For the past week, since the latest Mac update, my Mac OS desktop controller will crash and can’t be accessed. Through a few chats with Sonos support, the issue appears to be the Local Network settings under Privacy & Security. Force Quit the Sonos app - go to that setting and toggle the Sonos access - restart the app and, voila, problem solved. But…...a glitch that should be addressed?
Connectivity:New to the community but wondering if I can get help. I have 2 Sonos Amps - 8 Sonance ceiling speakers - sonos arc ultra and Bravia 7 tv.Doing a reno and have all the wringing set up to connect 4 speakers in the entertainment room to one amp. The other 4 speakers will be connected to the second amp (kitchen/dining room). The arc ultra will connect to the tv with HDMI. Assuming another HDMI connection from the entertainment AMP to TV will work to have the tv sound for bar and the 4 ceiling speakers?
I just downloaded the third-party app Sonify which released earlier this week and from a first impression it is much faster than the official app AND provides lockscreen controls on my iPhone incl. physical iphone volume buttons for volume control! How can it be that a third-party app does it better and gets released to the app store which somewhat suggests that lockscreen controls are not only reserved for Apple and Spotify apparently…
Hello la communauté, quelqu'un sais si beatport et sonos sont relié ? Merci !!!
I see Apple has recently enabled a direct import from Spotify, previously you would have had to use a 3rd Party App (eg SongShift) to migrate, I assume is now a whole lot easier to migrate Spotify playlists:https://support.apple.com/en-us/118249Edit: The Apple Music transfer is actually powered by SongShift.
I have an Epson videobeam and every time I try to integrate it into a Sonos system via the HDMI cable between the videobeam and the Beam speaker I have trouble when I switch sources of sound at the Beamer. What is the seamless way to do it
Just adding this thread to see if a solution has been found. As Im sure many others have experienced, in my Sonos app, not all songs in my playlists are available to play. Many songs are greyed out. Lets get some urgency behind this problem and find a solution!’
I’d like to add a second sub mini. I use my Sonos system for music, so a larger ported sub doesn’t make much sense. I have a lot of experience with subwoofer installation and the benefit of two smaller subs almost always wins out against one larger sub for music, even though it probably won’t be as loud, it will simply sound better in more listening locations of a room. I wonder if this is possible or if there is a feature request option to forward to Sonos. If you haven’t tried this before, the best way I can describe it is a less pronounced version (since lower frequency sounds aren’t directional) version to one speaker alone, and then adding a second for a stereo pair. Room resonance issues can create peaks and valleys in different locations. A single subwoofer will have the same room resonance issues in said location even if you triple its size. A second sub does wonders to smooth this out so more parts of the room have an even, pleasant bass. I’m really surprised it’s not a featur
It's past time to sack the software development team, they must be working for the competition, there is no other explanation. The app has got worse again. I will not invest any further in Sonos hardware until the app is back to where it was. Frankly it is crap. I feel conned. Great hardware with crap software. What the hell are you idiots doing? Sack the developers and let a third party in or gold.
I am receiving a same vicious message : Connection expired, no access to the Server.. Do you have issues… I am considering to drop Sonos return with Bose. Sonos application seems to be very unstable. Can you please fix it .I have 2 sonos Era, 1 ARC Ultra, 1 Sub 4. I just want to enjoy the music. Best regards.

Lot of comments and disappointment with Sonos Sub Gen 2. All seem to be ignored by Sonos. I had 2 of these units. Both have now failed and become useless within 5 years. Very disappointing considering I still have alternate old school speakers that are 25 years old still going well. Obviously a fundamental issue with these subs which Sonos had no solution for fix. Only receive 30% reduction on new product. Sonos should provide 5 year warrenty to standby their product.
I am trying to repair a generation 2 sub. I have narrowed the problem down to the secondary power supplies. R37 has been burned out, there were posts that said R37 is a 18 ohm resistor however the marking on posted pictures show a smt resistor marked 18d. This is not a 180 Ohm resistor. Has anyone successfully repaired a sub 2 with the problem being the secondary logic voltages ? I believe I have identified Q16 and D6? marked as Y2 and 2F. Any help would be appreciated, as there is very little info on the web. Thanks, Carl
The last update a couple of weeks ago made my gen3 subs sound so much better there is another update today I googled about update it says to revert Sonos sub gen3 back to previous update I haven’t done update cos I love the new sound is anyone else in this situation
Wondering if there will be a new Sonos amp coming? I have Sonos products but I have some passive speakers that I want to hook up into the Sonos eco system in a surround sound set up. The current amp has aging WiFi, and I see there are some rumors swirling of a new amp. If anyone can shed light on this it’ll be much appreciated
Awhile back, the Arc Ultra surround was changed so as to increase only the rear speaker volume with the TV level slider. I propose an option in which you can choose whether to increase the arc ultra surround and rear surround in tandem if you wish. This would maintain the balance between front and raar in certain mixes.
Firstly, I totally understand that when the speakers are in surround mode, that they need to operate differently with less room for latency and error when they’re acting as Slave speakers to a soundbar. I totally acknowledge and accept that. However, I think it would be a great idea in the future to be able to quickly switch between a sort of “Surround” mode and “Standalone” mode. That way, when I want to watch films with the surrounds, I can enable it with the click of the button, just waiting a few moments for it to be configured and my trueplay profile saved. Rather than the need to set it up from new again. Same with connecting it back as a standalone device with my line-in input. I bought a pair of era 100s with this idea in mind, not doing my research to find out that it wasn’t possible. I am likely still keeping my 100s, but I would love to be able to easily switch between a theatre mode and standalone mode for these speakers.
So I had a cunning plan. I was going to rip all my old CD’s and play them through a couple of Sonos speakers. The speakers are great, but I am struggling to find a device to play them throughI tried a Brennan, but the poor UI, lack of a dedicated app, and limitations of file format and slow ripping performance has meant it is less than optimal. I could but a NAS on there, but I would like a box that contained online access with physical controls (and if it could connect to internet radio and streaming services, even better). I’m am looking at the WiiM Ultra, but Sonos dedicated support seems to be still in Beta, or unclear.Has anyone got any better suggestions?
I bought arc ultra and connected to sony tv. TV keep changing it to external speaker instead of TV speaker. i don’t want to use external speaker all the time and turn on Arc only when I needed
I bought new ERA 100 speakers and suddenly AirPlay stopped working in several speakers/rooms all the time. It was total chaos and I hated Sonos.Sonos Setup: Arc, with sun and satellites. 2 ERA 100 in Stereo pair, Move and two ikea speakers in two different rooms.WiFi setup: Ubiquity UniFi with Wifi 6 APs and USG Pro.I spent ALOT of time troubleshooting and started to get crazy, when I finally seemed to have found a viable solution. Sonos is apparently extremely picky with the frequencies and WiFi settings in general, but what solved it for me was to:Set the WiFi channel to 1, 6 or 11 depending on what channel you’ve set the Sonos net to (it should not be the same) Set the channel width to 20mhz. Lock the speakers to a certain WiFi-accesspoint (wifi hardware) in the UniFi portal. Disable the 5 GHz frequencies on that particular accesspoint. So EVERY speaker stream on the same bandwidth (2,4Ghz in my case, but I suppose you could force them all to 5ghz also, but I have other IOT s
Hi, I have recently upgraded my router and now my Beam, Sub and Surround Play 1s won’t work correctly unless the Beam is connected by Ethernet. Sonos help helped but after the best part of a day and numerous system reboots/resets I was told it’s down to the router not having split bands…? Vodafone showed me how to change it to compatibility mode, but still no use.
I have a very nice but old Yamaha turntable and a Pro-Ject S2 preamp. Just for kicks I’d thought I’d connect them to a pair of Play:5 speakers working as a stereo pair. I’ll use an 3.5mm to RCA cable to connect the speakers to the preamp. Both the preamp and the Sonos speakers have gain settings. Any advice on what to use? The Yamaha has a MM cartridge. All tips are welcome.
Hi AllWe are happy to announce to all Arc Ultra owners that the latest Sonos system update (issued today) includes a change to the behaviour of the “TV Level” surround setting slider option, in response to your feedback.Previously, the slider had an effect on the apparent volume of the Arc Ultra itself, as the Arc Ultra is involved with the rendering of the rear channels, even when rear speakers are present. Now, the new behaviour of the “TV Level” setting will be that it will only affect the rear drivers/speakers, rather than the rear channels. The result of this is that when adjusting “TV Level”, you will no longer hear the audio coming directly from the Arc Ultra increase or decrease with the slider. Instead, you will only hear the surround speakers raise or lower their volume with the slider.I hope you all enjoy the change we’ve made - happy listening! Please note that I am keeping this thread separate from the threads already extant in relation to Arc Ultra and it’s audio profile. If you have 5 minutes and want to avoid the same rathole, read on.I purchased a refurb ERA 100. It came but was basically DOA. I returned it and got another refurb. This one at least tried to connect. After hours with tech support and after resetting all my wifi stuff (as well as my neighbor’s wifi, ok, not quite) I got it to connect to an existing sonos system with 4 well used and stable devices, 2 Play1’s, a One SL, and a Port. Three days later it was no longer connected. Nothing changed. Power was on, the other 4 units are still connected. So I gave up and decided to get them to honor the money back guarantee. Then things really started to go downhill. I was able to process an RO online but they never sent a shipping label. I called weekly. I chatted. I emailed, I emailed the CEO. It has been over two weeks, still no label. During the email exercise they decided that to be helpful they would cancel the RO. Still no shipping label. All I want to do is return this th
