I have a Sonos Roam I purchased soon after launch. In the last 6 months, it has become very unreliable. When listening for an extended time using the battery, it will make a screech and pop sound before going dead. This has happened close to 10 times. Monitoring the speaker more recently, I noticed this happens when the battery gets below 30%.After trial and error, I found the only way to get the speaker to respond is to put it on both a wireless charger and plug it in overnight. The charging light never is illuminated. After using both chargers overnight, the speaker will not turn on unless you remove both chargers and then try the power button. Similar solutions are on Reddit and YouTube, although most did not have to wait overnight.Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? Given the recent reports of some Roam speakers catching fire, this is a little concerning.FWIW, I called support and described this situation. After being on the phone for 30 minutes, on hold
I Wondered if this is a known issue. Having saved a sonos playlist using the windows pc app (latest available version) if I then edit it and save it again using the same name I always get the message 'unable to save playlist' however when I look at the playlist it has saved all my updates correctly so there doesn't appear to be any issue with the functionality it's just the message that appears to be erroneous. What is making it think that it can't save the playlist updates?
Did anyone else's Sonos app update this week? Mine did and now the entire system is NOT FUNCTIONAL! Some of my speakers aren't connecting to Sonos and I can't cast from Spotify to Sonos. THIS IS A DISASTER. WHY DOES SONOS KEEP DOING THIS? They need to fire their entire IT division. Anyone else having issues?
Volume control on the iPhone app is a tiny dot and very difficult to use. Can you make it easy to increase or decrease by a percent or number with a click of the button?Lack of this feature is not allowing to enjoy the Sonos system completely. Sad!
I’d like to say that the following does not apply to the majority in this community. However, on the outside chance it may apply to a few here’s something to consider. But first let’s define what WAN stands for in networking.WAN_Wide Area Network Wired WAN (internet) speed: This is the max speed the router can connect to the internet/outside world with, shared cumulatively to all devices on your network whether wired or wireless. You want to make sure the router supports at least the speed your ISP is selling you.Today ISPs are providing speeds of 1GB, 2GB, 5GB and 8GB coming to homes/businesses. The latter two speeds are typically reserved for small to medium-sized business clients typically hosting a Wired environment and limited Wi-Fi usage.1GB and 2GB ISP speeds in homes are very common. Wi-Fi versus Wired clients make up the majority of the bandwidth usage. Today, a fast/robust Wi-Fi (or as some like to say albeit incorrectly “Strong Internet” 😊) is a must for audio/video strea
HelloThe graphic below is just to get your attention as I think it looks nice but adds nothing to the information being discussed other than the caption 😂. This link will take you to the article published in 2022. Below are quick links in the article that I decided to “star” as they highlight elements that I and other community members have been saying for years. I’m going to add an eighth (8th) mistake to avoid which is….Make sure satellite nodes in a Mesh network do not have DHCP capability to assign IP Addresses to clients. IP Address assignment (DHCP capability) should only be allowed by the main node which is the router in a Mesh network.Other points listed above are important as well, but some require additional expenditures such as Ethernet backhaul. I personally have my ASUS Wi-Fi 7 mesh network wired as such which provides rock solid performance for over sixty (60) clients. Thirty (30) of which are Sonos. IMO it’s a worthwhile investment. So, enough introduction. Click the li
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these two Gen 3 Subs?I have the original soundbar and want to add a sub to the system. It will be in my cinema room and hard wired to my network.https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sonos-SUBG3UK1BLK-SONOS-GEN3-Black/dp/B0876T1LRZ/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_w=lnqET&content-id=amzn1.sym.e4042fcb-2ca1-494d-bbe2-a14a9e531a4c%3Aamzn1.symc.fc11ad14-99c1-406b-aa77-051d0ba1aade&pf_rd_p=e4042fcb-2ca1-494d-bbe2-a14a9e531a4c&pf_rd_r=J9ERG0V6GD20MTH4PZ8K&pd_rd_wg=vNekk&pd_rd_r=ab7e765d-ddd4-4646-b3ce-20aec3daed46&ref_=pd_hp_d_atf_ci_mcx_mr_ca_hp_atf_d&th=1 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sonos-Sub-Gen-Wireless-Subwoofer/dp/B01HL8LXQ8/ref=pd_ci_mcx_pspc_dp_d_2_t_3?pd_rd_w=fyFHx&content-id=amzn1.sym.3911b526-fee6-441a-ada1-4ff2f7035f28&pf_rd_p=3911b526-fee6-441a-ada1-4ff2f7035f28&pf_rd_r=58B2Q27SHNY33B8RKHRJ&pd_rd_wg=P2ZwV&pd_rd_r=0c1d6be3-beba-4e4d-b5a0-bee578156a6d&pd_rd_i=B01HL8LXQ8
Was tempted to try iOS26 Public Beta and wondered if anyone else has tried and if Sonos S2 app works still. My phone is still my primary controller so won’t bother is there are major issues. Thanks in advance.
Hi ive recently gone from mac to pc and no longer have air mac...and i want to make the sonos my default speakers for my PC i asked co pilot about it🌐 Option 3: Streaming via Software (for full system audio)!--startfragment>!--startfragment>If you want to stream all PC audio wirelessly to Sonos:🛠️ Use third-party software like:Stream What You Hear (SWYH) – for Windows AirSonos or AudioBridge – for MacThese apps create a virtual stream that Sonos can play as a “radio station”:Install the app and start streaming. Copy the stream URL. In the Sonos app: Manage > Add Radio Station and paste the URL. Play it from Radio > My Radio Stations.!--endfragment>HAS anyone tried this...i have attempted using a 3.5 headphone jack with the line in option but it produces a loud humming sound and the quality was distorted,,,!--endfragment>
This is me: I am a 79 year old guy who began my hi-fi journey in 1971. Last year I upgraded from an Arc to an Ultra; I hear a positive difference. My rear surrounds are in-ceiling Klipsch speakers powered by a Sonos Amp; works fine, a real improvement from the SL Ones, which I sold. My Sub 3 is in the hardware mix, too. Good device.Late to the party I guess, but I just heard about Sonosequencr a few days ago, and I am interested. I am reading all I can find on the internet, but need more information from real users.I would choose between a pair of Era 100s or Fives as exernal l/r speakers, but space and budget have me looking to the Era 100s. Looks like I still have a 15% discount coming from Sonos. I would love the Fives, but WAF would prevail. Not sure there is enough audio info to make good use of the Fives.Hardware choice is the easy part. I would like to hear from my fellow users about your experiences with the software. Now, I understand it is a third party product that relies on
When the HE, double Hockey Sticks is Sonos going to fix the Android S2 app so that there are playback controls on the phone lock screen??? This is a ridiculous, and somewhat insulting, oversight!
Era speaker won’t identify any songs from Services or library. Gustavo only replies. “Nothing is playing”. Doesn’t matter if I’m using the app or the S2 on the Mac. Anyone else have this issue and how did you resolve it? Not using Google or Alexa assistants
Hi everyone,I’m trying to recover my old first-generation Play:5 (ZonePlayer S5). It had been working fine for years, connected over Wi-Fi through a Sonos Bridge. Recently, it stopped responding and disappeared from the system.I tried performing a factory reset (Mute + power), and the LED now flashes green as expected — indicating it should be ready for setup. However, the device no longer shows up in the Sonos S1 app, and I can’t find it on my network (it doesn’t appear in the router's DHCP client list, no IP assigned). To troubleshoot, I turned off and disconnected the Sonos Bridge, then connected the Play:5 directly to the router via Ethernet. I’ve also tried different cables, ports, and repeated the reset several times — still no detection.Has anyone experienced something similar or found a way to bring the device back online? Thanks in advance for any ideas! Olivier
Hi there I have been using Amazon Prime for streaming and just seen its now £20 a month. Please can anyone recommend a good streaming app for my in multi room amp the speakers are built I to ceilings.Thank you.
So, like many, I have older S1 SMBv1 compatible units that can no longer access shared drives on my NAS, even if I enable SMBv1 on the NAS. I was frustrated and had read many on here with the same issues and frustrations. So I set about finding a way around this.My solution will not work for everyone (I know, sorry) but those with a compatible NAS should be able to do this. What worked for me.I run TrueNas on my Beelink NAS. (It’s available as a installable package on many NAS brands) I installed Plex server on my NAS and configured it to run a media server on my local network only. I then added the Plex music service to my old S1 devices and now have access to all my music again! Here’s a video to help with the setup of Plex on the NAS. I only have the free version of Plex and it is working fine, so far.I hope that helps some of you! I was getting really annoyed not being able to access my music since I upgraded my storage but as the saying goes “there are no problems, only solutions”
I finally given up and thrown the multiple of thousand dollars of Sonos equipment into the garbage… Because it is just garbage now. After months of trying to get it to work, it cannot work reliably and it is worthless so great job.
Anyone installed the new update yet?
I was forced to change my wifi password. A plain, simple password change. No changes to the network as such.To no surprise, this did not go down very well with the Sonos system. Not able to handle at all. Components dropping out, lost, half of the stereo pair and so on. The default message: “An error occured”. Go figure. The solution: hard reset of all components connected wireless, followed by several reboots of router and components. Took me about four hours to get it all working again. Well, some sort of working. Still issues with sound randomly dropping.Needless to say I didn’t bother to contact support as they would have adviced what I already new: reset and reboot. One should assume a password change should be straightforward but no, no, not with Sonos. Unbelievable, but also not surprised. After more than a year (and still counting) after the Grand App Debacle getting used to this.
while I have a well controlled environment with my music library on a Synology NAS that works fine, I would like to have some insight about the repository on SONOS - in particular I would like to know how SONOS stores the index and on which devices (if not all) - I have a mixture of SONOS devices (Move, Beam, One, Five, Port, Amp, etc.) and would like to know if there are any good practices to follow to make the Music library update work faster - many thanks in advance
Context: I use a Beam for our TV, and, in a separate “room”, two Fives and a sub for music. They’re in the same physical room but need two Sonos rooms to group them.Sometimes, for movie night, I want to temporarly have the sub join the TV beam. This involves moving the sub between rooms. Problem: Moving the sub loses the Trueplay settings. Not only is it quite time consuming (and loud) to restore, but the Trueplay process isn’t “exact” and sometimes the result isn’t as good, so I don’t want to re-do it when I have a great-sounding Trueplay.Feature Request: A possibility to either export/import trueplay settings, or to have the system automatically re-apply the ‘last known trueplay settings’ when the sub is moved back to its original group. I hope the team will take this into consideration. Thank you!
Hello - I just bought my first Sonos speaker (Era 100) and was going to use it as my alexa mic. For some reason - I ONLY see Sonos voice assist as an option when picking voice assist. I’ve linked and relinked the alexa app and tried pretty much everything suggested. Can I even use the Era 100 with Alexa voice assistant? I will be returning this speaker if not.
Hi, new to the community and not much, but so far very good experience with Sonos.I am currently setting up a gelato/coffee/dessert Bar, and looking for a easy speaker solution. Doesn’t need to be ultra loud, just a good back-round sound.Ceiling is 3.60m high. Roughly 7 meter wide 9 meter long room. Most seating will go on the left side, while bar, coffee machine and gelato display will be on the right. Wondering if 2 x Era 300 would be enough and if a placement above the seating on the left (2m high) would be a good choice. Hope this makes sense, sorry for the poor picture… Any advice appreciated!
Hi, I love entertaining and keeping my music in the Bathroom, but sometimes I want to crank and jam on certain speakers but don’t want all my speakers in my group cranked. I suggest adding a volume lock feature so while speakers are grouped, individual ones can be locked so their volume will remain fixed even while the entire group volume is altered. Thank you
Still cannot get my local music library to work.Stored in various places on Windows pc with attached hard drive also..Have been onto Support 3 times and they have got it working and then the next day back to the same scenario.. Cannot play music message…. Have tried the delete and re-add library and get the 913 error ..Have tried all the Share and Permission stuff…sooo frustrating..hellp!!
