I purchased a home that has an HTD MCA-66 with CAT5 cables running to every room. I have 6 zones, each with the corresponding HTD wall volume control.The HTD has a 4 pin Phoenix connector AND a corresponding CAT5 connector for each zone.I’d like each speaker pair in each of the 6 zones to operate separately via a Sonos Port (one Port for each Zone).Question: Where am I hooking the RCA from each Sonos Port to? Audio in on the MCA-66? Or do I set it up as a sub zone within each zone? Can I remove and bypass the wall power and volume controls and only use Sonos for everything? Lastly - how can I make the speaker pair in my living room operate as RL and RR for surround with my Sonos Playbar? Do I need a Sonos Amp for that? Or would one of my Sonos Ports suffice?Thank you for your help!
Hello,I would appreciate some advice please. I am mounting my arc on the extendable Sanus mount within a recess in my media wall. I have read that the Sanus mount sags a little under the weight of the arc and so I was wondering how high an opening I need to allow the arc to move in and out freely. Why does my Beam keep getting lost? I am new to Sonos products and rapidly coming to the opinion I should have stayed away. I bought a beam to go with my projector and thought I might add more later. So far I find the sound quality really good but the software is far too complex. What is worse is my profile keeps loosing the beam. Tonight I am sat here with my phone linked via wi fi listening to music. With the music still playing the software tells me I have no device connected. I have no control over the beam. I follow the instructions which have me turning the speaker off at the power supply and reseting all the connections. Why does this keep happening?
Hello! I have had the Sonos ARC and sub for a couple of days now and I have some issues with it. When playing music from Youtube Music the sound stutters for a microsecond, like it’s skipping a beat. I have tried reseting the arc but that didn’t help. I have also updated to the most recent update and that has not helped. I’m running the arc and sub with ethernet cable so it’s not a wifi issue. Hi I have the Arc soundbar and sub mini in my living room which has high ceilings (about 16 feet). Can you please share any recommendations on things I need to do to get the ost optimal performance from Sonos set up? Also is it important to leave a 4” space between the TV and Arc soundbar?
Hi All,I have got a Sonos Amp which is connected to some ceiling speakers in kitchen which I use for music only (in kitchen/outdoor area). I recently bought a Sonos Arc which I have connected to my LG B7 TV fire the HMDI Arc port. I was just wondering if there would be any benefit to connecting my AMP to my TV and then my Arc to my AMP? or even if thats possible. When money permits I am hoping to get Sub and surrounds etc over time also. Main reason I ask is I seem to get Dolby 5.1 or 5.1 plus come through on Arc when I check sonos app, but never Dolby Atmos. possible its just what I am watching is not supporting atmos?ThanksGeoff
I was listening to music at about 10% of full volume when all of the sudden the music paused mid-song and then a few seconds later out of nowhere came this horrible screechy/scratch noise. The noise was at full volume even though I was listening just moments before and a low volume. It sounded like a demon had possessed my system. I have a a paired set of first gen sonos ones, a single sonos five, and a sonos arc. This happened while listening on the paired ones and sonos five grouped. Diagnostic info sent: 191715886
Hi everyone, hoping someone can help me out. I have an existing Beam set up to my tv in a room called “Living Room”. Recently picked up a used Connect (Gen1) and have it hooked up to an old Yamaha receiver (CR-620, if you are interested). The receiver in turn is connected to a Yamaha turntable (YP-511). I have set up the Connect to a room called “Record Player”. From the receiver I have analog cables running from tape rec out to the Connect analog in. When I plug the cables into the rec out, I hear crackling from the Beam so I know it’s picking something up, but I cannot get it to pick up sound when the input is switched to “Phono” on my receiver! I just cannot work out what (probably obvious) thing I’m doing wrong. Many thanks in advance for any advice you can give me! Graeme
I have a Philips 50PUS7505/12 and just purchased a Beam Gen 2 which is connected via HDMI ARC.I have set the TV settings to allow CEC and ARC on. I have set Philips TV to Multichannel (Bypass) and everything is working perfectly from my Fire TV 4K Max. however every so often, I think when I play Dolby atmos films on fire tv apps (Apple TV app, Netflix’s, Disney Plus) , I lose all sound through the beam. the only way to get sound back is to switch TV multichannel off and back on again. it works and the. Couple days off again.Is this a known issue?is this because I have ARC HDMI and not EARC?is this a Philips Issue, Fire TV Issue or Sonos. please help
My modest system is a Virgin 360 box HDMI into my JVC 50” tv with an ethernet-wired Beam Gen 2 (with ONE SL surrounds) connected via eARC.The issue I had was that the volume display kept popping up on the TV every 20 or 30 seconds.Really annoying.I noticed that this issue stopped if the sat box was not connected or if I connected the Beam via Optical so clearly the sat box was constantly handshaking with the Beam via CEC. I tried turning off the CEC control on the Virgin box (“helpfully” called One Button) but it made no difference.So, on the suggestion from another post on here, I bought a HDMI CEC remover adapter for £8 on Amazon, inserted it between the Virgin box and the TV, and the issue was resolved.This was after several support calls to Sonos and no progress. I understand that it wasn’t strictly speaking a Sonos issue so their support didn’t extend but it’s clearly a “fix” that will be of use to many of their customer base and ought to be a suggestion on their diagnostics scri
I've notice there is a lot of posts about sonos arc and LG cx, but i think mine is different.It's not that arc stops working, is more that some apps are able to wake it up and other aren't. In my case, some times the PC signal or lg native you tube app aren't able to wake it app. The solution at the moment is to pass through Amazon prime/Netflix apps and then switch to you tube or the PC.Is there a way to permanently disable the stand by in the arc ? Or to switch it on/off manually?
First time Sonos guy here (as soon as I receive the order...lol). Can’t wait!! I have a Beam Gen 2 on order, as well as a Sub G3, 2 x Era 100s, and a Move. But I need a longer HDMI/ARC cord than the one provided (4’ 9” I believe). An 8’ would be perfect. There are many Amazon options such as 8K HDMI ARC/eARC 2.1. Just wondering if anyone has experienced compatibility issues with a non-Sonos HDMI like this one...on the Beam Gen 2. Everything I’ve read points to a positive outlook. My TV is not 8K, but that does not seem to affect this cable option. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Hi, I have issues playing series on DisneyTV, AppleTV or Netflix via the AppleTV OS. I am using an LG smart tv (OLED65C8), combined with an Apple TV 4k (first generation) as well as a Sonos Beam for audio.When watching series or movies, every few minutes the sound cuts off for 1-2 seconds and sometimes the picture jumps a bit. Then everything is fine for a few mins before it starts again. I do not seem to have the issue when accessing Netflix content via the LG OS but would prefer to use AppleTV. Has anyone had similar issues in the past? Thank youSebastian
I have a gen 1 play 5 and a Beam. I haven’t changed anything on the network but the last few days the controller can’t connect to Sonos. Sometimes resetting the router works, but other times not, and nothing else in troubleshooting list is working. Am using S1 as I have old play 5, but tried S2 today and it could find the Beam but not connect. At a loss
My playbase doesnt want to Connect because the playbase doesnt make Any Sound in the process were the mobile phone trys to hear a Audio code. Someone ever had the Same issue? Thanks for any help! ps: i reset already few times untill Green light
Hi all.I’ve been having problems with my beam almost since I got it. 5-10 I’ve been forced to reset my tv and my beam to make it work. This time it didn’t work on hdmi-arc after reset, so had to plug in to optical adapter. And now tv remote can’t control volume any longer. Last time I talked to a supporter, I told him I would buy another brand, and he told me he would do the same. the buzzing I’ve decided I could live with. Next problem. Yesterday I connected my sons Nintendo switch to the tv. After about 5 minutes, the sound goes from beam to tv. After that, it’s impossible to make the beam work with hdmi. Beam has been reset, and so has the tv. Doesn’t work. I really love my Sonos when it works, but it’s just more and more things that make me want to leave this brand.any good ideas?
I'm having massive issues with both my Sonos systems (Amp and One SL).After some minutes Spotify just pauses and drops the connection to the system. I can instantly reconnect, issue comes back after a few minutes. Happens from both Android and macOS app.I didn't change anything in my network, the WiFi is working perfectly. I monitored my wifi and there is not a single package drop from other devices. There are very few WiFis around me, so there isn't much interference. I have exactly this setup since months, issues now started out of nothing.Does anybody have an idea what the cause could be?
Hi, I have an existing system with Arc and two Ones. Ordered a Sub that arrived today, but the Sonos app wont let me add the Sub :( In Settings there is a greyed out option ”Add Sub”, when clicked I get a popup message: ”App update required. Update the Sonos app to the latest version. Functionality may be limited until update is finished”.I have the latest version available in the App Store (14.19) already. Clicking the ”Update” button in the Sonos app leads to a ”Searching for updates” message that loads for about 30 seconds, then an error message with error code 1101. Any ideas? Anyone else having the same issue?
Hi,In my Bedroom I have two IKEA SYMFONISK Table lamps as stereo pair. One is wired to my network. The other connected via Wireless Sonos Net.I have an alarm setup, to play a Sonos playlist, which mainly has songs from my nas (itunes folder) and a few songs from Apple Music. The alarm is set to play on the bedroom speakers every weekday from 07:00 to 09:00, but also on grouped speakers (as Sonos does not allow me to add alarms to a speaker group, only to a speaker and the speakers that just happen to be grouped at that time, every morning 30 minutes before the alarm, my Home Assistant system groups the speakers in my bedroom, guestroom (Play:3 in stereo pair), bathroom (One SL), and kitchen (play:1 stereo pair). This grouping works flawlessly, so every morning before the alarm plays, the desired speakers are grouped with my bedroom speakers).But..Since recently (hard to pinpoint), sometimes the alarm does not play at all, anywhere. Hi,I’ve recently gotten a Beam (Gen 2). At first, touch controls were working just fine, but since a couple of days they’ve stopped working.I’ve checked the settings in the app, toggling touch controlls off/on doesn’t do anything.I read through the forum here, and some suggested a factory reset, which I did, but did not help either. I made a diagnostic, 43670915. Is there anyone that can help me with this issue? :D Kind regards
Hi, i recently bought a Sonos Beam and I’ve been experiencing issues where the speaker will disconnect from my phone and stop playing music. I’m considering returning my speaker however I want to find out if there are remedial options before doing so ?Thanks in advance.
