Troubleshoot, tune and get the most out of your system

Hi all, (4K Movies specifically)No I didn’t do my research, but have a small room and find the Beam is super, so am sticking with it.I have a few movies on my hard drive which I have needed to re-download as long as I can find Dolby versions….I could just change my LGTV sound settings to ‘pcm’ rather than ‘auto’ for every DTS movie, but that’s a slight drag.Don’t want to focus 100% on one title, but as an example I’ve been looking for the original Alien movie, but every 2160p example I can find has DTS. So I was wondering if there is a website or source which lists movies that have Dolby sound?May be a long shot but thought I’d ask anyway. Thanks
Just set up one speaker so far and seeing how it sounds, which is awesome! The two questions I have are:Is there a way to set the treble and bass or is factory set? On my phone which I do have the app, is there a way to turn off the speakers or do I have to do that manually to each speaker?
Es posible conectar varios usuarios (celulares) a la misma bocina? ¿cómo se hace? para que la sign usando cuando yo no estoy en casa!
So I am an outlier and know this. I have 36 devices on my system and it keeps booting out or dropping the stereo pair on devices once I exceed the 32 speaker limit. So I’ve resorted to putting the other 4 on a different account. There are many issues to this though, Amazon can only link to one Sonos account at a time, I cannot seamlessly hop between systems easily because they use different email addresses for the other services like amazon that get tied into it, and more. Researching has shown this is something that has been discussed for some 5 years, but I’d think at this point and in technology given all my stuff is under a year old, Arcs/5s/1s/Subs/Moves/Roams/and one beam, there is no reason a workaround shouldn’t have been developed. I’m curious if Sonos is going to ever move forward or we keep citing the UPNP limitation of 32 devices…. I do use Airplay and have no issues with this. But it ties in with Apple Music and Alex is a failure say the least.
Given that a lot of solutions to issues with Sonos products is to reboot them (turn off at the mains outlet and wait a few minutes and then turn them back on), why is there no option to have Sonos power cycle the speaker in the app? In my setup, there are a few speakers that it is difficult to get to the plug sockets, and they are mounted on brackets that means I cannot easily pull the cords out of the back of the speakers. This seems like a no-brainer to me.
Hi there,When I have the whole house grouped together, or groups that include an autoplay component, when these leave the group to play their autoplay source the rest of the speakers will resume whatever was paused. This also happened when I was trueplay tuning a play:3, it split off the group to be tuned, and the music resumed everywhere else, whilst I was trying to tune!Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Hi! I've bought 2 play 5 2nd gen devices. A year ago i had no troubles, but from that time y had troubles with one of them. When i turn on de Spotify app and play a song for the first time, it often sounds with no delay, but after 3 o 4 songs it begins the lag or delay. It could take until 30 seconds.I've updated sonos and spotify app, and nothing happens. After 1 or 2 hours it begins ok, then fail after 3 or 4 songs again. Please, i need your help. Its a dissguse to take a pause to enjoy my inversion with one of the best audio sistem and get frustrated with this issue.
Seen a lot of answers on this topic but wondering if anyone can offer advice. I plan on mounting my arc 10cm/4 inches above my dining table which has a height of 78cm. Then the tv will be mounted 14cm/5.5inches above the top of the Arc. The table will sit against the wall under the arc with the recommended 10cm gap. Obviously being a table it will stand out from the wall with a depth of 80cm. Will the sound be affected by the tables positioning at all? I assume the sound will just travel across the room unaffected by the table as I’m following all distance recommendations but just want to ask advice!
Super excited to bring home brand new Sonos arc. Went through the entire set up process connected it to TV things are looking great. Log into Amazon, went to add it to the everywhere group only to discover it cannot be. Immediately started researching this and was very disappointed.Packed it all up and returned everything to Best Buy. Speaker sounded great however without the ability to add it to the everywhere group it is useless to me.
Sounds odd but I was reviewing the troubleshooting playlist. One of the items is to reboot all units. With almost 20 different Sonos products in my house I laughed in that their would be no way I would do that. So I am wondering if it’s possible to develop a feature that’s like a mass reboot or specific reboot signal that could just happen from the app. Just a thought.
Merci !!!
Used to listen to www.247MusicMix.comvia Sonos on MyTunerNow suddenly it won’t work. Works fine on the MyTuner app - station haven’t changed anything either. Also it’s listed on radio.net but not seen on Sonos via radio.net
Tried to call 800-852-6105 from Singapore from 17:00 - 23:00 based on (https://support.sonos.com/s/contact?language=en_US) for 2 days and was greeted by a voice message suggesting the line is closed. Does anyone knows how else i can reach sonos support? via Email is also good. Thanks!
Since last week my Sonos has been unable to play local radio stations through either TuneIn or myTuner radio. “Main” BBC radio stations like Radio 1 and 2 still work, but local radio just gives me a BBC message stating that either technical problems contractual restraints means the content is not available. anyone else? Or just me.
Hi, I have read all the threads about this issue but can't seem to find the solution for my new laptop. I have run the Sonos S1 controller app with no issues with my former Windows 10 laptop. I just acquired a new laptop and tried installing the app but keep running into the same error message. The app installs with no problem but when trying to launch it, I get the following error message: "Unable to load pcdcr.dll. Please re-install”I have deleted and reinstalled multiple times but to no avail. Here is my system details:Device name LAPTOP-4I6I7JU6Processor AMD Ryzen 7 5700U with Radeon Graphics 1.80 GHzInstalled RAM 8.00 GB (7.35 GB usable)System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processorEdition Windows 10 HomeVersion 20H2Installed on 7/2/2021OS build 19042.1110Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0 Any help is appreciated!
Sonos turns on suddenly and repeatedly at night. It’s not alarms. Please advise!
I posted this on SO originally, as that is supposed to be the official developer channel, but Sonos seem to have abandoned that, so I am re-posting here.https://stackoverflow.com/questions/68520439/have-sonos-given-up-supporting-their-apis-and-or-stackoverflowThe Sonos developer site says that stackoverflow is the place to get support for their APIs, but they have been totally silent there for a long time. Additionally their developer site has gotten woefully behind what the APIs actually support. So my questions for Sonos here are:Is stackoverflow still the official way to get support for their APIs? Do they plan on updating developer.sonos.com with the newer APIs that are missing? Do these APIs even have a future? We know that Sonos are going to lock down the developer site soon, but then what? Developers need APIs, and those APIs need support from their owners.
I was listening to music at about 10% of full volume when all of the sudden the music paused mid-song and then a few seconds later out of nowhere came this horrible screechy/scratch noise. The noise was at full volume even though I was listening just moments before and a low volume. It sounded like a demon had possessed my system. I have a a paired set of first gen sonos ones, a single sonos five, and a sonos arc. This happened while listening on the paired ones and sonos five grouped. Diagnostic info sent: 191715886
I live in an apartment bldg. with community WiFi. I am unable to connect my Playbar to the WiFi. So I punched a mobile wwfi/router to alleviate this problem, but I still cannot connect. Please help. Thanks Paul
Hi Sonos Community. I have Sonos set up in every room except my main room, which is pretty large and has 10 built in wall and ceiling speakers. In that room I use a receiver with a center channel speaker. But, I’ve noticed I really don’t seem to get much out of any of the speakers other than the center and rears. I’d love to my whole house on the same app and controls. So, even though the Arc can only do 3-2-1, I’m trying to figure out whether I really lose any audio quality by getting an arc, and pairing it with a bunch of Amps for my speakers, and dumping the receiver and center channel. Any advice/thoughts from those out there who really understand audio and acoustics?
Hi,I really hope someone can help. We have a Sonos system in the house set up with 10 rooms and a variety of speakers in each room. Everything is running on S2 app. For the first time yesterday I tried to have music streaming through the whole house and garden. Streaming a radio station works fine (eg BBC Radio 1, Classic FM), all the speakers play the same music at the same time, no drop outs or loss of signal. However, as soon as I try to stream music via Amazon music it is awful, constant random rooms dropping out or the volume decreases significantly then tracks skip or don’t play, the whole system stops and the app won’t respond. Switch back to BBC Radio 1 and it all works seamlessly again. I can stream music to a single room no problem, works perfectly, as soon as you get to 3 or more rooms, it starts to happen again.I’ve tried switching everything off, re-booting, switching wi-fi off and starting again, but it continues to be an issue. I tried subscribing to Sonos Radio HD in th
Hi. I have a Sonos beam and a Gen 3 Sub. The Sub regularly (daily) disappears from the system. The beam still works fine and is in the App, but the Sub has vanished (system setup in the app shows ‘Beam +?’)Only solution seems to be a factory reset of the sub and then reintroduce it to the system. Not ideal and yesterday I couldn't get it back at all and after a faff I now have the sub but no beam :)Soooooo. My culprit I think is Sky Q interfering maybe. Ive tried both 5G and 2.4G frequencies and the same thing still happens.I’m thinking of going down the powerline route and putting a network cable into the sub and maybe the beam too. Has anyone tried this? thanks.Paul
Hi, I am unable to play Amazon music Unlimited stations on Sonos. Tracks, albums etc all work. But when trying to play a station I get the message “requested operation failed. Please try again”. Of course, trying again only gives the same result. I have restarted my router and deleted and reinstalled Amazon Music, but to no avail.
I don’t know when it happened or why, but my Google Pixel 5 lost connectivity with my SONOS ONE (gen2) configuration. It was working fine for literally MONTHS. My new Kindle Fire 10 is absolutely fine and connects with no issue. This is what my “rant” is really about. Once upon a time this product was simple and easy to use ... and easy to connect. Now, in order to connect the Android app to the system I need to turn on Bluetooth on my phone. Why? And I need to turn on Location Services on my phone. Again, why? And I need to turn on the microphone. Why, why, why? Why did you developers at Sonos take a perfectly good application and complicate the living hell out of it. I am getting really tired of taking 20 minutes out of my life to reconnect your app to your speakers and watch your symbol spin around for 5 minutes each time it asks for more permissions and STILL NOT CONNECT.You really need to re-evaluate what it is that you are trying to accomplish here because from a cust
I have contracted a new Wifi network (while keeping the previous for a transition period). My S1 system consists of: Bridge, Play3, Connect and Play5. I follow the Sonos recommended procedure (connect one of the units to my router via an ethernet cable, and in the S-app connecting to the new Wifi net). Ok, connection succeds. When I disconnect the cable to the router, connection is lost ! (“Unable to connect to Sonos”).I have tried the same procedure restarting every S1-unit before disconnecting from the router with same negative result. The controller is an Ipad with IOS V14.6.Going back to my old Wifi net, solves of course the problem…Can anyone help with a solution ??
