I received a Play 5 that appears to be "old". When was the first Play 5 manufactured? Can I tell from the serial number the date of manufacture? Thanks.
Hi i want to buy a Sonos speaker to my TK800. How can i connect them to avoid an imput lag ?
zp120 Mute button lite, cant get lite to turn off. Music being sent to sonos box using sonos app on phone, but no music coming out. https://content.abt.com/documents/20166/ZP120_Setup_Guide.pdf thanks.
I’m experiencing sound bar distortion in the bass, lower frequency spectrum, when watching TV at low to medium sound level. The soundbar is connected via optical. Any thoughts?
Hello, So I was moving and during shipping my Play 5 got a slight puncture on it's super thin grill and I was like well maybe support can help me out with this i am very OCD and this bothers me a lot... Here's the damage So I write them a message and they are like we will see what we can do for you and it turned out what they can do is charge me 389$ (Price of the refurbished model on Sonos store is 399) and replace the unit. I am like speechless is this the level of support we can expect? I guess don't ever damage your front grill friends or you will be faced with a choice to surrender your speaker and get 30$ discount. Thanks Sonos Support Team.
I have two play 1 speakers and just got a third delivered. I specifically went for this model because I have absolutely ZERO desire to have voice assistants listening throughout my house but when I opened up the latest box I was shocked to see that it is now equipped with google assistant. Can you confirm that there are no microphones in this speaker?
I was told at Best Buy it would work with a optical cable with my Connect. So far, just frustration. The Sonos website lists my exact model that should work using an optical cable. Appreciate any help. Thank you.
I'd like to consider a sonos One for a wireless speaker in my studio apartment. I can't exactly find an answer that you can use it as an external speaker for a macbook. Basically I want to be able to play things that I'm either watching from either a web browser like chrome, a file, or film editing software
My problem with Sonos One gen 2 is connection (Airplay) between my Macbook Pro and the Sonos drops if inactivity occurs. For ex, play video on YouTube, or iTune. Pause it for a while 15s, 20s or longer. Depend on how long I pause, when resume, audio only resumes after 30s, 60s or more, or never. Have to switch back and forth to let connection established again. If there is no inactivity, I may be to play it a whole day; rain or shine, no problem. I had chance to have phone support, as suggested regarding to support ref. number 00810969. But, they could not solve the problem. I dig the google a little more. Found this on google.https:// https://en.community.sonos.com/troubleshooting-228999/speakers-cutting-out-after-airplay-2-update-6809429 Looks familiar? I might be wrong, but it seems that Sonos' never addressed the issue completely. Honestly, I like how Sonos sounds, so returning it is my last resort. Is there anyone out there got the issue like me?
Play 5 volume fades in and out???? Any one else had this problem or can recommend a fix ? It’s 4 years old and up until 2/3 weeks ago it’s been rock solid. Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi I'm a user of several Sonos speakers from Sri Lanka. recently I have purchased a Sonos One (2nd gen) from amazon via a delivery agent (myus.com). My speaker has arrived and held at customs pending clearance. since it's a wifi enabled device I am required to furnish the following technical details to the Telecommunication and regulatory commission of Sri Lanka for them to issue me a approval letter. Frequency Tx Output (in dBm) Antenna Gain since the available technical specs from the website does not include the required details, I wrote to Sonos support team to obtain those details. They tell me that they are not available and Sonos would not tell me as it's sensitive information. Could someone here will be give me the answers to the above 3 parameters re: Sonos One (2nd gen) ...? Thanking in Advance Buddhika Senasekera

Seems many of us Sonos folks would love to have the ability to add wireless weather resistant speakers to our systems. Outdoor living areas are extremely popular and music makes these areas even better. Outdoor WiFi extenders are available which would allow a wireless connection to a Sonos system. The Sonance system requires wires and is too expensive. Come on Sonos this is a no brainer as we live in a wireless world.
One of my Sonos 3 speakers was lost from my system and I can't reconnect it. My daughter was running it from the app on her iPhone, but I use the Sonos controller. The speaker is no longer listed in my rooms. Tried everything. I sent in a diagnostic, conf # 101785643 that you can check. Any suggestions? Rick
We found ants in our living room near the Sonos. When we looked closer they were coming out of the mesh front, sides and bottom. It's past the warranty so took it apart and found this. Not fun. Sprayed without spraying important parts and cleaned thoroughly. Still works. Now in the freezer for an overnight. Why does this happen so often? Ugh. We had our sitting on the floor - not a good idea.
My question is: Can a Play:5 be fixed? My synopsis is below. I am very disappointed with the quality of Sonos products that was registered in 2016 when I opened. I spent a little more that $500 for a Play:5 (I own a Play:3, a Surround Set and a Connect) and it just stopped working. We tried all the possibel options to get it to work with and without Sonos tech support, but was told it was a "dead" speaker. I was told that nothing can be done, but Sonos would give me a 30% for a new one. But, Sonos wanted the old one. I thought this was strange since it was broken, so I asked why and was told that was part of the deal for the 30% off a "new" speaker. But the speaker is dead! So, I felt like something was not right and asked if the speaker I was going to buy was new. They said no, it was refurbished (should have mentioned that at the start). Now the picture is coming into focus - we can't fix your speaker and send it back you, but we can sell you someone else's "dead" speaker ($349 +
Hi, I am looking to do an install of 2x sono's one (gen 2) speakers outdoors, and I noticed it had "some" weather protection. installation was going to be blue a eave, which is approx 100cm in length, so should be reasonably protected from direct weather "aka, rain". I guess instead of asking the usual "can you leave it outside", what is everyone actually doing? what successes and fails have you had. Rgds, Chris
I'm new to the Sonos world - having waited for Google Play integration (thanks!) - and am generally very impressed, as it's a joy to use such well designed products. However, I've been surprised that Groups functionality is so weak compared to what I'd expected... I have a large living room that has an LR Pair of Play:1s in it and a single Play:5. When playing music in that room, all three are *always* used together, but this has exposed design shortcomings of the current Groups functionality. I'd anticipated being able to configure all the speakers in my living room (ie. all those speakers that are *always* used simultaneously) to form a "permanent" grouping, not too dissimilar to how you can "permanently" create LR pairs. Currently, Groups are what I'd term "soft", and this leads to the following shortcomings: - THE PHYSICAL VOLUME BUTTONS HAVE BEEN RENDERED USELESS, SINCE THEY DO NOT CONTROL GROUP VOLUME. For example, despite my three speakers always being used together in a sing
One of our sonos play1s occasionally fades in and out of music when paired with the other sonos play1 and the sound bar. So when they are all playing together this happens. Please advise
Hi Sonos. I've had a pair of Play:5 gen. 2 for a month or so and it has been working flawlessly as stereo speakers in my living room. However, tonight all of a sudden the right side speaker didn't play - it did earlier this morning. Thus, I "dis-paired" the speakers and tried to set up the right side player again. Which failed. So I reset it to factory default. Then it seemed like it was working properly: The light flashed green. So I went on to set up the Play:5 Gen 2 as a new speaker: I went to settings, tapped add player, logged in, made sure the player was powered (still green light flashing), selected Play5 Gen 2 from the drop down menu, pressed the connect button, heard the sound, and then.. instead of turning white the player's light turned orange (at first flashing with some red flashing occasionally, and eventually SOLID ORANGE). Needless to say the set-up failed. So I looked it up on your website. Solid orange apparently means over heated? However my living room is jus
The title says it all. The music stops as soon as I close the Youtube app. This only happens while airplaying to the Sonos one. If I play the music trough the iPhone speakers, the music continues when I close the Youtube app. I pay for Youtube premium just for this feature and it does not work with Sonos.
Hey all. I’m a new Sonos owner, having just purchased a Sonos Beam. Other than complications with it not working with my Insignia TV HDMI ARC slot properly (which I resolved by using the HDMI to Optical adapter), I’m enjoying the sound of the Beam quite a bit. In setting it up though, I was completely shocked to find it wouldn’t connect to my 5GHZ network. I’ve streamed music using AirPlay for many years and when I jumped to 5GHz, stability improved dramatically, so I never used 2.4Ghz again (except for wireless printing). For example, the large multi-suite home I’m in now is packed next to other similar homes and thus the 2.4Ghz spectrum is over saturated making reliable streaming (let alone reliable Internet usage) on it pretty much useless. For this reason, I hardwired the Sonos Beam to my router instead of even trying to use it wirelessly. Can someone please explain the logic of this? I mean 2.4GHz does give you an extended range but if the stability is flaky, what good
Sonos now finally support Apple's multiroom technology, AirPlay 2, so Apple users can send any audio from their devices to Sonos speakers. Make symmetric step towards Android users and make Sonos speakers Chromecast available so we can send any sound from our devices to Sonos speakers. It's also make possible to cast to Sonos numerous music services without integration to app so it's very useful for users. Even cheap JBL and Sony speakers are compatible with Chromecast and Riva Wand speakers support both Airplay and Chromecast, Why Sonos users can't do this? Now I can't cast music from Deezer or Youtube Music apps to Sonos speakers and it's very sad. Please when you make Google Assistant available unlock Chromecast compatibility! Don't left your customers without Chromecast support! #ChromecastInSonos #FeatureRequest
In the Letter to Shareholders, it says Wireless speakers remains our largest category on an annual revenue basis and our product roadmap is focused on delivering new products in that category to balance and grow our overall portfolio. (Not in bold in the original) So, a new Play:3 seems possible, to "balance" the portfolio. But what is anyone guessing at to "grow" the portfolio?
Hi I have two ones and one of these feels strange when on even if it's not playing music. When you touch it there is a slight vibrating/static feeling which is hard to describe. The other device does not have this feeling at all. The strange feeling isn't accompanied by any strange noise just the feeling. Any ideas what could cause this?
