Hi, I have Sonos connect gen 2, less than 2 years old. It disappears from the app, white light in the front is flickering, Ethernet lights are on (all of them). I've tried everything to solve this problem with out luck. What I found on other community is the power supply is faulty.Any suggestions, experience ?
I have two Play:1, one Play:3, one Playbar, one Sub, a Sonos One (Gen 1), and one Connect which I purchased approximately 3 years ago. All of these appear to be on the Legacy Products list, but you currently do not have a modern product to take the place of my system products. Will I have to upgrade my entire system after May 2020 or the near future and does this mean that you will ONLY offer me 30% on new products which is a pittance of what I purchased my entire system for? On a different note, I was informed my products were manufactured in 2015 or earlier and only had a 5 years or so lifespan. Why didn’t Sonos recall the older products knowing back then that these systems would be outdated in the future? Because of course, retailers aren’t going to TELL a customer that a product has a shelf life because they are all about the profit and will sell the product no matter what.
My SONOS Move battery will not charge via USB-C port on the back. This is the first time I have tried to charge it away from home (and away from the charge base). Much to my disappointment, none of the USB-C chargers I (or any of my friends) travel with seem to deliver any charge to the battery (which is now dead). I have tried two chargers that both output 15V/3A, which meets SONOS spec. It could be a faulty port? Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.
I accidentally set my Move speaker up on my guest Wi-Fi, but my Sonos system is on my private home Wi-Fi. Now the app won’t find the Move and I can’t figure out how to change it to the correct Wi-Fi network. Ideas? Thank you.
I am in college with a few roommates. All on the same WiFi and they have figured out that they can connect to my speaker and crank the music all the way up. I need a way to password protect it so my speaker doesn’t blast Hannah Montana at 3am against my will.
Right, I have just got a new sonos move to add to my current which I set up and was running fine. One of my guests pressed some buttons on the back to use it on Bluetooth and then inadvertently removed it from my network. I have now reset this several times and can’t get it to join my current network with various other sonos products including a sonos connect (S1 software). When it goes through it doesn’t recognise the password which is 100% correct. I have now added it to my wifi extender which splits the channels and has a different name but for the life of me can’t add it back to my normal network. any suggestions. It’s driving me crazy
I posted this in another thread, and saw others mentioning the same thing, but it was marked as an "answered" question, so I'll post it here as well. Yesterday, my Move was sitting on its base (inside, temperature not hot) all day, power off. Went to use it last night and all that is happening is a constantly flashing orange battery light. No response when I long press the power button. Let it sit overnight on the charger, still nothing. The same thing happened a few weeks ago and I happened to stumble across something that worked online (it involved the wifi/BT button), but can't find that info now. I also was never able to find the device to complete the app setup but I never bothered to keep trying at the time. I will call on Monday, but am really annoyed that I can't use this expensive speaker all weekend.
Hi. I have an older Sonos 3 that was given to me by a friend a couple of years ago. It worked fine for a while, but stopped last week. I have tried re-setting it, but no joy. When I try to turn it on I get 3 low bloomp type sounds. Can any ony help me please? Regards Bob
Yesterday I received my Sonos Beam and went through the setup. I can get sound working out of the Beam but have not been able to sync my remote to control volume. TV model: SAMSUNG UA65JS9000Remote Model: RMCTPJ1AP2 / BN59-01220D I do not run any set top box or any other device out of the TV. It is purely just the TV connected to the Sonos. I don't care about Siri, Alexa or whatever other garbage assistant products that are everywhere now. All I want is to hear sounds from my tv out of a speaker I just dropped $600+ on and be able to control it with the tv remote.I've tried going into the tv settings and setting up the universal remote to add Sonos but all the instructions online assume that you also have other devices connected which I don't.I have searched through all forums that discuss connecting Samsung remotes that use the connect one brain/module etc and nothing works.I have also tried 3 other remotes for other Samsung TV's in the house that are just standard IR remotes and none
Hi, I have spoken with support on this issue in the past, but it still seems to be an issue. We fully charged our Move on 8/1 at 5:40 pm and took it off of the charging base. We did not turn it on again until today 8/5 at 9:00 a.m. and the battery life was at 17%. Is this supposed to be happening? Because it can be rather frustrating to have charged it all of the way, only to go to use it later and basically have it be dead even though we haven’t powered it up at all in the time between charging it and powering it up. So far, we have been incredibly disappointed with this product. And yes, we made sure it was powered off when we took it off the charging station.
First, let me say this, my wife and I love our Sonos setup and have been using it for more than 5 years. I have 3 Connects, 2 Amps, a stereo pair of Play 3's, a Sonos One, all on a Boost network. I have a number of solid state and tube amps that the Connects are hooked up to. We use Alexa and Google assistants as well, and stream Spotify music, all working great. One of the things I like best is that I can have my local music playing without a PC or my NAS powered on. My wife loves not having to mess with turning on a PC or NAS. I do this for my local music files by having them copied to a 256 gig USB drive on my modem/router USB port. The music file formats are MP3, FLAC, and ALAC. This setup has worked perfect for years now, with not only my Sonos gear playing from it, but also my other music playing software, as well as my smart Roku TV. I have had multiple different DSL modems supplied by my ISP over the years, and this setup has worked great on all of them. The Move speake
Dumb question but can I use my Sonos One alone, away from my soundbar base unit? Going to be staying away from home in a cottage with wifi.
Hi, I have a Sonos Five which I use for my vinyl player/AirPlay from my phone. It happens to sit next to my TV so I thought it’d be a good idea to also try to get the two connected in order to watch some movies. After doing some research, I’ve hit a brick wall and I’m baffled as to why I’m unable to connect it to my Samsung TV via bluetooth/wifi. It seems only way to do it is using optical to 3.5mm cable/converter combo but other than the obvious issue of the jack already being occupied, internet suggests also that there is a slight lag causing lip sync issues. Has anyone figured out how to connect it using bluetooth/wifi? Funnily enough I can AirPlay a movie from my phone to TV (Netflix) while connected to the Sonos and it works fine but obviously is a bit of a pain to set up each time. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. Thanks
We’ve had a Sonos One for 18 months and a Beam for about 6 months. In all honesty the Beam has been troublesome from the start but now neither speaker works unless one is directly connected to our router with an Ethernet cable. Our hub hasn’t changed and I have tried to re-set up the system but if you remove either from the Ethernet cable all of them disappears meaning we can’t play music through them. Interestingly I can still get Alexa on the 1 but it won’t find it on Airplay. Any ideas. I have tried using the support guide - but couldn’t get any answers there
Hey, I'm currently on vacation and forgot to disable the alarm. But there are two types of "power on" standby and off. Is the Alarm working when I turn the Sonos Move Box completely off? Thanks
So annoying Sonos, My Sonos 1 stopped working with recent app update. What do I do?? Anyone else face the same issue??
Have two Sonia systems at two locations but wanted to take my Move between each location. It looks like I have to reset the move to get it to join the system at each location. SSID at each location is the same, not sure if that is the issue (but doubt it). Get a message saying that the Move is registered to a different system. Btw, both systems are in the same account.
I am considering purchasing a Sonos Move, but after reading extensively it has become apparent that Sonos Move uses plain ole Wifi and not SonosNet. I have an existing Sonos Nework with 5 other devices, including the Sonos Beam and 1 Sonos One. All of these are using SonosNet from a Boost plugged into a Ubiquiti PoE Switch. In addition to the Ubiquiti Switch, I also have 2 Ubiquiti AP's broadcasting my Wifi, I have read a few articles that involve having to change a few settings on the Unifi Controller, but not the AP’s themselves. My question - will the Sonos Move work happily on Ubiquiti AP’s, or are there settings there I need to tweak too?
Hi I just purchased a Sonos move and the touch controls are not working on it at all. I have enabled them in the app (and turned them off and back on), reset the device and added it again but they are completely unresponsive I have run a diagnostics in case someone here can help, the code is 1977921086 They’re impossible to find here at the moment (UK) I really don’t want to have to send it back Thanks
Dear Sonos, Just once again voicing my utter frustration with the fact that you are intentionally out dating older products. I've seen your Marketing spin on S1 app versus S2 app, but at the end of the day, you are forcing customers who have spent a ton of money your technology into a compromise situation. Use outdated S1 app (how long until you quite updating this??) or spend more money. I think this is a terrible business practice. Unlike cell phones or computers, people don't invest in larg sums of money in speakers and components with the idea that at one point in the near future they will be obsolete. I can tell you that if you continue down this path, Sonos as a company will slowly work itself towards being obsolete (out of business). Your competitors will eventually provide better solutions without risks of being out dated or requiring additional money spend. If you want to make me a happy customer, take my S1 compatible Connect:Amp and offer me a replacement swap with th
Hi there, will Sonos support WPA3? If there is support, which devices will get an WPA3 support/update? thanks a lot
I am thinking about selling my 6 speakers and bridge. What is your experience, can I expect to get decent money for it? Too many problems with speakers disconnecting, the loss of trust with “legacygate” plus the fact that Sonos doesn’t allow me to stream what I want has finally made me decide to get off the train.
Hello, Over the past years, I have managed all my music using iTunes, i.e. converting albums to the proper format and creating playlists. During all those years, I had to convert the playlists (the m3u files) from the Unicode UTF-8 encoding to ASCII/ANSI (this is the default Windows Encoding) coding since the Sonos players do not support UTF8. This is a multi-step process which is very prone to errors (don’t ask me why since this shouldn’t be necessary at all). ASCII is well and truly dead and buried. See this quote from https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100927014115AAiRExF: "Nowadays both ASCII and ANSI character sets are most effectively obsolete as we now have Unicode which currently provides 107,156 characters in a single character set and is expanding. See http://www.unicode.org/charts/ ." Other sites with similar wording can be found. My question is: when do you, Sonos, finally change the software of the players (I have two, the Conne
Hi i am trying to remove my old bridge and Connect from my system and install a new Move. But no matter what I do. The Bridge Removal Tool potion in the System Tools section does not seem to be available. Any suggestions as to how I can remove my old bridge and install the Move on my system? regards
I previously had a Move set up on a home WiFi network. As part of getting out of my home for COVID, I brought my Move with me to another house that did not have a full network. Upon trying to use the Move in Bluetooth mode, I’ve had no success despite a massive range of attempts to fix the issue. I’ve tried restarting. The top LED simply continues to flash white. I’ve tried restoring factory settings. The “orange” LED I’m supposed to see never shows. I’ve tried adding a new entire Sonos system in the new house. Wont recognize. There is nothing I can do in the app given I’m not connected to the Move nor an established Sonos WiFi system. Nothing has worked. Please please help.
