Have a TV in the kitchen with ceiling mounted speakers in breakfast booth across the the room. Would like to replace a cheap amp driving those speakers with an unused Connectamp. Simple installation but would like that unit to be part of a group playing music throughout the building when TV is off and auto switch to TV when it is on and vice versa. Expecting casual users, occasional users, or my wife to use a sonos controller to make those changes will never happen!!
Hello! I am the proud new owner of a Beam and Sub. I’m having trouble though hooking up my Beam to utilize HDMI-ARC on my TV (and the extra features) I have a: 1. TV with ARC, 2. Beam and 3. Bell Fibe receiver If I run HDMI from Beam to ARC on TV how would I hook up my Bell Fibe receiver? Seems like it’s a toss up between reduced picture quality or sound. Does anyone have an idea I’m missing? My current hookup is: Beam into optical on TV while Bell Fibe receiver is connected to HDMI-ARC on TV. On a side note, to control volume using Bell Fibe remote with Beam is brutal! Literally have to tap many times or hold button down or a solid 5-10 seconds. I’ve tried reprogramming but it does not improve. Thanks
I am a Sonos user for a few years, even it is not officially launched in Hong Kong at that moment, I bought my first SONOS from Amazon US. In the past, the support service was quite good, I can get a response within 1-2 working days and they are really helpful and my problem can be fixed within a short time. However, in a recent support case, I doubt that is the support service "exists" anymore. === In early March, Sonos announced that they support KKBox music service (a very large music service in Southeast Asia) but the support is still in beta. As a KKBox user for a few years, I added KKBox in Sonos but all my saved playlists were inaccessible in SONOS App but I can access all songs from KKBox Library, only I cannot find my own playlist. So I post my problem in the community, but no feedback from neither Sonos nor other users was received. So I decided to post my problem to Sonos support (Date: 8 Mar 2017) (In case staff from Sonos saw this post, the ref no of my case is 170
Is anyone else having an issue with renaming speakers after setting a name. I currently have a speaker in my bathroom which I have named it that but now have moved it to my ensuite as it gets more use in there. So I have renamed it from bathroom to ensuite but a couple of days later it reverts back to bathroom. I have changed it multiple times and for some reason it keeps reverting back!
My playlists usually run to 100+ tracks. I have them in a random order. I'd like to ask why does the Sonos system repeat the same track three or four times even though the track is only added once? This happens even when the shuffle feature is used.
questions to their customer service is always answered with some crappy standard email. Forcing updates on absolutely everything constantly. Why? I want to use an old Mac to serve as the music library, impossible to use as it’s can’t run the sonos desktop version 10.0. I don’t understand why no one is reacting to this. I have 9 rooms in my house, so I can’t say I don’t like the simplification and their product. I just wish there was another composting product out there...
I recently bought a Beam for my living room and a pair of ONES for my kitchen. I’d love to add a bit of bass to both setups but the current SUB at £699 seems both expensive and excessive for both applications. A ‘Mini SUB’ priced at around £399 would be perfect for me. I feel like the current offering has the size and power to be paired with something like the Playbar or a pair of Play:3 speakers. The Beam or a pair of ONES just doesn’t have the power to keep up with the current SUB so I can’t bring myself to buy one because I feel like it is too big and too much money for what’s my needs are. I can’t be the only one in this position. Please make me a little SUB. Thanks. PS: If the Play:5 has Alexa integration then I’d have bought that for my kitchen.
I’m just wondering if it would be possible with future software updates to use a Sonos amp to get a full Sonos Dolby atmos setup? It seems that you can already use the amp in a 5.1 setup to provide the rear speakers (using 3rd party in ceiling speakers) so why not use it to provide Dolby atmos to the in ceiling speakers (either 2 or 4) instead with a pair of play:1’s providing the rear channels. Apparently atmos can only be passed over hdmi and not optical but now that the beam connects to the tv with hdmi through the arc port doesn’t this make this idea more feasible.? im sure Sonos could produce a Dolby atmos specific in ceiling speaker so that the speakers audio qualities were known so that true play tuning could be used. The ideal setup would be beam (or updated playbar with hdmi/arc), sub, 2x play:1 as rear channels, and amp which would be a wired to the in ceiling speakers and configured to provide the the “atmos” in ceiling speakers and grouped with the rest of system.
Been reading about others frustrations with songs cutting off before end. Happening with iPhone close to Sonos and strong Internet. Was chatting with friends the other night and some similar experiences. Wanting to take this back amd get an old fashioned CD player?
To whom do you report spammers using Private Messages? Specifically "LauraRalph" who uses and email address of sergeantlaurarealph7@gmail.com? Google that address and there's lots of people reporting that across multiple websites (Norton Community, WebRoot,..).
Hi, I stopped using Sonos players some time ago and I do not intend to participate in this forum any longer. How to remove my account from your servers? I can’t find the option. Maybe I’m not looking in the right place. Thanks
Has anyone taken a Sonos from the US to Japan? Does a US model work in Japan?
The Sonos Community does not remember my username and password for very long. When I go to access it the next day I am signed out and have to login again. I wish that it would remember my credentials (despite me checking Remember Me). Is this an issue for anyone else? I experience it on Safari (Apple iOS 12.1) on both iPhone and iPad and also on the latest version of Google Chrome on macOS Mojave.
I bought a Beam a few weeks back to go with my new OLED and thought it wasn't quite punchy enough so I added the Sonos Sub to the mix and Trueplayed it yesterday. The result is excellent and am extremely happy with the products. I now get the product and what it is and isn't and why it's configured the way it is. The system is deceptively loud when cranked a bit and does exactly what it's supposed to do perfectly. Streaming music is a new concept to me .... im an old guy🆒 .... but now have my pc library linked to Sonos and about 20 tunein stations Fav. Wife is getting in on the act and setting up her stuff as well and i've been ripping my CD collection so we can turf our stereo and go 100% Sonos. Have over 200 vinyl albums we havn't played in 12 years and might use em as wallpaper actually. I can see a few Sonos Ones in our future and will recommend them to anyone. Thanks Sonos
Me: "I already have the Connect:Amp. I don't really need to upgrade." Also me: "Something new from Sonos? TAKE MY MONEY." ----- In all seriousness: If you have the coin to upgrade and plan on sticking with Sonos long term, I can recommend getting the newer AMP. My B&W CCM382 ceiling speakers never lived up to their potential with the older Connect:Amp. They sounded OK but unremarkable. Powered by the new AMP, they carry so much more punch to them. There's a richness that was simply was lacking in the previous setup. Pluses: modern design, expansion capabilities (up to 4 speakers instead of 2) Here's what I should have known but didn't: swapping out amp devices means reconnecting all the speakers and services that were tied to the old amp. That took longer than swapping out the hardware. If you have neither and you're deciding between Connect:Amp or Amp, spent the extra $100. All day long.
Before the community existed in this form, Sonos had a website where feature requests had a separate status, and could be voted for. Some features introduced back then were based on popular demand. Now, requests are scattered across the community and receive the same (non-)reply every time. I think it would be good to have a separate place on these boards for feature requests, just like the "Ask a question" board. Adding a "me too" button or using the original "like" button, votes could be cast for a feature request. It wouldn't necessarily change Sonos' policy on giving information on the status of development - the previous version of this system even had a "under consideration" and "rejected" status tag - but it would at least give some visibility to highly requested features.
I travel quite a bit, one thing I miss or wish I had when in the hotel is a good sound system to pay my music\podcasts. I think the better hotels would be open to a complete system. How I see that working •Registering with the hotel wifi using your room number. Marriott, Hilton and most others use this method to prevent people leaching free wifi. •Sonos would need to develop a new enterprise back end that would acknowledge that registration\checkout and know which speakers are in what room. The tie into the registration would also allow you to know which user devices are in what room. •Adding a function to the app would grant access only to those devices that in a room. •Device security is always a concern. So Provisions to cable secure the speakers. •Upon check out the registration of the device would be wiped.
My bass was a bit too deep for how late at night it was and the song I was listening to, and I wanted to just go quick change the volume on my bass in that room. I was told it'd been a while since I'd logged in and that I needed to log in again before I could go into settings. What user-friendly advantage does requiring me to log in before I can go and change local settings like volume do for me? I bought Sonos because I was very excited about having wireless sound throughout the house years ago. I've since been told that I not only need an account ( I don't remember when I registered for one, but I did ) and then that I need to log into that account again, randomly, to change some settings like bass volume in a room? Why? This is not user friendly. I didn't want an account in the first place, I don't know what sort of information, telemetry or otherwise, you want from me. I never have any intention of buying any Alexa-integrated products from you; and, I'm really not a fan of be
Before buying my Play 5 I was in conversation with a representative from 'Sonos Chat' One of my questions was "If I find one cheaper will you price match"? Categorically Yes was typed by the representative. Amazon are selling UK plugged Play5 for £449.00 Recently another representative from Sonos chat said they DO NOT price match and whoever said that should not have said it! I'm already over it but just wanted to post in case some of you think ....... Cheers
I have just spent close to £1000 on Sonos kit after reading that the set was a 'breeze'! I cannot add my itunes library despite trying for the last 4 hours - time i will never get back. I have checked all the firewall advice, rebooted all devices and router. Turned off devices close to router. I need this resolved or the system is useless and it looks like it is not just me who is affected - the speakers will be going back. Diagnostic response number is 1167535472.
It would be good to have a few home security features in the Sonos Android remote app. If we receive an alert from our home security system. It would be great to be able to: A) speak into our phone and pur voice to be heard through our Sonos speakers. 😎 play an alarm & C) play music at maximum volume Would this be possible please? What do others think?
I want to set up my Sonos network. My router is in a different room will not have music, does a Boost do what the Bridge use too?
So long SONOS! After years of being an overzealous supporter of SONOS and suggesting to friends, making excuses to my family, spending hours weekly on “some new issue” and still purchasing over 40 SONOS products for multiple locations... I just can’t do it anymore. Selling my units to some other poor fools who are excited by the prospect of wireless sound. It’s amazing about 20% of the time. Then another update comes... I can’t do this anymore.
I have a playbar, sub and 2 x play 1 speakers which is great for tv, streaming and cd’s. I have a separate analogue system for vinyl but would like to play it through my Sonos system. I have been given all sorts of advice on how to do it but it all conflicts, the end reult is I have bought a Connect on the advice that I can pay my vinyl on existing Kenwood turntable through existing Kenwood KA-3020SE amp and connecting the tape out to the Connect. This doesn’t work as it seems to me like the tape out isn’t amplified. My questions are :- in simple terms please! How do I play my analogue turntable through my Sonos sound system? Do I need to buy a pre-amp? Am I wasting my time with the Connect? Given that it’s possible, what connects to what and do I have to hard wire connect an output from the Connect to my Sonos speakers or will it connect wirelessly? No jargon please guys I’m not a young guy and I’ve only just moved on from a wind up gramophone :):):)
New to Sonos but understand that playing music off my iPhone 6S is a problem with my Sonos home entertainment system installed in our new house. Music stops and jumps to another song or stops all together. A real pain in the butt. Streaming Sirius, Pandora, Amazon...not an issue. I’ve read similar posts from a month ago. Any updates on this topic?
