Hi there. New to Sonos here. I am trying out a Play1 for the first time and enjoy it for the most part. But I am having an issue with the volume randomly turning up to a very loud state. There is no one else using the app to control the volume (which was my first thought). Does any one have any ideas on this?
I have a continuous flashing red play/pause button on my play3, it remains blinking red even after factory reset. What could be the problem? Playback works fine...
I have Sonos Play 5 that is wired and Play 1 that uses Wifi. Spotify is skipping songs. Sometimes every song skips, and sometimes one, two songs play fine until next song skips after 30s - 2 minutes. I have tried to change wifi channels but the problem still continues on 1, 6 and 11. I have a 50 mbit internet connection and Airport extreme AC router. I have sent a diagnostics report with number 3956286.
If I buy a wireless bluetooth vinyl player can i stream that straight to my sonos set up?
Hello! I have 3 rooms grouped together. In one of the rooms (Play:1, The toilet), I loose power to my Sonos every time I turn off the lights. I was hoping it would start playing again once lights were turned on but I can`t find anything about "autoplay" or similar in options. Obviously I have to group this room up again with the others every time the lights has been turned off and its kinda...irritating-- ...espescially on beer-nights where this light goes on and of quite often... If this isnt gonna work out as I planned Im afraid I bought one Sonos too many, since I never play music "in-here-only". I just wanted the feeling that my whole house was full of music all the time(: Any tips is much appreciated, thank you
I have 2 play 5 units paired , and they have worked without a problem since purchase . This morning they, and the paired sub all dropped off the network, When I physically examined the units, one of the play 5 units had no led light on. I have tried different power sockets, and a different power lead, but the unit does not flash the led when switched on, and is not recognised on the network. I used the pair in the morning, put them on mute, and then this afternoon this problem happened. Is their any way to reset or do I need a replacement ?
I would like to be able to play high pitched sounds through my outside speakers to silence the dogs around my. Is there any songs or whatever I can load into a play list or is there any way to play an app through them?
So I have 2 connect amps, running 2 "zones" of built in speakers in my house. I want to play the tv on one of the zones. I go to Best Buy, guy tells me to buy a sonos "connect"connect it to the direct tv box(which is the small genie box) connect it using the single orange coax cable. So hook it all up, everything's connected. But I can not figure out how to make it play now that it is all connected. On my app it shows different "rooms" and the connect is listed as a room. Please help!!!!
Hi! I recently purchased a home that has two connect amps with in ceiling speakers throughout the house. I successfully connected one to the great room and the other to the movie room, but I have speakers in my master bathroom that I cannot figure out how to connect to an amp. The previous owner said that they had them connected to the connect amp that runs the movie room. I have searched this website and I cannot figure out how to add a room so that I can get the music to play in the master bathroom. Help!! I'm very frustrated.
I know this is such a common question but I couldn't find the answer... We have a whole system connected to our home WiFi but we needed an speaker to take somewhere else where there's no internet connection. We knew that Play 5 is the only speaker type that has a connection to use offline. However, we tried connecting a normal audio cable both with my IPhone and a laptop and the speaker wouldn't detect it... Can somebody help please 🙂
I was playing around inside my speakers and found Trueplay info and the difference metric. What does this mean? My speakers reading are Play 5 - 7.7 Play 1 kitchen - 10.9 Play one bedroom - 6.5 I'm too curious what can I learn from this info? Is 0 no change? What does it go up to? How can I see what EQ has been applied? And no I am not changing anything in the browser login so don't worry ? And while I'm on Trueplay topic: Is any IOS device better than the other as far as measurements go? Is an iPad mic worse/better than the IPhone? As far as the waving goes, do you also point at the ceiling and floor too or just the walls from top to bottom? Do you only face the room boundaries or do you cross the middle of the room too? What % of the time should be spent in the main listening area? Should we sit down in the listening area? What gives the best results? There really needs to be a more comprehensive instruction manual for Trueplay. The 30 sec demo in
I have an Apple-TV and projector that I would like to connect to a SONOS surround system if possible. I am not sure if this is possible and if so, how to build the surround system. Neither the Apple-TV, nor the projector has an optical line-out for sound. Are there any possibility to build a surround system with Apple-TV and a projector or do I have to use a TV-set?
What sounds better ?
How would I go about connecting my sonos play 1 and roku 1? I'm not using a smart tv but since both devices are using wifi I was wondering how I would be able to use the sonos to play sound
the controller app on my mac stopped being able to access Spotify, the iphone app still works fine though and I can play spotify-music just fine on my SONOS system. When it's playing, the mac app shows the right song playing and can control the speakers but I can't bring up "info" on the track or do a search. so: iphone app works perfectly, spotify is working fine, the sonos speakers are fine, the mac app connects to the speakers fine -- but not to the spotify service. My comcast/xfinity connection has been pretty flaky lately but this behavior happens even when everything is stable. I've tried restarting my network devices, tried my other wi-fi network, i've reinstalled the osx sonos app, removed and reinstalled the spotify service too. help? diagnostics : 7234032
Hi, I have a Sonos Sub 2.0 but it got a couple of scratches because I vacuumed it. Is it possible to remove these scratches? If so, what could I use? I attached a picture of the top of the sub.
I have connected to Sonos 1 speakers to my bridge which is downstairs. I want to move one of the speakers upstairs, but it cannot find the relocated speaker when I plug it in in the new location (upstairs).
Can anyone please tell me if I you can see/change the 5GHz channel the Playbar uses to communicate with rear Play:3s in the Sonos Desktop/iOS controller? I've already got an Apple Airport 5GHz network setup, which most of my devices use & want to ensure that it's possible to ensure they're on distinct channels and avoid interference.
We are building a wireless system with Sonos and started with the Play:5. I have a collection of vinyl and CD music that I want to be able to play via my turntable and CD player. I have a slightly older Technics SA DX940 receiver. I understand I can run my CD player and turntable into my receiver, as before, and run the receiver to the analog in of a CONNECT. But what audio out of the receiver should I use? Or do I need an intermediary item - a switch box or similar? Or an adaptor of some sort? Photo of inputs/outputs of the receiver is attached.
Hi to you all. To day I finally go to compare the denon heos 7 hs2 stereo pair with a play 5 gen 2 stereo pair. This is my experience and those are my ears ymmv. Heos has better sound dispersion over all but this super bass that is mentioned in most reviews is mostly apparent below 50% volume. Play 5 is punchier and more articulate albeit a little more mid scooped. All in all excellent speakers but Sonos takes the win for my ears. And the support and this community is just the icing on the cake. But there is a caveat, I'm currently using canton DM55 sound base as a living room stereo and only via Bluetooth. Honestly it actually sounds better to me than the Sonos and the heos. And another thing, I also demoed the Naim mu-so. For the money, a pair of play 5 plus sub still doesn't go where the naim goes in filling a room with sound. What I was originally after was a pair of speakers plus a sub, heos, Sonos or bluesound were the prime targets. But in all hone
Funny story. We were having guests over for dinner and I was real excited to show off my new stereo system which consists of two play 5's. Then a nasty idea crept into my mind. Sonos will surely fail tonight since it has performed flawlessly from day one, because I'm gonna be showing it off. I start cooking and my wife puts on some music using her iPhone as a controller. No problem there. After dinner I'm showing my friend the system and grab my iPhone to change the music. Tada!!! Can't find any speakers. Hmmm ok don't panic, I think to my self, just kill the app and restart it on your phone. But still no speakers. I send a diagnostic report and as I'm doing that I think, fudge it I'll just restart the phone before I do anything else. I restart the phone and bam all is good again. Maby this may be of help to someone who finds him or her self in similar situations. Everything was ok but my phone just needed a restart. Remember that the device used to co
I have a Sonos 5 that worked perfectly until this morning. It was dropped from my system and wouldn't reconnect. When I unplug it and plug it back in, the white light comes on very briefly and then goes dark. Help!
Sonos system had been working OK up till about a week ago and now cuts frequently when using radio.. Has something changed to cause this as its extremely frustrating!!
I notice delays when I stream music on all the speakers i have or when I am just watching tv. The delays are quick and goes away but I prefer to not have any delays. I have the boost playbar subwoofer two play 3 for the surround sound and 3 bedroom speakers
In my living room, I have a ZP90 connected to an older Sony A/V receiver (STR-DE597) that I bought on Craigslist. Earlier this year I added a pair of Polk TSi400 with a Polk subwoofer that I use for Sonos and my television. As I've been learning more about digital audio, I keep seeing references to dedicated DAC units as something that will really boost sound quality. My question is: with the components that I already have, would a DAC like the Peachtree DAC-iT make a difference? My concern is that since my other components are not very high-end, the better sound quality of the DAC would not really come through. Since this unit is about $500, would that be better spent on some other component, like a new A/V receiver? And a related question: how would the DAC be wired? Does the output from the Sonos go to the DAC and then the output from the DAC go to the receiver?
