So, I have two Play:3's in a room and one of them has lost it's high-end, clearly a failure of the tweeter. When I contacted SONOS support, they had me run through a few tests and came to the same conclusion, however, they offered to sell me a refurb at about $170. Not happy about it at all. I'd be willing to pay for a replacement for the tweeter, but buy a refurb? I own several SONOS devices... including the CONNECT:AMP, 2xPlay:3, and Play:5. Obviously time to look for alternative. Anyone else dealing with similar issues?
How did SONOS miss this basic function? I don't like my speaker setup on 5.1 surround sound because the rear speaker volume is too low relative to the playbar and subwoofer. I would like to turn up the volume on ONLY selected speaker(s) and cannot. Even my factory car radio has a FADE function. Why doesn't my $2,000 Sonos Surround sound offer such basic functionality?
Why, having selected Show More Activity in Recently Active and opened an older post, does a browser back selection take you back to the initial post listing and not back to where you were further down the older post lists? As a consequence, one has to repeat the Show More Activity (sometimes a number of times) to return to a browsing view of older posts.
I’ve just been looking at standby power use at our place. Very Rough calcs for us: 1xsoundbar + 2x ones = around 14 watts/hr. 8 hours sleep @ 14 watts x 365 days = nearly 41 Kw every year. Annual cost @ 30c/kw = approx $12/year of standby power while we sleep. And then there’s the greenhouse gas emissions. this sound absolutely nuts to me. Am I missing something? is there an option to automatically turn off at night say from 11-6? Surely a simple bit of coding for such a sophisticated piece of kit?
Replies no longer show the "title" of the poster, just the author. I miss seeing my "World Class Superstar" (!) title on my replies. Pretty sure this used to be shown.
In my personal capacity but drawing upon my knowledge as a data protection and privacy lawyer I have made a formal complaint to the UK Information Commissioner's Office on a number of grounds relating to SONOS's privacy policy and its processing of personal data. SONOS has both misapplied the GDPR and avoided provisions of it in enabling an unacceptable level of harvesting of personal data. In summary SONOS erred in law, in my opinion, in permitting its legitimate interests (some of which are fairly generic) to override the rights of data subjects which is wrong (the rights of data subjects come first as a general rule). SONOS has also intentionally embarked on a process of changing its ecosystem from stand alone use to one that forces the user to accept an intrusive and unnecessary level of linking of SONOS units to activities. It is impossible to not accept SONOS's updated privacy terms and terms of use because the update procedure forces you to do so. For example, you cann
So....just got notice that I will soon not be able to play music stored on my phone. BS. Looks like I need to subscribe to music services. Sonos made a deal with them to force subscriptions? Last Sonos I will buy!!!!
With Alexa it would just give me a bip but now with Google Assistant it say "Mic on/off" without taking in account my speaker's volume. Please give me an option to just disable completely the audible feedback, the light is more than enough for me and I'd prefer not to wake-up everyone when trying to get some privacy.
I have advanced multiple sclerosis and depend on a wheelchair to get around. When I bought several pieces of Sonos kit a few years ago, they freed me from having to put on records or cds and gave me freedom to listen to all my music in exquisite quality with a few taps on my phone without getting up. Casting is such a joy for people in my position. Sadly now Sonos have ruined that experience by turning its back on its existing user base. Now we have to register our products, agree to their version of privacy and wait patiently while they consign our existing kit to obsolesence. They even admit this: https://www.zdnet.com/google-amp/article/sonos-accept-new-privacy-policy-speakers-cease-to-function/ Thanks Sonos
I didn't think it was possible to make this customer forum worse but you did it. So much wasted space. Too much scrolling. Did I mention all the wasted space? Especially at the top. Also, I typed in to search for something and it doesn't let you sort by date. Just whatever it deems relevant. I got something from 9 years ago near the top. And it's no longer relevant today. Steve
Why is moderation so slooooooow? I tried to post something (I think) a couple of days ago and it's still not there.
Really wish the volume could be turned down lower especially for alarms and low background music
Just hopped on the sonos store and noticed the prices have skyrocketed! Hoping this is an error otherwise ill need to grab what i can from Amazon.
Spent the last 3 weeks buying a few different multi room/theatre system setups with a goal of finding the best, very reliable, stellar quality, multi room system with a minimum of 5.1 DD capability that is easy to use (wife approved), sounds great and gives me the feeling my $2k+ investment was worth it. Here we go.. Like any other savvy tech buyer, I did my research. I've previously had full 7.1 in-wall and floor stand/wall mount setups, dolby atmos... the whole nine yards.. no stranger to wide soundstages here, however. My wife who is not techy, struggled to use those systems well. Now we've moved to a new place and I'm re-thinking priorities for my family, ease of use, little required adjustment and sound quality were the top requirements. The wife likes the sound of bose and sonos so it was between these two manufacturers. Test Comparison Setups (Theatre Room, 15'D x 40'W) TV area is 12' deep to 12' long sitting area., 10' right of TV to wall, 30' left into kitc
The SONOS Website has a feature to reset your password. After doing so, yo get a "Success" page that says to Login to you sonos account. However, there are no links nor menu item that takes you to where you may login. You have to type into your brower's address bar to get to a place that has a login link. Please add a link.
It'd be awesome if the Sonos controller for Mac was updated to include controls via the new touch bars. I much prefer using the Sonos app, rather than Spotify - but Spotify has already delivered on this experience, and it's great. Please can we have it?
Five (5) seconds before the update was completed, my rich audio quality suddenly became the sound of a cheap speaker. Even running through the set up procedure, I couldn’t restore to my original great sound. No excuse that the SONOS software engineers would come out with a update that so dramatically changed the audio performance. Any suggestions for improving the beam overall frequency response and dynamic range?
I've noticed something interesting about the sound from my stereo pair, and I was curious if anyone else has experienced it. I have a pair of Play:5s, and I've been using TruePlay from the start. The sound is pretty great overall, but my only complaint is the bass. It's concentrated in one spot of the room (specifically, when you're sitting on the couch) and we get excellent lows...almost skull vibrating. But if you stand up and take a step to either side, the bass completely disappears. It's like standing in front of fire hose when you're on the couch...but if you move a few feet, the bass misses you completely. I'd rather hear consistent bass all over the room, even if it's less intense. Is this a TruePlay issue? Am I crazy?
Hi SONOS, When I change music source (from TV to music or radio) I always have to adjust the volume, which means that my ears often get blown away. My idea is for SONOS to automatically remember the last volume level for the different sources (TV, Spotify, Radio) and automatically adjusted to this level when the source is changed. I believe that it is rather easy to program/implement. Anything I missed? (I already have set alarms in the morning to always adjust the starting volume, but this is not what im looking for :-)). - Peace.
Hi folks, I am moving back to London and want to take my Sonos speakers. Are they fine on the 220-240v circuits the UK has opposed to the US standard of 110v?
When listening to music with friends, we will all take a turn at putting the next song on. Sonos is a great way to do this. The features of "Play Next", "Play Now" or "Add to Queue" is perfect EXCEPT that people too easily accidentally hit the "Play Now" button and then it ruins the flow by stopping the current song. Perhaps "DJ Mode" only allows for Play Next or Add to Queue to prevent the accidental cancellation of a playing song. Adding a collaborative feature where multiple people can add to the playlist but only in turn would be really neat. It would turn it into more than just background music and make it a game or the focus of a listening party. It would be forcing people to be more interactive with the music. I use to make this mandatory when hosting. lol Just an idea. What do you think?
I purchased the Sonos Speakers because of the ability to enjoy my music on the Sonos speakers. Well, that is not happening and I am not happy right now. This posting is for those who have Sonos.com speakers. I have recently attempted to download the Windows Controller for my desktop. It states that it can't find the existing version of the music. I have uninstalled the application and reloaded the application. I was reading in the Sonos Community that this has been happening for a while now. So my question to Sonos, if the controller isn't working correctly why do you still have the application on your website. Looking at your Board of Directors, you have a pretty smart team, so why hasn't someone come up with the fix. So if you are having the same problem with the Windows Controller, don't waste your time on the Sonos Community, take it right to the top. Send an email to Patrick Spence, CEO, Patrick.Spence@sonos.com Also, copy your letter to the investor relations Inve
iPhone message says one of my speakers may be unplugged and I receive no sound. Checked all speakers and the lights are white. Any suggestions?
Hi, I have just changed my WiFi network and re set my Sonos. I now have no access to any music whatsoever. The playlist option has disappeared and if I type in a song, artist etc, there is nothing! What have I done and how can I solve issue ?
One thing is to grey out the entire volume bar instead of putting an "x" next to the speaker you want to mute. It's just easier to see.
