selections as expected.2 - Related to the above point, when searching for a radio station. e.g. “The Sound” the Rova stations do not show in the results and the Rova service icon in the search rail shows with a “!” icon next to the service name. Doing the same search using the old app correctly returns the Rova stations in the search results.3 - The “Sonos Favorites” rail list on

BT Smart Hub 2 arrived today | Duplicate IP addresses show in Hub Manager->My Devices

Due to BT switching over to Digital Voice we received the latest Smart Hub 2 from them today. I setup the router and conned my iPad, my partners iPad and our phones to it, all good. Next up I decided to add my Sonos speakers to it. In the living room I have a Beam, Sub and two Sonos One SL speakers, and upstairs I have a Sonos One.I’ve not experienced any issues as yet, but I’m seeing some worrying info in the Hub Manager->My Devices, namely duplicate IP addresses, but in the Sonos App on my phone I’m not seeing any duplicate IPs at all?This is a screen grab from the BT Smart Hub, Hub Manager: This is a screen shot from the Sonos App->Settings->System->About My System on my iPhone. As you can see there are no dupes and the IP address for the Beam is totally different to that shown I’m the Smart Hub 2, Hub Manager settings. New Sonos App and Accessibility

At Sonos, we take accessibility seriously and aim to build listening experiences that everyone can enjoy. The redesigned Sonos app was built from the ground up to support both modern and future Sonos experiences, and as part of that, we’ll be implementing ongoing improvements and enhancements over time. On May 7, the app will have basic support for screen readers, allowing you to swipe through and read through all items on the screen. Following launch, ongoing improvements to the accessibility of the updated mobile app will remain a top priority. A software release available May 21 will improve screen readers so you can select items on screen in any order. Further improvement will be added to the experience regularly until we reach parity with the S2 app by late June. In the meantime, the Sonos Windows and Mac applications will continue to operate as normal until our new web app has met our accessibility standards. New app a blatant move to force customers into ongoing revenue stream model?

With the removal of so many functions to play local music and to use other music services, the new app feels like Sonos wanting to convert its Sonos system to only being speakers that stream Sonos Radio, where they can get ongoing ad revenue, rather than being an actual sound system. Sad! If that is the case then shouldn't they just give away the hardware instead of charging a premium. I may as well go with some decent blue tooth speaker system since I can no longer use the system to play my own music. No reason that they could not keep original functionality as well as adding new functionality unless they are just trying to force users into an ongoing revenue model. I don't think Sonos understands its customer base at all.

Hi, I read around a month ago that inverting the era 300 was not fully supported in the software yet, was looking for some info on this topic, is it fully supported yet? If not when is it likely? and also can anyone explain what not fully supported actually means.
