I purchased a Sonos Arc sub and 2x sonos one rear speakers.   Almost nothing works in China so its completely false advertised.  No tidal support and voice doesnt work and of course anything the is realted to google servers.  Recently I moved to Thailand and packed all of it over here hoping to finally use my product as advertised but it seems the hardware is locked.  I cannot add Tidal and still nothing work for voice operation.  Seems this is come kind of chinese version that works on nothing but lousy chinese streaming services.  What really upsets me is right on taobao it advertises that you can use it with Tidal and voice operation and thats clearly not the case.  Is there any way I can update this system to work outside of China as advertised??

Have you changed your account location at www.sonos.com to reflect your new address? Sometimes, and my understanding is that it isn’t anlways immediately shown on your Sonos, but the change should be within reflected within 24 hours. I certainly used my US based address system in Thailand many years ago without issue.

You could also call Sonos Support directly to discuss it. They would likely be able to give you better support than those of us in this community.

Thanks for your reply.  The support screen on the website is blank under contact us so I am not certain how to contact support.

Also I just check my address and its always been registered to an american address.  I think the hardware that is shipped (much like chinese phones) is hard locked to only use chinese apps so the thing I am really looking for is the software patch for my hardware so it unlocks to use western apps.

You seem to be unsure whether your products are actually Sonos or some knockoff brand.  Seems the first thing you need to do is verify that they are actually Sonos.  The comment that only Chinese apps works makes me thing that it is not actually genuine Sonos products.

That said, if they are Sonos products, supported streaming services and features are going to region specific due to local laws and licensing.

Thanks Danny, I am 100 % certain its sonos because it verifies the product is geniune when you set it up via the sonos app.  Its very common for companies to make a special version for china to comply with their protectionism, censorship and spying needs.
