Hello, I’m looking for a speaker just to spread out the sound of the music played through Mac or Smartphone through the Blootooth technology. Is it possible by the One or Move speakers or do they required a sound bar to connect?I don’t have a Wi-Fi connection at home, I use the phone hotspot to connect my Mac and I don’t have any other Sonos product in this moment. So the idea is to buy a free-standing product in order to listen to the YT / iTunes / Amazon music played through my Mac with a beautiful sound. Thanks a lot!
We have tried the power cord on other sonos products and it works fine. I have also tried the power cable from one of my other known good sonos play units and there’s no change. We see no lights or other response indicative of power whatsoever. I believe there is something broken (fuse? diode?) in the power delivery system. Can we open a ticket?
I’ve just dropped my Sonos move and it’s dented the front any tips to remove the dent or pull it out
I’m about to purchase 2X Sonos One (Gen2) for the study. And I don’t know what to do with the Play:5 (Gen2) that has been in the Study so far. Should I take it to the Kitchen and pair it with the two Sonos One (Gen1) by placing it in the middle, all three facing Kitchen and Living room? Or is this setup bad for the stereo effect? I have a feeling having three speakers lined up might be counter productive. Or shall I take Play:5 into bed room? Thanks for advice,Houman
Move is a great product, but in a connected home, you typically do not have one point of access regarding Wi-fi. This is all good, because Move works fine when you move it from one place to another in and around your home. But: Having more than one access point, such as range or mesh extenders, messes up things when you would like to use the Move as an extra speaker in your Sonos setup. The Sonos app warns you that if you want to group your Move together with other speakers when playing, trouble could ensue. This is because Move do not support SonosNet. So this means that your “static” Sonos setup is “driving” in a different “lane”, apart from the Move. And this shows. I have had plenty of connection issues in that regard. Now, what I would really like is for having the option for Move to join your SonosNet, either when it can detect the signal properly, then switching to “regular” Wi-Fi if it detects a weak signal, and/or being able to have it play on SonosNet when, docked. Just to make
Hi all…..I have a bunch of Play 1’s… what do I need to make them compatible with the latest features? I’ve heard that a new version Sonos will link to them and all new features will work via the new speaker. Is that true?
I’ve moved house and have a new router. My iPad and iPhone can’t find my Sonos one via WiFi or when connected via Ethernet. I’ve tried everything on the Sonos website, rebooting etc and I’m completely out of ideas now. Can anyone help please
Helloonce the play 3 are soothed in stereo to use as suround, can I still listen to them individually if I wish? or do we have to unpair them each time? Thanks
Wondering if 2 5’s work horizontally for a stereo setup with sub?
I can’t believe Sonos play 5 gen 2 doesn’t have wireless connectivity with a tv. I have a Bose unit from 6 years ago that connects perfectly. Sonos mention you need a hardwired 3.5mm headphone cable to join. 10 years ago maybe!!! I have a wall mounted outdoor tv. Cannot connect wirelessly. And, I use YouTube music, which will not stream directly to the unit either. The app with sonos is very limited with YouTube music. I just want to listen to some music through a TV, and easily cast from a direct app (no third party Sonos app). Come on guys, it’s not 2000 anymore. 2 vey basic needs I cannot do.
Just moved in to our new house and my wife has set up the Sonos system in her name and email address. Now when I try to login it won’t let me use my own details, it says it must be hers, meaning it’s her Spotify etc rather than my own.Is there a way of solving this please?
I have old Play 1 speakers (2014 or older) and have purchased 2 new One SL speakers. Can I group them and be able to use airplay to play on all speakers?
I just bought a new Move to go with my Epson 2150 projector for outdoor cinema and sports. When trying to output the audio from the projector to my Move, the projector can see the move in available Bluetooth devices, but when I try to connect I keep getting the error "failed to connect to the Bluetooth device". My JBL Flip is able to connect to this projector. And my phone is able to connect to the Move.So both devices clearly work with bluetooth, but they just don't seem to be able to work together.Epson requires A2DP bluetooth spec (I believe a copyright protection element for video entertainment?), but I can't find anything in Sonos support that explicitly says that Sonos supports it.Help, my outdoor big screen football games need better (but portable) sound! Thanks!
Has anyone connected their Sonos system to a model railroad? I have a a bunch of MTH and Lionel train engines that have a many sound effects. Was thinking it would be awesome if there was a way to connect the trains to my Sonos system. The trains are connected to wifi and bluetooth so I’m sure there is a way. Just curious if anyone has tried this. These are $500 -$1000 dollar train engines each with excellent speakers in them but would be cool to get full surround sound with my subs etc. for whole model layout.
New Beam. Trying to set it up using my Apple tablet with S1 Controller. Controller finds the beam but will not connect during attempt at bluetooth connection. Tried also with my IPhone-worse result. I’m tired and I want to go to bed, Any help out there?
I discovered an open network being broadcast from my sonos - SONOS-AwgDBwAACrjpN4c4CAA=Is this a security risk? I havent seen it previously.THanks
Keen to purchase a Move. It will be used indoors and then outdoors in the summer. I have an existing Sonos system working off a Boost. Will Move be able to connect to the Boost and be apart of my system. I was a little worried about this phase: <<The Move can connect to your router’s Wi-Fi network but not the separate wireless network created by a wired Sonos product.»I use WIFI all the time. Grateful for a comment from someone who has done this recently. Many thx
Hello All, I am adding a TV to a room about 12x12 in size. It will be an occasional use room mostly for sports. I am trying to decide between going with the Beam + Play 5 or just the Arc. Keep in mind, I already have a Play 5 that is not being used. So just trying to put together good quality sound but don't want to overdue it.Any thoughts? Thanks!!
My sonos move isn't playing while charging. Also I can't seem to find the speaker from my sonos app on my phone. Help?
I’ve selected a couple of my S1 devices to check out the trade up programme. I’ve subsequently decided to not bother, sell the speakers on eBay and let someone else use the trade up. However, the devices seem be stuck in the upgraded part of the programme, even though I haven’t, and won’t, use any discount code. Does anyone know how to get them out of the programme, please?
Hi,I am considering to buy Sonos for my home cinema. I currently have a BeoSound 2 (1st gen) in another room and would like to use that in Sonos as an additional multi room speaker. Is this possible? Can the speaker be integrated into Sonos if I buy one of the Sonos home cinema solutions?thank you so much for helping me out on this so that I can decide whether to buy Sonos or not.brgds,Kasper
is sonos soundbar update required to continue to use the sonos sound system? It says I have to purchase the update.
We have a gen 1 ZonePlayer 5 (Play5). We have not used it for several years as a result of moving. I’m trying to set it up now, but it’s not connecting to the app (iphone or macbook). We do not have any other Sonos products. I have tried with the Play5 wired to the router (which is also the modem - VIsionNet Model M505+). I did a factory reset on the speaker, and the light just flashes green. My iphone and macbook are connected to the same wireless network. I’ve followed all the advice I can find online, but nothing works. Please help!
Sorry, this turned into an essay but I wanted to get everything covered. Some background -I have an issue in that I live in a large(ish) concrete block of apartments in the business centre of large city and our flat is over three floors. The block is put together like an Escher painting so most rooms are surrounded on 2 or 3 sides but somebody else's apartment. One floor is one on side of the block and the other two are on the opposite side. The top floor is the master bedroom suite and this is where we having most issues. Our current Sonos system is throughout the flat. We have 6 Play:1s (alls in a pairs), a pair of Ones (Gen 1), a port and an AMP (upgraded as part of the deal that Sonos offered from older generations. i’m currently running S2 and it’s automatically updating currently to 12.2.1 according to the app) As you can imagine the interference is a nightmare both from the neighbours but also from the surrounding public wifi services and it would fairly standard to see 12 oth
I just received and opened my Sonos Arc and noticed that there is a masking tape on the right side of the speaker that’s tucked in the speaker cover. I pulled the tape and some of it is still left in the between the speaker cover. Is this normal? Is there a way to open the side cover to remove the tape.
