Hi everyone, I have an older TV (manufactured in 2014 - not really old to me, but by tech standards, I suppose it is) and I'm trying to connect my Sonos Beam to it using an HDMI switch. Currently I have an HDMI cord running from the TV to the switch and the Beam connected to the switch via an optical cord (using the HDMI to optical adapter Sonos provides), but the Sonos app isn't recognizing anything via TV Setup through their app. Does anyone have advice for steps to take to try to make this all work together? I'm at a loss now. I appreciate any help or tips anyone might have. I thought I could handle this level of tech, but apparently I cannot. I just got a new phone, and for some reason the same day my Sonos system breaks (Unable to play through Spotify on my laptop). I have tried to connect to my system with my new phone without any luck. So Instead I have began resetting my speakers and trying to create a new system. Now, the application can find my speakers, but when I press ‘go to device settings’ after having pressed ‘install this product’ during the device setup. Nothing happends, the button press registers but then nothing further happends. I did not have these issues on my old Iphone 8 but I don’t have access to that one anymore. How would one resolve this? I have Sonos Play:1 speakers if that is helpful and I am using the Sonos S1 app.
Can’t find a topic on this that is less than a couple of years old but it’s happening here - not to me but to my wife’s account (family account via Apple One) so this has to be fixed double quick or I’ll be in trouble!!Diagnostic number: 1075133482 Please help! She’s not angry, she’s disappointed. We all know that’s so much worse!
Tidal issue. Sorry for typo. Admin please feel free to correct spelling of topic. When playing Tidal as my music source, it will only play one song (not continuous play of an artist/songs/album), then stop. Sonos doesn't do this with Amazon music (Amazon music continues its to play the entire library). I've removed and reinstalled the app, disconnected the Tidal service, then reconnected and still the same. Thoughts?
One of my surround sound speakers (one) is crackling. I have tried unpairing and re-pairing and moving the speaker to see in anything next to it is interfering. Diagnostic number 346009813.
I use TuneIn to access BBC radio on an almost daily basis.Any shows broadcast on the previous evening are usually available the day after. This was the case until yesterday when recent shows are unavailable.Any known reason for this. I have removed and uninstalled TuneIn but no difference
If I plug my Beam into the HDMI ARC output on the TV, my cable box would have to go into the other HDMI port, which won't be possible, as I would then have to choose one port or the other as a "source." I assume this means I can only use the optical adapter to connect the Beam?
Ever since I purchased my sonos playbar 3 years ago, the sound drops from the LG TV. It used to only happen once every couple of weeks, either watching TV, PlayStation or netflix through the WebOS. Now it seems to be happening 3 or 4 times a day. It is connected via optical cable. This cable has been replaced but it still happens. Are we able to update the firmware or something on my playbar? Or run some sort of diagnostic?
I love my Sonos Beam w/ Alexa, but it really sucks that a lot of baseline Alexa functionality doesn't work w/ Sonos. For example, I want to set a Routine that shuts off my TV, dims the lights, and plays Jazz music from Pandora at volume 10. I can easily setup this Routine on my iPhone, but Alexa on Sonos doesn't support it at all, which is incredibly annoying. Does your engineering team have a roadmap or timeline to adopt more of the standard or baseline Alexa functionality, like Routines?
Every time I try to use this speaker its 30-40 min of work to get it working. then I can't use my playlists, can't even use the AUX cable without going through hell (the stupid software) which limits everything. I don’t understand why you want to limit (control) us just using a speaker. Now after all the frustration it just doesn’t even work anymore lol. just flashes and won’t connect, and apparently according to the website it doesn’t support apple products for set up anymore which is something you have to do constantly with this garbage software. I’m about to throw this thing in the lake. Such a waste of time and money. I’ve wasted so many hours of my life on this trash. If you are looking to buy one of these (Don’t)!!!!
If I am playing music in my kitchen on my Sonos One and then walk into the living room, how do I ask Alexa to start playing the same music in the living room on my Sonos Beam. I know I can press and hold the play/pause touch button, but I want to ask Aexa to do this for me.Option 1 is I want the music to stop in the kitchen and play in the living room Option 2 is I want the music to continue playing in the kitchen but also play in the living room.I have groups set up in the Alexa app:Group 1 called Kitchen Group 2 called Living room Group 3 called downstairs which is Kitchen group + Living room groupAny help?
About a month ago I started having a problem playing Audible books through the Sonos app. When I try to play a book I get an error message saying “Unable to play ‘Opening credits’ - the song is not encoded correctly”. It quickly tries to play the next 4 chapters with the same error message before it fails and stops. I have the seven Harry Potter audiobooks through Audible and I had listened to the first two books with no problem. I would start the book in the Sonos app and then use Alexa for playback controls. With this I only use the Sonos app once in the beginning of a book and not again until I need to start another book. When I went to start the third book, that was when I noticed the problem described above. I tried playing both of the first two books that worked before, but both had the same error. I then tried two Audible Original books and those had the same error. With that it seems that it is unlikely to be a problem with an individual book. My setup is two Play:1’s as a ster
HiI just got a Move, at first all seams to work fine, but after some hours on the charging ring it just stoped working. The battery was flat and it didn't charge on the ring. Charling directly with USB-C works fine and it connects and play fine. The charging indicator on the app is only on when the USB-C is connected. I have tried multiple outlets (they all works for all other devices). I have tried to measure the power from the connectors on the ring using a voltmeter, no indication of any output. Any fix ? Regards Christian
I love Sonos. I have at least 15 products. Everything was fine until I tried to switch to S2. It didn’t recognize my very simple system at my beach house (one play:3 in the bedroom and two play:5 gen 2’s in the living room. I must have connected a component via Ethernet ten times already. I’ve rebooted, reset, initialized, you name it. My most recent attempt was to connect the play:3 directly to the router. It’s still there. Then I tried incorporating the two play 5’s. It can’t find them. Then I tried to find my speaker. It can’t find the Sonos WiFi. I’m striking out. I was on hold for 45 minutes with Sonos, then we were beginning the troubleshooting. Cecil said he’d call back if disconnected. We were disconnected once and he did call back. Then we have disconnected again and he never called back. Now it’s day two and I’ve been on hold now another 20 minutes. Cmon Sonos, don’t get too big I provide quality support. This &**cks. I never should have upgraded. I’m lost.
I just bought a couple One SL’s to set up surround sound and I’m encountering a incredibly loud buzzing/almost feedback sound from one of them that completely cuts out the audio. Right now the LED is flashing orange and white. I’m assuming I just have a fault speaker but I’d like confirmation/further detail on what the issue is if possible.I sent in two diagnostics immediately after the buzzing happened. Numbers are: 1704120026917381552 Thanks!
Hi, Wondering if you could assist, my Sonos One speakers are attached to my Sonos Beam for the surround sound. Recently my left Sonos One has started to crackle / static sound when TV is muted or switched off.I have repositioned the speaker and re-tuned it several times but it has not solved the issue.I have run diagnostics with the reference: 528283216
Good evening, today I received my first Sonos product. I opted for the BEAM to replace my broken Samsung Sound bar.I’m having an issue setting up the device. My goal is to connect it to my Samsung UE55KS9000T TV. My old Samsung Sound bar connected through Bluetooth, I presume I can do the same with the BEAM.I unboxed the BEAM and was surprise that it didn’t come with a remote control :). I connected it to the mains with an ethernet cable to my BT Smart Hub 2 router. I then installed the Sonos 2 App on my iPhone and created a Sonos Account. It found my BEAM (with the correct serial number). It then ask me to press the button on the BEAM, then the set-up process began. After 30secs is fails with a message ‘The connection to your Beam was lost. Make sure Beam is powered on” The BEAM is powered and this message happens everytime. I’ve even installed the App on my iPAD just in case my iPhone was dropping wifi signal, I get the same message.I’ve also connected the HDMI cable from the BEAM to
So I dove in and bought my first Sonos product this year and in July I picked up my Five. I have loved this speaker these past 3 months, but recently a couple of songs I’ve been listening to, I have noticed a rattling type sound, and I think it’s with certain bass frequencies. The rattle is like the casing/ housing is shaking. On my five, I use a flat EQ, all zeroes, I have setup the Trueplay and I prefer Loudness on.the 2 sounds I’ve noticed it on are:Deftones - Passenger (Mike Shinoda Remix)Kalley - Alabaster Heartboth through the Spotify service, selected through the Sonos V2 app. Also I don’t usually get higher than 50% on the volume, and I use the speaker alone in the horizontal position. Anybody have a similar experience, or have suggestions to change settings? Is the thing damaged/ can it be fixed? Really hope to fix this issue, since I have already ordered my next product, a Sonos refurbished Playbar is on the way from Beat Buy.
My Amazon music is not playing on my Sonos. I have the free version and it keeps telling me to upgrade. I have removed it and addded it back. I have reauthorized it but nothing works. Any recommendations?
Hi, I’ve set up a Sonos One in a similar location, where I previously used to have a Google mini (nest). The google mini used to work well. I could play music, get weather/jokes, ask questions. It would recognise my voice etc. The Sonos One is terrible! It recognises when any of us say ‘ok google’ but in the ‘my activity’ on google assistant it just has ‘unknown voice command’. It will respond (on occasion) to basic voice commands like what is the time, or it will play a playlist from Spotify, but most times it beeps when I say hey Google, and the light blinks a few times - then it goes back to playing music or ignoring me. When I check activity it says unknown voice command. how on earth do I fix this?
Hi,I have a brand new Sonos One. Alexa works fine with Spotify, but when I want to play radio from TuneIn all Alexa says are: sorry, something went wrong. This works fine on my Amazon Echo device.I can Also play from TuneIn via the Alexa app on my phone on the Sonos One.What can be wrong?
First of all - I am a 10+ years die hard Sonos ambassador - I just love Sonos products in everyway.I’m also an life long enthusiast of full speaker Hi-Fi and surround sound, and have many various setups including a full speaker, amp, sub setup as well as a Sonos Playbase 5.1 setup. The Playbase is really good, but can’t really win against my full featured Hi-Fi speaker/sub setup - and its also limited by missing HDMI ARC, etc. So when the Sonos Arc was announced my hopes was high and I ordered it right away. I quickly got i running and Trueplayed it. The first movie impressions was quite okay, however not really great. But the music listening was absolutely horrible - I could not believe how bad the sound was. Even my old Play 1 would beat it any day. So I tried tuning again, etc. but nothing helped. Looking around for solutions I stumbled upon the suggestion to Trueplay with and old iPad. I had Trueplayed tuned the setup with my iPhone XS which is said to have a filter for high treble
This has happened several times in the past and each time it gets just a little bit different. Here’s the scenario, I have a sonos move, beam, and 2 play:1’s in my set up. I have the beam and plays set up as a stereo surround system. I have Alexa configured as a voice assistant on both the move and the beam. With the move, if I say “Alexa play todays hits on pandora” it will do nothing. If I play it using the sonos app it plays, and I can control the volume with Alexa but nothing else. “Alexa stop” doesn’t work, “Alexa stop pandora” doesn’t work, “Alexa play 80s on pandora” doesn’t work. If I say “Alexa play my music” it will say “shuffling your music on amazon music” but then do nothing and continue to just play what was already playing.I’ve gone in and removed the alexa app from the sonos app altogether and then re-added it. This seemed to resolve it for a few days but now it’s back to the same behavior. I’ve removed alexa from the move and re-added it but still the same pro
Hi, my Sonos Arc finally arrived today. Unfortunately the product is unusable because the volume keeps automatically going to 100 all the damn time. I’m using an Apple TV 4K with it and using via HDMI ARC to my Samsung TV. All is fine, the Trueplay is setup and all. But I can see that the status light flashes as if someone was secretly turning the volume up until it can’t go any higher, after that the Sonos Arc just keeps beeping angrily because it can’t go any higher but keeps trying. The only solution I found is to disable the ‘Touch Controls’ option under Hardware settings on the Sonos app. Have I just paid £799 for a defective product? Should I return it? Or is it a bug with the app itself? Diagnostic confirmation number: 1032501406
