What tagging/configuration is required to get Compilation Albums to display the artist in the tracklist?

Controller version iPhone current as of Aug-17-2023

Already tried numerous adding/removing/alternate tags:

Currently using previous suggestions:

ALBUMARTIST=Various

Compilation=1 or yes

removed Album Artist

with and removed Disc

with and removed Track

Plenty of 9 year old articles and KBs that simply do not work.

Also, is this issue a per device (mine is iPhone), per file format (FLAC and MP3), per library server (plain old SMB NAS) issue ?

Huge fan of my Play 5’s but the S1 and S2 software is (let’s face it) not great.

See the two settings and their options in the attached screenshot from the Sonos App Library settings…

Also see if this old thread may help you achieve what you’re looking for:

Edit: Note when you change any of the Sonos App settings mentioned, don’t forget to re-index your local library.

Any display changes arising from the above, post indexing, will be viewable on all your Sonos controllers, it’s not a per controller-device setting.
