I have updated the Sonos IOS app on just ONE of my IOS devices (thankfully). My overall impression of the new Sonos IOS app is that it is missing quite a bit of functionality that was available in the old app. I therefore suspect there will be quite a backlash from existing users until Sonos address some of these issues. For what it is worth, here is my initial list of issues/questions…1 - There are issues with the Rova service on the new app. When you click on Rova via the “Your Services” rail nothing shows. My other IOS devices that are still using the old Sonos app correctly show the list of Rova Station selections as expected.2 - Related to the above point, when searching for a radio station. e.g. “The Sound” the Rova stations do not show in the results and the Rova service icon in the search rail shows with a “!” icon next to the service name. Doing the same search using the old app correctly returns the Rova stations in the search results.3 - The “Sonos Favorites” rail list on
The Sonos Web site says that Roam and Move can--does this mean that Roam 2 and Move 2 can’t?
I’ve got Sonos Amp + Sub with a pair of KEF Q150. Looking to replace the Q150 with Beolab 18. How can I connect? Currently, I use the Sonos Amp with TV for Disney+/Netflix and Spotify for music. Thanks. Beolab 18 First time setup Beolab has toslink and RCA.
Help please from anyone, running S2 app on my system samsung s22... I reinstalled the app in an attempt to be able to play something on my system... Mix if new and old S2 compatible speakers... I have 5 play:1 speakers, and often experience failures on one or more of them. The music plays and suddenly the speakers alternately stop working, then start again, this happens over a period of several minutes. There is good wireless coverage, I have tried switching between the channels. The software and the app are updated, other apps can access the web just fine - why do these failures happen??
So, I’m trying to understand how Sonos currently deals with SonosNet? My Sonos environment is a good 12 years old, and was using SonosNet wireless before connecting directly to reliable wifi networks was a thing. I’ve had issues with SonosNet on and off over the years. As I’m currently on an On period of having issues with it, and I have a very reliable wifi network these days, I figured maybe it’s about time to move off of SonosNet and dedicatedly use only WiFi and wired connections. I went into my network settings and could see info about SonosNet and my wifi network there. But it wouldn’t let me do anything until I did an app update, so I did. I’m now on the *new and redesigned* app. However now, when I go into Network settings, I see nothing about SonosNet, the ONLY thing I see is my wifi network there. Yet, if I go into look at About My System, all my devices say they are connected by WM: SONOSNET, including both my wireless and wired speakers. The only one that say
Hi. I see that the alarm function has been restored after some outrage but in my iOS app it is not functioning. I try and add an alarm and it just doesn’t create one. Is there a solution to this please?
I must be missing something on how groups (S2 system, new app) work...please tell me how to do it right! I have about 12 sonos products in my home. Often, I run most of them in a single group called “inside” which includes all but 2 of the products. I group them together using the “inside” group. In the evenings, I want to cut it back to just 3 of the products, so I try to select just the “small” group, but that just turns off those speakers within the “inside” group. The only way I’ve found to reduce the number of speakers in a group is to first click “everwhere”...twice...first to select everything, then to select nothing, then click the “small” group. Well...I suppose I could “uncheck” 8 speakers one at a time too...but that’s seems silly when groups are supposed to make this all easier..So much fiddling can’t be right! Please tell me a more efficient way to do this.
I am in Italy and I can no longer connect to radio stations via Tuneln, it seems that it has become paid, has anyone had similar experiences?Thank you
Sonos after May update not allowing SMBv1 only SMBv2-3how about Apple AFP protocol on a nas?
I have 3 roams (gen.1) and one move (gen.1)They can't connect or find my system anymore!Who can help please?
Mortified to discover that it is no longer possible to play tracks stored on the PC in the iTunes Library over the SONOS system. We were planning to upgrade our SONOS speakers and Sub. Now researching alternate manufacturer. So sad that we have reached this state of affairs.
I am using my Sonos Beam. It looks like a new version of the Sonos app was automatically downloaded to my phone last night(it's now black instead of gold). In the new version, the app does not seem to be finding "Recently Played" or other things like playlists that I have set up on Sonos. If you look at the screenshot below, you can see gray squares and lines where it looks like content is supposed to be but apparently is not getting pulled in. Seems like I need to connect something, but not sure what.I am still able to get to Amazon Music and my Amazon Music playlists, but I cannot see the playlists I created on Sonos itself (on the old app there was a star that I could click for that). I know there is currently an issue with Amazon Music, but I don’t seem to be having any problem getting to Amazon Music.Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!Cheers,Burt
I have very limited functionality using my main music service- YouTube Music. I’m no longer able to create or edit playlists. I can only add songs to Sonos favorites. I’m honestly very frustrated.
This was always an issue when I was downloading new versions of the Mac Desktop controllers.Every. Single. Time. I received the attached error message when trying to download the new desktop controller. The “fix” from Sonos engineers was to go to the site and download it there.Glad they’re on the case. Hello, I have a system of 8 various Sonos speakers that I set up about 6m ago. The system has been working great. But a couple days ago the two Era 100s (newest speakers in my system) stopped working. I tried the a factory reset. Seemed to work, but when I tried to add them back to my system it said unable to connect. Deleted and reinstalled the app, tried it again. Still saying unable to connect.Any advice? Thanks,
Trying to decide best placement for my 2 rear ERA 300 speakers. I want to place them higher up on the wall close to the ceiling, I know the ideal distance is 1-2 feet below the ceiling for wall mounts. I don't want them in the middle of the wall.Option 1)I think this will be best placement, but it's both speakers to the right & left of the circle mirror. This would allow me to place them 1-2 feet below ceiling. The entire wall is 9 feet wide, so it would allow about 7.5-8 feet between the speakers.Option 2)The archway really complicates things because if I mount it in the middle of the archway it's way too close to the ceiling. So I could mount it all the way to the right side of the picture, because of the archway, I would only be able to get the speaker about 10" from the ceiling, the 2 speakers would be about 20 feet apart.Any advice is appreciated!Option 1Option 2Any help is appreciated! I know the archway does not make for the ideal situation!
Just updated my Mac controller to V16.3Music Library, which had been working is now empty.
what sonos is doing is that they want your location, and it does not matter to them.Sonos is a speaker and local access from my phone to the speaker is all that’s needed to stream .This is an inconvenience. I use VPN as a form of protection . I pay for my subscriptions and sonos is just a casting service. Sonos is getting more and more intrusive for a speaker company .
Prior to updating the app, I had a number of custom streaming radio stations whose URLs I had painstakingly curated using the (old) TuneIn service. After updating the app, where are they? Gone!Does the new app have the ability to configure streaming radio by URL? Nah, I didn’t think so.
I had problems with Alexa and was encouraged to deregister some of my products to fix this. Now three of my devices font respond anymore. Amazon think its a Sonos issue but as that system works well i find it hard to address.. I no longer see the Wifi sign next to the disabled speakers but not sure how to re-enable this. Should the Wifi on my beams and Sonos One be enabled or disabled. Only the One has no Ethernet.
Merci! Moderator Note - Translation by Google:Hello, one of my first generation Play5 speakers has been making very bad sound for a few days. It hasn't moved and the second Play5 located at the other end of the room continues to work perfectly: apart from considering it ruined, is there anything to be done? THANKS!
I tend to use the Sonos Windows desktop app as I work from home and it is easy for me to pause the music although I now sometimes use the voice command but does not work well when music is at a high volume. However, I seem to be having trouble re-authorising the Apple app.A week ago my Sonos desktop app asked to be re-authorised.My new shiny Sonos IOS app continued to work okay but I re-authorised it anyway Took about 3 attempts before I could play using the desktop app. Now not even a week later the destkop app is aksing to be re-authorised again.I have done it again but it still wont play. In between it has been working okay and my IOS app still works on Apple music Thoughts?
What sets SNOS apart in terms of user interface and experience?
I have three sound bars in three separate rooms. Arc (family room), Beam (attic), Beam (master bedroom). The Arc and the Beam in the attic room have a linked volume, but they are not grouped and are not playing the same media. For example: If I am listening to music on one, and someone is watching TV on the other, the volumes raise and lower together as each user changes the volumes for their media in their room. This does not happen with the other Beam in the bedroom. Any ideas what's up, or how to fix this issue? I have tried grouping with other rooms, ungrouping, etc. Thanks!
