Does the Sonos 2 app allow for high resolution playback now, or does it just enable it for future use? my system is updated but a search will not show any Tidal Masters tracks.
Hi I updates app and sonos system (ARC and gen3 sub) to 12.2.2 today. After I went to check for updates via the app and it said app needs an update despite it all being up to date.I clicked on update and it opened the app store sonos S2 app, but no update is available as its already updated.Seems like a small bug, so just to make you aware.
We are researching installing a Epson 2250 projector and adding Sonos Beam as the sound bar and then adding Sonos SL units for surround. We also need the ability to connect a Nintendo Switch.Epson 2250 only has 1 HDMI 2.0 port so we are looking for options to split the single port to be able to connect the Sonos Beam for audio and also use the Nintendo Switch. Is there a special HDMI switch that will allow for constant audio to the Beam but also allow for other HDMI inputs to be used? Thanks for any assistance.Forrest
My Sonos connect was working fine, then just stopped (lost connection on SONOS) ethernet lights were solid green/ amber. Disconnected and switched off and on, white light flashed but system couldn’t recognise its existence. Switched off / on again but this time no white light. This is now how it appears. Has it finally packed up?
Two questions:The microphone can be activated ONLY by pressing the microphone button on the speaker. True or false? Pressing the microphone button will not activate the mic if the Touch Controls setting in the Sonos app is toggled OFF. True or false?rdp
Obviously there have been a lot of conversations with these various hardware pieces working together. I am just trying to get un update now that there has been a firmware update on the LG CX and the Arc has been updated as well within the month. Can anyone put together a complete setup; settings; use guide for these items to ensure that it works optimally. Also, an order of operations on how to plug/unplug and set all of this up.Hopefully my Arc set will be here soon (returning my Denon AVR receiver & new Sub) and would just like to hit the ground running. Previously, my ATV 4k was plugged in to the AVR and would go crazy and switch back and forth between TV sound & Multi so that I would have to reset it-making it completely useless and no one had any answers (LG, Apple nor Denon). I went against my better judgement with this setup and am hoping the Arc setup will make things easier.Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I am wondering if something like this could be offi
How do you add your partner or another user to your sonos app. My wife would like to listen to her audible account. Help appreciated
One of our Nexus 9 tablets recently went into “eternal reboot” and we have had to do a factory reset/Android “recover from cloud” operation. Which was fine, except it doesn’t restore what was there, bur reinstalls the Apps from scratch. So, suddenly, we have SONOS S1 app appearing instead of the v10.3 of the app that was there originally. It is correct, as we only have the old S1 kit (9 older units), all at the same upgrade state as the V10.3 software.BUT:We also have six Nexus7 V2s as Sonos controllers distributed round the house. These had a final upgrade (August 2016) on Android 6.01, and could only run up to Sonos V10.3 (build 51166240). Yes, Sonos V10.3 eternally nags about “update available” and “upgrading our device” – which is not possible. So we have stayed at V10.3 as everything is still fine and we don’t want to buy 6 new tablets just for “upgrading” to Sonos S1, as the old ones work fine for all our other uses.Of course, running S1 on the recovered tablet just brings up a loa
Hi all,I have recently purchased a Sonos Connect Amp to power bathroom ceiling speakers. As I only need one speaker in the bathroom, I have decided to run the second channel to another single speaker in an adjoining bathroom. I understand I won’t be able to play music to each bathroom separately but I’m wondering how I wire these speakers so that each single speaker plays both L and R channels (Dual mono is what I think it’s called but only available on newest Sonos Amp, not the connect)Ideally I’d still want to be able to pan audio entirely to just the one speaker if I had to. I just need the amp to output both L and R channels through the single output.Any help would be appreciatedCheers
Hi ForumHere is a new problem… I like to have music in the house all day. I start the music from my MacBook Pro M1, it streams from Apple Music or Spotify to Sonos One and Beam. On the same computer I do Teams meetings at work, I use a Jabra Evolve 75 Bluetooth headset for this meetings. Every time I turn the headset off, the music in the house is paused. After the meetings, I turn off the headset, I need to go into Spotify or Apple Music and press play again to let the music flow in all the rooms again. If I start the music from my iPhone 12 Pro Max and AirPlay to the devices the music is not affected when I turn off the headset, but the headset is not paired with the phone, just the Mac. Anyone else that has the same problem ?
Hey I have a Denon AVR-S750h Receiver. I wanted to know if I could connect the Sonos In Ceiling speakers to the receiver directly without having to purchase the amp or the sonos connect?
We have an surround system setup already, (Arc, 2 One’s and a sub), but I’m thinking of adding more speakers around the house. My question is, if we are watching tv or a movie, will the surround sound still be active in the living room but turned off elsewhere? And, will all the speakers work together automatically if we start listening to music?
So I just got a sonos port because I wanted to be able to add my sonos play 1 speakers to my analog speakers to listen to use my turntable. The setup I have is a TX-8160 onkyo receiver and a technics turntable. When I stream music via the sonos app (i.e. the port is the source of the music) the sonos play and analog speakers are in sync. When I play the receiver (e.g. radio, turntable, etc.) the sonos play is out of sync with my analog speakers. After some trouble-shooting I am able to deduce that the sound processing in the onkyo is creating the delay. Now I am wondering:Do all receivers cause the same problem? Is it impossible to go from a receiver to the port and synchronize the signal? Can the signal only come from the sonos app (i.e. the port) to have synchronicity between the sonos speaker and analogs? Are there reasonably priced receivers that do not have this problem? I talked to sonos tech support and they said that the receiver is the issue but they couldn’t tell me if this
As the Sonos Play 5 has Bluetooth and the Project s2 Juke Box Turntable has bluetooth. Can i play my vinyl via bluetooth connection or will it have to go through pre amp (2rca to 3.3 mm etc)Thank you
Hello allIs there a way to have repeat all on all the time. Whenever I play an album I’m just used to it starting again but I seem to have to push repeat every time. Apple Music has repeat all on until you disable it just wondered if Sonos could do the same?thank you
I have a Playbar and wish to add a Sub and some One’s for surround sound.I have been told by a sales guy that the new Gen 3 sub won’t work with the Playbar, so I will need to try and find a Gen 2 Sub (difficult) or purchase an Arc.I would be grateful if someone could confirm this is the case.
Did a search for a Sonos + Linux but all threads were archived. I want to add a +1 for Linux support. I’m probably an idiot and missed something. I main Linux, and while my Sonos device shows up in Spotify in Linux it never connects, regardless of network (2.4 or 5).. I tried various 3rd party addons and could probably make it work, but why make it such a hassle for Linux users. In Windows the Sonos deivce works perfectly in Spotify as expected. Love your product, the physical quality and the sound quality, but it’s annoying having to reboot into Windows to listen to music (especially when shitfaced). I would love to extend my Sonos speakers system. but the hassle just makes me ponder Bluetooth speakers instead. By now, isn’t there enough Linux users to warrant Sonos integration? Again, maybe I missed something.
I have +10 Sonos speakers that were purchased at different times. I have no idea which are first generation speakers that will not work with the new S2 app. I would like to upgrade the old speakers but do not know which one was purchased when or really anything about them. Is there somewhere within the app or online tools to identify the old speakers?
So I just managed to get a Vizio OLED at a really, really, really good price. I've been using my Playbar for three, three and a half years now with no issue. I have the TV set to optical, surround sound settings turned on, the bar's programmed to the remote, optical cable is fully plugged in on both ends, and yet I have zero sound out of the Playbar. Am I stupid and missing something, or what? Edit: I turned off dialogue enhancer in the TV menu and now I have sound. Go figure.
I have a house with an excellent wifi system, 8 AMP units hooked to ceiling speakers, and everything plays fine and is reliable.I am trying to add 2 SL-One speakers. They won’t join, I go through the procedures but they never show up in the list of rooms after I am done.I take them to the wifi rack, hard wire them in and they join and work. Unplug them from the Ethernet wire, and they still play in the system. Unplug them from power, take them upstairs, and plug them back in and they are gone.
My ARC’s Alexa mic seems extraordinarily weak compared to my Sonos Move. It makes sense, considering the Move’s microphone array. But it presents a problem when giving commands to my ARC, as my Move will pick up the commands 20 feet away (while my ARC is 8 feet in front of me).The truth is, I live in a townhome. And while my kitchen and living room are separate rooms, they’re not far apart. The discrepancy between the sensitivity of the two devices’ microphones is what is causing this issue. Can anyone offer any insight into this problem? Or a solution?
My Sonos system has a bridge that controls a Sonos:1, Sonos: 3, Sonos Soundbar, and a Sonos Sub. Can I add a few One SL speakers to my system without any issues?
Hi. I’ve got a group of two rooms. I want the alarm to go off in both rooms. move clicked the ‘include grouped rooms’ button but the alarm never goes off in the second room. Any ideas what might be wrong?thanks 😃
I have Sonos Connect S2. Everything worked fine with my old Android 8 tablet. I have just bought a new (unbranded) Android 10.0 tablet and when I try to download Sonos from Play store I get "Your device isn't compatible with this version". Any thoughts on how to fix this?
I upgraded to S2 to try a Sub I got as a gift. The sub doesn’t work with different speakers within the house - or couple with a Connect to go with non-Sonos speakers. You need to choose one only. So I returned it. Now I can’t switch my system back to S1. A customer rep told me I needed to reset all the speakers, but couldn’t tell me how, or what to do with in-wall speakers. They want to force me to upgrade my S1 speakers! Sonos, you have lost a lot of customers with this debacle, and now one more. After 30 minutes or more just waiting to speak with customer service, and no answers, no call back after being disconnected (as the person tried to look up how to reset wall speakers). Is there no way to stay with S1? (I was fine with it) Oh, and no handle on the new Play 5? How dumb is that? Will never ever recommend Sonos to a friend or anyone. Will actively seek out how to discourage anyone from using Sonos. Hope you lose your lawsuits!
