Question

Synology NAS - 2 connect units - 1 works, 1 gives "access denied"

I have 2 connect units on the same LAN but widely separated. I’ll call them C1 and C2.  Recently migrated all music from a Netgear NAS to a Synology NAS.  The connect software is S1 as I have some old speakers that do not support S2.  I’ve configured the Synology NAS to use NLTMv1 and SMB1 as instructed by the Synology community. All playback to speakers in the range of C1 work perfectly.  However any attempt to payback to speakers in the range of C2 fail with an “access denied” message.  Both C1 and C2 point to the same music library on the Synology NAS and have the same usercode/password.  What’s going on?

Thank you.

Update… If I choose a speaker connected to C1 and then group it with a speaker connected to C2, they both play, so I guess this is a clutzy workaround.  Is this a know bug with S1?  Would be great to have it fixed.
