My new Sonos Portable needs an overnight charge, is it normal that it should take so long? Also the charge dissipates quickly, no where near the advertised number of hours. Also it switches itself on when i use the app regardless of whether I plan to listen to it which probably does not help battery life. Do I have a faulty battery? Can it be programmed to only come on via its switch
Hi,My Roam stopped charging few weeks ago. I already tried a lot of charging cables and adapter (of course with more than the 1.5 A - my standard outlet has 5V and 2.4 A). The Charging sets did work at the beginning, but stopped working a weeks from nowWhen I plug in a cable, the LED is red. But even after days it is still red, and not able to start! When I use the Wireless Charging Stand, the LED is not shining at all. So it seams it is not charging at all. I try to start by clicking the button on the back for about 30 seconds or more. And nothing happens. No sound or anything. It really seams to be dead right now. (Even right after days of red charging LED) What can I do now? Any additional tips how I get it working again? Thanks
I have a pair of Fives, stereo paired, Trueplay tuned and in the horizontal position. I’m curious how the soundstage would sound if I were to change speaker orientation to Vertical. If I turn to vertical does that cancel my saved Trueplay setting so that when I turn them back to horizontal I would need to redo the trueplay? Or does it remain as it was?
the question is about an unsual multiroom system. Is it possible to use some Roam as multiroom speakers with the units permanently connected with electricity ?
Having owned Sonos speakers and a Playbar for years, I jumped into purchasing a Roam as a portable option. Sadly, I will be returning it - this product is nowhere near the point where “it just works”. My observations which may be of interest:As others have noted, unless it gets turned completely off it just keeps waking up and draining the battery (quickly). As a portable option it isn’t something I want to use every day but I also don’t see why it should need to be completely powered down each time. Charging with a low power typical phone adapter doesn’t work very well. Not necessarily a problem as I have other options, but sometimes it has worked and sometimes it hasn’t so it is clearly unreliable and doesn’t fill me with confidence. Because it needs to be powered off properly, after switching it on it sometimes takes more than 5 minutes to appear as a Room choice in the app - that is useless if I just want to quickly start using it. This is the main reason I am returning it - that w
Roam become veryhot when use under Bluetooth mode, normal?
Hey guys, I have the Sonos arc, 2 gen 3 subs, and a pair of one sl’s… my question is I have the one sl mounted on the wall with the power cable ran through the wall, I would like to upgrade to the Sonos 5s for more surround sound… are the power cables from the one sl interchangeable with the Sonos 5s??? This way it could be just a simple swap… thanks everyone
I’ve recently bought a Sonos Roam speaker, when I try to link it to my Sonos speakers, I keep being told I need to update the app, and when I try over and over again, I’m told it’s not working. I’ve traced this to the fact I still use a Sonos bridge for my original Sonos 5 speaker which I still use via the Sonos 1 app. My other speakers are used via the Sonos 2 app and this is the app I am trying to link the Sonos Roam to but it still comes back saying update the app and then says it can’t update because of the Bridge ( which I obviously don’t use on the Sonos 2 app). I feel like I’m going round in circles. Can anyone help me please as I have a brand new speaker now which I can’t use!
Need help have a sonos roam and a first generation sub. The S2 application picks up both speakers but I can't make them part of the same room. Be great to have the roam and sub working together any advice welcomed.
Hi there, first time poster. I tried to find this question on the forum but couldn't find an answer. I have a Sonos One in my bedroom, I'd like my audio to play in the bathroom too with the Sonos Move being the safest speaker to leave in the bathroom. Is this possible? Can I broadcast my audio to both my Sonos One in the bedroom and Sonos Move in the bathroom? Thank you in advance!
Being able to use the app to turn off your Roam completely would enable a more wireless home setup. I use this speaker as a bathroom device, would love to be able to leave it on/forget about it and then be able to hop in bed and shut it off from my phone and not wake up to a dead Roam in the morning.
ROAM HAS STOPPED CHARGING ALTHOUGH IT DID CHARGe AT FIRST.NOW THeRE IS N LIGHT AT ALL
Sonos no Bluetooth workaroundWould it be possible to use a Sonos speaker through airplay when the wifi provider my phone is connected to is not suitable to connect a Sonos to (the wifi in many universities requires a username and password to login, and even then can be problematic in terms of tethering devices together on the network) I’ve read online that airplay can work as a sort of hotspot for connection so I’m wondering wether it would work in a scenario where I was unable to connect my Sonos to the network? Barring this if any users have had any experience using Sonos in university or that sort of username and password type of network any help would be appreciated
In the last year and a half I have bought the Sonos one (Alexa enabled) + 5 Sonos SL's and 2 weeks ago I bought the Sonos Sub Gen 3. I have it all grouped together as "everywhere". It really is awesome in my 2500 sq. Ft. Ranch style house. I have a question, it seems as though one of the speakers (the Sonos One) is not matching the volume of the rest of the group. What I mean is I use the Sonos App on my Note 20 and play exclusively music through Alexa and have the Sub linked to the Sonos One. I'm not sure why the Sliding gauge on all the speakers seem to be in "sync" w/ the exception of the Sonos One's output. Anyone have a "fix" Thanks in advance! & luv my Sonos'.
Got my Roam today and was using it for the best part of 2 hours. All of a sudden the music stopped and I noticed the following error in the app:“Playback stopped in Sonos Roam. Your Spotify account is in use somewhere else”I have a family account so there’s no possibility that others in my family were using my account. In the end I had to select the “sign out of all devices” option in Spotify and fingers cross it seems to have worked.First time I’ve seen this problem in the many years I’ve used Sonos and wasn’t sure if it was coincidental with the new Roam device or if it was genuine problem.
So last night I charged my Roam to 100%. I then unplugged it from the charger and it went into sleep mode. Then I went to sleep. When I woke up, with ZERO use of both the Roam and my Sonos system, the Roam battery was down to 91%. So this means it dropped almost 10% in roughly 8 hours. Which would be, generously, -- roughly 25% over a 24 hour period. Which means it would last only about 4 days in sleep mode.Sonos says it should last 10 days in sleep mode. Do I have a bad battery? What are others seeing in this regard?
Hi,Recently bought Sonos SUB Gen 3, paired with Playbase. Seems Sub boots slow compare to Playbase.Sonos Sub shows white solid led glowing and iOS app shows Playbase + ?. This happens for few seconds then it detects. Anybody facing this issues? Any solution? Is this issue or Sonos Sub booting takes more time?
I recently got a Sonos Roam and integrated into my system (which up until I purchased the Roam was an S1 system). It should be noted that the Roam -- at least for purposes of this post -- is constantly plugged in. And for the most part, the Roam has been working okay, but I have continually had to deal with one glitch:I group the Roam and some other speaker in my house. I play music and the music plays on all speakers. I pause the music or stop music for some period of time (more than a few minutes). I play music in the group again and the app appears to show all speakers playing music, but no sound is coming out of the Roam. This has happened repeatedly. It is a fairly easy fix: I can ungroup the Roam and then re-group it and it will start to play again. But obviously, that isn’t how the system is supposed to work. Is anyone else having this issue or have any idea how to fix it?
Hi,Is it possible to connect roam to a bluetooth projector. I have a setup with a Xbox Series S, a bluetooth projector with BT 5.0 and a roam. I have tried connecting the roam to the projector which connects but there is no sound. Any suggestions?
I'm really struggling to use roam as a Bluetooth speaker. Spotify isn't a problem, but I can't get other media such as bbc sounds app or prime video to play through the speaker. I'm using a huawei Android phone, so airplay isn't an option. Any thoughts or solutions much appreciated! Cheers!
After studying the various posts on here regarding the blown power supply problem with the Play 3 device, I am now at the point where I need some assistance with voltages.I think I have the board operational again, but the voltages I am seeing on the capacitors on the low voltage (output) side don’t look right. For someone who has one of these units and is technically competent, could you please measure what’s on the pins of the power supply board output connector (left to right with the board upright) and post here. This will assist me in getting the supply running correctly and determining what else is wrong with it.In repairing it I had to Dremel away quite a bit of burned area and I may have removed a connection to the regulation side of the supply. If I can get it working properly again then I may be able to assist others who have ended up with a dead power board.
Is Sonos planning to offer any type of battery replacement for the Roam? Maybe a significant discount on a new one with trade-in?
I wish to move my Move around the property; i have 3 routers, including the one I set up the Move on. If I don’t take my cell phone with me and leave it next to the original router, will I be able to avoid the problem of losing Sonos and Alexa?
I have both the Apple Music app and Sonos App on my iPhone. I have enabled lossless streaming for Apple Music so will I hear lossless music on my Sonos 1 speakers when; I play directly from the Apple Music app via Airplay When I play from the Sonos app. Thanks in advance.
Hi,I have an issue with bluetooth on my Sonos Roam. The connection is unstable. Even a short outage or slowdown of internet on your mobile phone terminate the bluetooth connection with Roam and switch it to wifi mode. Suprisingly it hapens also when I played music offline (downloaded to the phone). I have Move as well and tested both under the same conditions and haven't experienced such issues with Move. Looks like hardware button to switch between wifi and bluetooth at Move is worth.Does anyone has the same experience and can advise please? Thanks, Tomas
