Home Theater

I intended to buy the Sonos era 300 as front speakers, but I wondered if they were designed to be rear speakers to be paired with a soundbar, and I wanted to know if they can be used as front speakers without the soundbar or not

I have a new Sonos Arc (configured as a home theater system with 2x Era 100 and Sub Mini). Firmware up to date. TV connected to Sonos via HDMI ARC. After muting - whether via the TV remote or the app - after about 10 seconds Sonos turns the sound on anyway. The situation does not occur when the sound is played via the Sonos app or AirPlay. Turning off the “Auto Play” option did not change anything.

I set up an Arc with two Era 300s, thinking that would give me a solid surround sound. Instead, I get about 5% output from the two Eras and everything else from the Arc, with a movie either too quiet to hear dialogue or too loud to endure commotion/action. Any thoughts?

I have an ARC connected to a Sony 4k TV that has been connected for several years. The sound from the TV stopped playing through the ARC today. I can play music from the Sonos system, just not from the TV. I have read several posts concerning these issues from the last several years, and tried many remedies to no avail.I turned both off, then on and reconnected the HDMI through the app, but the app says the TV ARC input is now not recognized. I did this with nothing else connected to the TV. Sonos system is up to date. Before, I did this, I selected the external speaker on the TV (main setting is set to Auto to play anyway), but when I played the TV, the TV would immediately switch back to the TV speakers. Now after the above reset, I cannot even hear the audio through the Sonos ARC even if I select it. This seems like an internal ARC issue, since the TV can no longer recognize the ARC.Please help with this.  Ok. Not sure how to delete this post. I updated the TV software, and tried th

My TV/Playbar is mounted on a wall bracket which I turn when I want to watch TV/movies on my sofa.I've been running a TruePlay from the sofa as this is where I watch movies. As I understand it, TruePlay adjusts the volume of various speakers. After you have made a TruePlay, the speakers can adjust themselves over time to get the optimal sound. But if the TV/Playbar is constantly rotated, then the TruePlay optimization will not remain optimal over time, or will it?System: Playbar-Sub-2xPlay1.

Good morning,I've been using my new Sonos Ray for almost a week now, which I combined with my two Sonos Ones, and this evening when I get home, I turn on the TV and the Ray starts to crackle and sizzle. It's not continuous, really very sporadic but it's very disturbing! I restarted the TV, the Ray, I tried to switch only to wifi, I checked the settings and I put everything back to original, nothing works... even when everything is turned off an

Every time I turn on the TV I have to go to the app and tell it to turn on all speakers. It sure would be nice if I could default to a specific group or even just “everywhere”. Is there a way to do this?  Am I missing something?  Tired of searching for my phone just to turn on speakers. Thanks y’all!

Every time I turn on my TV, my Playbar resets to the same initial volume level (10%). It has always done this, but I don’t want it to. Instead, I want it to remain at whatever volume level it was at the last time it was used. This is the normal behavior of every other Sonos speaker I have, including my Arc.This has been an issue for years and I’ve never been able to find anything in settings to change the behavior.I also can’t find anything from Sonos clarifying whether or not this is the intended behavior. Is it? And if so… can I change it so that the volume level isn’t reset each time I turn on my TV?Thanks

Have created tv room with Arc, sub and one in stereo. I have 3 more rooms with speakers. When I turn TV on my muziek stops in tv room, like to see muziek stop in all rooms. How?

Have one ray and two era 100. Trying to set up surround sound but every time I try, it says that it’s unable to connect. Check WiFi and that the speakers are on. I’ve checked and tried several times but the same issue pops up everytime

I have multiple sonos products inc 2 surround sound setups.  Recently my playbar has stopped connecting to the wifi.  I’ve reset the playbar and router multiple times & still no resolution.  The playbar connects to network if I use an Ethernet cable but that’s in a different room to where the playbar lives.  Have researched extensively and can’t find a resolution.  Any help appreciated as all my other devices connect to the same network with no issue.

for some reason my sub keeps quitting

TV autoplay toggle in the new app has completely stopped working. This worked flawlessly until now. I have a Sonos Arc and LG C1 TV. Even when autoplay is off, the TV sound kicks in through the Arc and stops music whenever it detects a TV audio signal. I’ve tried a full hard reboot on Arc and TV several times without any luck. I’ve tried logging in and out of app. I’ve tried turning HDMI-CEC on and off. Any advice other advice would be much appreciated.

Soundbar no longer works with television since app upgrade

In the new Sonos app i can’t delete the surround speakers (One SL).I want to do this because I would replace the One SL for the ERA 300 to be the surround speakers. the message in the app is no network found and that’s wrong because I can play music over all the speakers.

since this rediculous change to the system I can’t listen to the audio on my sound bar while watching tv?this morning I waiting for 1hr & 8mins for a customer serivce person whose English was marginal - she was of NO Help - my total wastede time was 1hr 47 mins!!I’ve had my system for quite awhile & never had an issue like this - no what do I do?!

After days of the app telling me my speakers weren't on the network, they finally have shown back up. But now my Living Room, which is set up as a Home Theater system (Arc, 2 300's, and Sub) will play tv sound alway a through the Arc and sometimes through the 300's and Sub, but always shows the living room as music. Anyone know why this junk app now won't treat that room as a theater like it always has and insists it is looking for music? I'm sooooo sick of this. $3k of speakers in this house and 80% of the time they don't show up on the system since this app update and when they do show up, something major is messed up. Over 5 hours on the phone (half of that on hold) and they want to insist it's my router even though the setup worked mainly fine for years before this update.

Hi everyone.  I am stumped! We have successfully used TruePlay multiple times for all of the rooms in our house and recently I wanted to redo it for our home theatre (Arc, Era 300s and 2 subs).  When I tried on my iPhone 13 miini I received an error message that there was too much noise in the room.  I tried running it again with everything off and got the same message.  I then tried on an iPhone 14 and received the same message.  Both phones had their cases off, do not have lint in them, and tests were performed in a nearly silent room.  I also turned off Bluetooth. I am not sure what else to try.  Any suggestions? As I mentioned above, the phones are able to use TruePlay in every other room and also successfully performed TruePlay in our theatre in the past.

I have checked the community and I think this topic is not answered. With the sonos arc, sub and two era 100 setup, which are touching the couch and mounted on the wall, the direction of these should be against the TV or diagonally to the listener. Aditional info:Distance to sonos arc is 3,8m.Distance between era 100 is 3mDistance for each era 100 to listener 1,4m. thanks for your answers and sorry if its duplicated.

The most recent sonos update ruined the connection with my TV. It’s only good for music now and I don’t listen to music at home. How do I undo the update?

I’m looking at buying a Ray Soundbar but want to know if I can connect my 2 x play 1 speakers to create surround sound please?

In addition to Apple TV, my system consists of the Arc soundbar, subwoofer and Five in an adjoining room. The system has been stable since I purchased and configured a year ago. Recently (there may have been Apple and Sonos updates) the system does not output audio. Checked Apple TV settings and audio out is set to TV. I can direct audio temporarily to Air Pods but unable to stream sound to the Sonos system. I have a 1 GB ziply fiber connection and have rebooted wifi router, Apple TV etc. with no change. Desperate and it is impossible to connect with tech support at Sonos!

I can’t connect my Sonos ARC SL to my Samsung QN85. It’s attached to the HDMI ARC port. the TV sees a connection but shows as unknown device with turned off sign. I’ve reset the TV, Sonos, and used two different HDMI cables. The Sonos works by itself by wifi and the mobile app, however, no connection to TV. It was working for two years with the same TV.Any suggestions? if it needed service or parts, how and where can I get it? I live in Houston, Texas.thanks

Have the arc and a sub and 2 wireless speakers. It's been working just fine until my wife unplugged 1 wireless speaker and now only the bar is working and I cant get it back in sync. How do I restart to get all connected again?
