Don’t upgrade to the new app! The UI is not intuitive and functions that I used, like the sleep function are gone. It’s difficult to play from a streaming service. Couldn’t believe that things could get worse, but they have. The first few years of using Sonos were great, but the last couple of years have been plagued with problems. Don’t understand how they expect to sell products when the app is so flaky and you need to use it to play anything. They should have done more user testing before going live.
aargh! F*** O** Sonos , i just want to use my speakers quickly and easily , even simple actions are confusing and hard to figure out , really p*ss*d off - I just want to listen to music , I didn’t ask for your rubbish update , given an option to revert back to the old version.

The whole thing is a mess!! Those people in Sonos should be ashamed and work 24/7 to sort this out and get the app working as we the customers need it to be! I spent all afternoon trying to get it to play my music on my speakers and at one point nearly gave the speakers away to a charity shop!! Just so exasperated now by its uselessness Grrrrrrrrr !!
The worst "upgrade" ever. Has eliminated all the functionality I appreciated about the system. It is really slow. Even when it finally wakes up, it often can't find my speakers, even though third party apps like Spotify have no trouble, and it apparently doesn't like more than one speaker to play the same thing at the same time. Each window takes a long time to load, and it's missing the alarm and sleep timer! It is also missing the numerical marker over the volume bar on most screens, which makes it difficult to control volume in rooms that you are not currently in. It's so clunky that my family members think that it doesn't work at all anymore and have given up trying. So frustrating when I have enjoyed my Sonos system for years!

Is there a way to revert back to old app for iPhone? New app is borderline worthless
OMG, the new Sonos Android mobile app update 80.00.05 is horrifying and beyond unacceptable. The app auto updated and nothing works. My playlist disappeared and 90% of my favorites do not work and the interface is unusable. I reloaded the old app version and Sonos recently disabled it forcing me to update to the new version. Because the new mobile app is unusable we are forced to control our Sonos system with the Windows app. Guessing they will also screw this one up soon. I attempted to call technical support twice and waited for over an hour an half with no agents picking up.
I am amazed that a 1.7 billion dollar public company would inflict this kind incompetence and garbage on their users. I have been a dedicated Sonos user for for 15+ years and for the first time I am looking for Sonos alternatives on-line.
Beyond pathetic! Patrick Spence, are you trying to lose customers? Fix this now or allow users to use the old interface.
SONOS lease fix this? I hate that I cannot adjust the volume individually for all my speakers without moving through three screens.
Worst upgrade ever definitely don’t upgrade it has knackered my Move which won’t update or connect to my system I am deleting the app and going back to the old one which wasn’t awesome!!! Shame there app isn’t as good as there products!!!!!!
Thank God it’s not just me. I thought I was just getting old and missing something. Lol.
100% agree the new app upgrade really stinks.
My guess is that the sales and marketing departments at SONOS are bored and dictated this upgrade because “they know what’s best” when it comes to effective and engaging app interface. The SONOS UX and Interface designers probably all knew this was going to be crap show.
Since I first purchased SONOS I was a strong advocate and always recommended the system.
Ugh, not so much now.
FIX THE APP!! It’s not brain surgery.
Park your egos and chips on your shoulders and do it right.
OMG this app is dreadful. Have to restart is multiple times because it’s not connecting to my network. Then it suddenly does. Volume controls are intermittently responsive and slow to react if ever. Play history is not updating and even when it “works” if I let it sit for a few minutes it loses connectivity and I have to restart the app again. Did this go through ANY testing prior to release? Or did it just get pushed out because Bose recently updated their app and people freaked?

Where is Sonos responsibility to their customers? We need answers NOW!
New app is awful. Bad mistake to upgrade and then found and agree with all the comments here.
Can’t search my music library or queue music. App is Ffing useless and a massive backward step. Seems like they only cater for streaming services now. What a rip off.
I pretty much only use it for my TV now.
It is scarcely believable that anything could be worse than the previous app. So atrocious that it is scarcely believable.
Can’t use either Spotify or radio
Next refresh won’t be Sonos

Have you updated the app today?
This App upgrade is still useless, is there going to be another fix. Still keeps constantly disconnecting. What a shambles from Sonos
good lord, this “upgrade” is absolute CRAP. Is it possible to go back to old one?
What have they got against Pandora? App doesn’t show what is actually playing on my system.
This “upgrade” is absolute CRAP!
How do we send messages to actual decision makers in company? They need to know what a FU this is. Who owns Sonos?
I am extremely unhappy with the new app I probably have about five to $10,000 worth of Sonos equipment. The app with the gold icon was great. It was stable and solid and it actually worked now the new app with the black icon is absolutely terrible. It doesn’t connect I have to reboot in order for anything to happen. I can’t switch from room to room easily. I get an error message saying can’t connect right now. I’ll try again later. I just don’t understand. I have something this expensive is this terrible? I’m iso disappointed, please Sonos fix this app. I’m wondering if you are reading these community posts because if you were, he would fix it and you wouldn’t put out software that actually doesn’t work.
I emailed yesterday the CEO of Sonos, Patrick Spense. Sonos, as you may know, is owned by a group of equity funds.
I’m not sure if Mr Spence even sees this email account. And who knows at this point if he is even aware of the dissatisfaction with the new interface, or has any involvement is these type of decisions. I’ve not received any reply yet (which I requested).
It seems to me that this “upgrade” is all about selling Sonos product, especially their music stream.
Very little focus on the experience of long time users with physical system issues.
I wish I could go back to the previous app, though it was nothing to brag about, but at lease I’d figured out how to use it. Anyone know how to do that?

BTW, I called Sonos support a few days ago. The automated system told me a 5 hour wait, so of course i hung up.
Ok, Mr Spence certainly aware of dissatisfaction.. He just sent out a press release. He’s standing by his upgrade product. His alternate reality.
Can you link to this just sent out press release, please? I’ve not seen anything released since he talked to Verge, over a week ago.
yup, the Verge:
https://www.theverge.com/2024/5/22/24162168/sonos-ceo-patrick-spence-new-app-design-interview
That’s from May 22. I wouldn’t consider it ‘just sent out’. Today is June 20.
Yep, just to add another dissatisfied customer note…
I've now got an expensive Sonos system which won't allow me to search through my albums, and won't allow me to put more than one album in a queue.
This on top of the usual "Looks like your not connected to your Sonos system" nonsense which it puts up at every opportunity.
I just want to play music reliably through my speakers Sonos. Your new UI is very poor.

“Play Next” and “Add to End of Queue” were in 80.02.07 (Android), 80.02.04 (iOS) released on 6/4/2024.
