Speakers

I have a couple of Sonos One speakers and find them to be a remarkable audio value. I have been wanting to supplement them with a subwoofer, but Sonos' price for the sub is outrageous. Why can't Sonos cut the margin on the existing sub or design a new sub for those of us who may not need a super glossy donut. Even a lower power sub would be sufficient for my needs.

Exist some list with of Generation of each Sonos 1, 3, 5 ???

Hi all, Is there a way of checking if a sonos product is stolen before purchasing? Buying a beam second hand(boxed never used) but would like to make sure it’s not stolen stock first. Cheers

Hard to say what exactly this is from the limited documents posted, but it has 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios, and BLE (bluetooth low energy). Hi there i have a sub and 2 x play 5s and wanted play 3s but found out they had been discontinued but im looking for a couple of decent sounding speakers for the kitchen and the bedroom as i like my music and wondered if there was any news on a replacement of the play 3 as yet I wish i had bought the 2 i saw at manchester airport 2 weeks ago now in the clearance sale dam it lol

Hi, I have a Play5 stereo set-up with sub (plus a Connect). I want to be able to use all my sources through this system. Spotify TV LP-Player Can I use the following: Loewe TV coaxial output to DA-converter, RCA to Connect (TV sound). From Connect wireless to Play 5s. LP-player directly to one of the Play 5s (analogue input). Is that possible? Thanks Claus

Our family likes to listen to SONOS in our home, but unfortunately if we sit outside in our gardens we have no way to listen to the beautiful music. I believe there would be a great market for a portable battery (and electrical) operated Play 1 or 3 wireless speaker. Recommendation: SONOS, please consider making a portable battery operated wireless speaker device.

I just bought a Beam and 2 Play 1 speakers. I have tinnitus and hearing loss. I bought the system so I could put speakers closer to where is it but I can't hear them over the Beam bar. Is there a way to turn up the Play speakers without turning up the Beam. I feel like I've wasted $700 as it's not any better than my tv speakers if I can't adjust speaker vu.es separately.

Hi there, I have a TV surround setup, with a Playbase, 2 x Play:3, and a Sub, purchased last year and all of which initially (first few weeks) worked perfectly. There now seems to be something wrong with the wifi connectivity in the Playbase. I tried setting up the system again twice from scratch, with the Playbase is no longer configurable over wifi - I had to resort to connecting it directly to my network via an ethernet cable. Is there a fix for this issue? I really don't want to run ethernet cables to the 2 x Play:3's and Sub as well Regards Mick

have play 1 and play 5 (also boost), only play 1 works with wifi. play 5 dont.... for having play 5 working I must connect the router or boost to it with ethernet. by doing this plays well... if I disconnect the cable stop working... maybe something wrong with the speaker?

Can we have a way to set-up Play1 for "small rooms" so that "spoken word" or "talk radio" can be heard over the shower water without having to crank the volume? I think it has something to do with speaker output power and equalization. I am unable to achieve that through the standard Sonos settings. It prevents me from using Sonos to listen to NPR during morning routines and at bedtime. My old Sony shower Radio (3 C batteries) still beats Sonos Play1 in terms of talk radio shower-ability! Background: I have a small bathroom that I have a Play1 in. I used to use a 15-yr old Sony shower radio (single speaker, 3 C batteries). It was perfect for listening to NPR. I could leave the shower door closed, water running, and bathroom door to bedroom closed and not only clearly hear the radio, but also not wake anyone sleeping in the bedroom. Now that I'm using Play1 in the bathroom, I have to turn the volume to near 100% to make sense of the "talk" on NPR or other spoken word media.

So yes, the lack of Bluetooth is a glaring issue that I think we all would like to see resolved at some point. Really limits things in a big way, but I kind of wonder if it's possible to do a work around some how. So, we can take our tablets, with the Sonos app, and run the Sonos One speakers using a number of associated apps, like Spotify, iHeart, Amazon, etc. Say you just want to watch a movie or something on your tablet, and output the sound to the speakers? If you can output the music stream via Wifi why can't Sonos or some enterprising young developer create a compatible app that will take any sound feed from your Sonos connected device and stream via Wifi the same way? Seems almost too logical and simple to me. Thoughts?

I can see people on the forum are writing about bass popping from Sonos ONE and I want to share my experience with this problem and want to hear what experiences other have with this issue. My story: I have 6 Sonos ONEs. 4 in 4 different rooms, and 2 as surround speakers in a 5.1 setup with a beam and sub. The problem is present on all 4 Sonos ONE speakers that are not connected to a sub. If I run a bass sweep using the "Bass Tests" by HzMP3 on Spotify, the problem is clear around the 35-55mhz transitions. I contacted the Sonos support and they were able to reproduce the issue and send a bug report to the US developers. Apparently this is an issue with the "sliding high pass filter", something the PLAY 1 also has according to Sonos support. Although confirming the issue, no apologies where given or compensation. I instead got the excuse that I couldn't expect that much from a small speaker. So the official answer I got was that I can't expect to play ordinary music from a Sono

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience? I sent a Playbar (£699) back for a refund over 3 weeks ago, this was part of the 100 day money back guarantee as it had been purchased 2 months earlier. The next working day i received an email to say it had been received and a refund would be issued within 7 working days. This did not happen. On the 8th working day i phoned to query and was told that the refund had been done (i now know this to be a lie) and the money would be with me by the end of the week and to phone and query again if i didnt get the refund. Come Friday, no refund. I phoned again on and i was told by someone that were looking into it and they would create a ticket for me. I have a PLAY:5 v2 speaker which I use in standard setup (ie using the home WiFI network) and I understand that if I connect it directly to the router a seperate mesh network will be created. My question is this. I control my music from an iPhone. Can I access the Sonos speaker while connected to my home WiFi network or do I have to be connected to this SonosNet mesh network?

On certain movie scenes and songs, there is a loud vibration sound from inside the beam. As you look at it, it’s just to the right of the middle. Is this a broken part to the speaker? It has never been moved since I first unwrapped it and put it out on the tv stand.

I've been thinking how I would make my Sonos One temporarily portable for use on patio for an hour or two. Has anyone tried a portable battery with an AC outlet like this http://a.co/fVsXngp ? Not sure how well it would work or how long it would last but might be an decent option in a pinch.

Bought the soundbar even though I thought it would not likely work well - have bought Sonos before and returned products. The sound from the other speakers (Sonos 1’s and a Sonos 3) CONSTANTLY drops out. Much preferable just to listen to the sound through the tv. Seems like complete waste. Am I wrong or are most people generally disappointed in Sound bar - and if not, how are you not?

I purchased the Sonos Beam launch week. It was my first Sonos product ever. I have always been a Bose/Polk/BW fan. I have enjoyed the Sonos Beam UNTIL TODAY. I purchased a new Wifi Router and learned the hard way that you cannot reconfigure the WiFi setting without physically wiring the Beam to the new router via Ethernet. This is 2018, this should NOT be an issue. In my case, my router is in my attic behind two very small doors. My beam was downstairs in my study. All this meant that I had to completely move my TV, disconnect the beam's power supply from behind it, carry my Beam upstairs and go through two small attic doors to hardwire it to my new router just to connect it to the new WiFi network. Why in the world can you not do this from the app, wirelessly, is simply beyond me. It was enough of a struggle that I will never buy another Sonos product. That one cannot reconfigure WiFi without having to hard wire is the most idiotic and nonsensical aspect of any produc

I have purchased this Lucky Voice set of mics http://shop.luckyvoice.com/products/lucky-voice-party-box-karaoke-machine-white-mic But am trying to see if I can connect this to a Sonos 3 (or 5) as I cannot connect it to my tv. Has anyone tried this? Do I need to purchase a Connect (zone player 90) as this seems like an expensive way to use it! Thanks

I am wondering if I can send in my old play 5 gen1s to Sonos or an outside vendor center where they can upgrade the 2.4ghz WiFi to 5ghz WiFi for surround sound enablement or just rebuild/refoam the speakers after a set amount of time

Sonos has stopped working since the last update. I tried to reinstall the desktop controller but am told that my OS is too old - I am using Yosemite 10.10.5. I don't want to change my entire OS just for Sonos. Hugely frustrating. Can I get an older version of the controller anywhere to download?
