At the end of my tether with Sonos… yet another problem presented by them today!

Went to use the windows app on my laptop and it asked me to set up, working perfectly alright yesterday and now it won’t connect to my Connect gen2.

The strange thing is that it’s working fine on my iPhone app… any ideas?

Hello @macspur, welcome back!

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing issues connecting to your Sonos System with the Sonos App on your Windows laptop.

I would suggest you to make sure that the network settings on your Windows are set to Private instead of Public.

Also have a look if there is a firewall involved, blocking the Sonos App from connecting.

You can also reach out to our Support Team, as they can guide you through getting the Desktop Sonos App to locate and connect to your Sonos system.

I hope this helps.

Have you tried rebooting the laptop?

If you can’t get it to work, try one of my Windows apps (see profile).

Thanks for the replies.  Tried rebooting laptop, uninstalling app and reinstalled, unplugged Connect gen2 and still not connecting.

Does anyone from Sonos themselves ever look at these pages?  If I can’t get this fixed it will be the end of the road for them.

Well done that person! set it to private and hey presto… funny it has been working fine all this time though.

FYI - My SONOS system all of a sudden no longer connects from my windows laptop and works just fine from Iphone and Ipad…. support blamed it on Norton.  Umm, Norton has been on my laptop for years as has this SONOS desktop app….  somebody changed something if its more than just my laptop having issues.
