Issues with newer wifi modems/routers are a neverending source of frustration.I have a wifi 6 fiber modem/router that automagically switches from 5ghz to 2.4ghz depending on distance, which is great for anything but Sonos, so I had to setup an additional network just for that.(and no, there’s no option to set up a different access point just for 2.4)This is painful because in my office I have to use the 2.4ghz network, which is slower, in order to use Sonos app on my PC to connect to the Play 1’s.Also, to control other Sonos components (Play 5’s, Sub, Move), my phone has to be on the separate 2.4 network. So, I bought a Boost, thinking Sonosnet would solve all my problems, but no… the Move won’t work with Sonosnet (I discovered after purchasing it). So… I have to continue with the separate 2.4ghz network. At the very least, the Boost should prominently note in the description that it does NOT work with Move. The Sonos page for Boost even displays the Move directly underneath!https://www.
LG 65SM9000PUA tv with Sonos ArcI could not get the sound output to stay on “internal tv speaker.” If I select internal tv speaker it automatically changes back to “HDMI Arc” to play output through the Sonos Arc.I researched the fix on this forum and wanted to share my findings. Both the TV and the Sonos app have settings for autoplay for sound output and both must be turned off. TV settings to adjust:”All settings” then “connection” then “hdmi device settings” then turn off “SIMPLINK (HDMI-CEC)”.Sonos app settings to adjust:“System” then select the corresponding device, for me it was “arc” then turn off “tv autoplay”Make sure both tv and sonos autoplay settings are off and you will be able to change from Sonos HDMI arc as sound output to internal tv speakers.Warning: when you change back to HDMI Arc input on the tv, the autoplay setting on the tv will be reactivated. It gets annoying turning off frequently but that’s the work around.Happy listening!
For 2+ years I had no issues using Sonos speakers and AirPods off the same devices. All great. I typically play to Sonos using AirPlay rather than the Sonos app.In the last ~1 month, I am getting really annoying behavior where I can’t successfully switch from AirPods to Sonos - I get the spinning wheel of death on the speaker glyph in OSx/iOS. The variation is that it’ll connect, but when I close the AirPods case, it’ll drop the Sonos connection and I can’t re-establish it. When I check the Sonos app, it thinks the speaker is playing the stream but it is actually coming out of my laptop/phone speaker. The fix is to reboot the speaker. Any ideas?
Hi,Suddenly my Spotify can't connect to my Sonos system. The Sonos speakers are greyed out. Restarted everything that could be restarted and still doesn't work. It works directly from Sonos app. Diagnostic: 1035883723

Why can't join GoogelHome group?
Hey, since the v13.3 update, the multiple volume sliders are gone from the Android app when multiple devices are grouped. Setup: Phone → [Bluetooth] → Roam → grouped with other speakers. Before 13.3, each speaker within the group would have its own volume slider, and they could be controlled independently. With 13.3, I don’t even get the in-app volume control, but rather the phone’s default bluetooth volume control. When playing straight on Sonos (without BT/Roam as the source), it’s the same problem: no multiple sliders are shown when using the main slider. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Sonos:5 won't stop playing random music! The controller app doesn't think anything is playing, so happily plays along! It took a long time to pin down what was happening because it was playing on the lowest volume setting and I was going nuts thinking I was hearing things. It seems to be a free station so there are ads mixed in too.The controller app shows nothing is playing, and when I use the physical button on the speaker it turns off for maybe a second, then right back on. The volume buttons seem to control the “phantom” station independent of what I play through the app. I’ve read about the Spotify issue allowing other users (on or off your wifi), but I would have assumed I could still both see what was playing and change it if this were the issue - no?It is connected via wifi only (no ethernet or line-in).
I have the latest version of the Sonos app for android installed on my phone (Galaxy A12) I have 8 Synfonisks devices attached to the app and they are all working fine. I am paying for Sonos radio and it is in my app by default. When I click on the magnifying glass and search for an artist or album, podcast etc. in the correct section of search It gives me the:No results found in Artists. There are no services set up in your Sonos system. Please add a service to search for content. My phone and all the devices are on the same wifi network and all have access to the internet.I have reauthorized the Sonos radio app and have restarted everything thing and this problem persists. All of the Sonos devices update to whatever the latest firmware is when I fist started them up this week.I click into the Sonos radio hd part of the app I see all the different sections with different music collections there is no where to search except for the magnifying glass at the bottom of the app. When I click
Hi there - in the past week or so my Play:1 in my kitchen has noticeably started to crackle and I’ve also heard this on other speakers - it seems like it only is happening when playing SiriusXM I just realized. Any idea on how to fix this or what do to to correct it? It’s driving me slightly bananas!!Diagnostic confirmation number: 275800366.Thanks! Adam
Since I updated to 13.3 my Roam is connecting to Bluetooth when I wake it instead of just WiFi. It does seem to connect to WiFi as well but now it is also connected to my phone. This occurs when I wake using the power button and the play button. Is there some way to prevent it from doing this?
Hi guys I plan to buy some Sonos One / Sonos One SL.I have a room where I would like to add 6 sonos speaker. I will probably use the sonos one for it size.2 Sonos one used with google assistant and 4 Sonos One SL.First question : do you think it is more efficient to add the 6 to one group or to pair them in stereo and add the 3 pairs to one group ?Second question : In that group I have 2 sonos with google assistant. Is it possible to control the group directly from the assistant ?Last one : f**k the size and take 2 Sonos Five. But in that case is it possible to control them with a classic google assistant ?Thank you community Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
I bought a new iMac in June. Ever since, I am unable to import my playlists from Music (formerly know as iTunes/Not Apple Music streaming) into Sonos. I’ve read many articles and had several calls to both Apple and Sonos, and still have the same problem 3 months later. Has anyone had a similar issue and have you found a way to successfully resolve it? Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi, I have two Sonos One speakers, and a Sonos Beam. They all work wirelessly, and have been working for about one year with not a hickup. Now they periodically disapear, and cannot be controlled from AirPlay, and cannot be found in the app. Sometimes I can connect them again by power-cycling them. I read a few of the forum posts here, and they all mention IP address problems, so I pulled up the client list on my router, but all of them have seperate IPs, and no other connection to the router share the IP. I also read about switching from one Access Point to another Access Point, but they all go through the same AP. Factory reset did not work either. I am about to give up on ever using the speakers again, after several days of troubleshooting. And Yes. I have power cycled the router, switches and AP, as well as the speakers in the correct order. Any good ideas? /Bo
Hi everyone!Over the last few months I’ve jumped deep into the Sonos eco-system, and absolutely love it.However, I’m running into one problem that I’d love to get feedback on.Specifically it has to do with Dolby Atmos playback from a UHD Blu-Ray on my ARC.Whenever I play an Atmos Blu-Ray it sounds amazing, BUT it is constantly stuttering and has occasional static. It happens pretty consistently throughout the movie, but especially when it’s loud and there is a lot going on. It does it to the point where the movie is pretty much unwatchable.I’ve tried everything I can think of. And I’ve got an idea of what it might be, but wanted to talk to the experts. Here’s my Setup:Sonos Arc One Gen 2 and One SL for rear surrounds Playstation 5 for Blu-Ray 2017 LG C7 55”My thought is that since the TV only has ARC, not e-ARC, that this might be causing the issue. The blu-ray is putting out True-HD Dolby Atmos content, so I wonder if it’s that connection that is causing the stuttering?Worth noting, I d
I want to place the Sonos Arc under the TV in this room with vaulted ceilings and a large landing above. Please see 3d drawing of room. Will i get much and/or any of the benefits of the Arc in a room like this?
Why is Sonos One voice recognition deteriorating? We have a Sonos One in the kitchen and Echo Flex linked to Playbar in the lounge.Sonos One recognises the Alexa prompt. But then doesn’t respond to commands. On the latest occasion, with no noise in the kitchen, no response from Sonos One but the Flex in the lounge picked up the alarm request. When I asked Sonos One though, it confirmed alarm set on Flex - although I didn't know that at first. There was only one alarm set although I had repeated the request.Voice recognition seems to have deteriorated recently. I could understand if the kitchen was really noisy with background noise. But it wasn’t. I was fairly close to the speaker and nothing. When we don’t want Alexa to respond, voice recognition works! Any ideas? We already recently reset Sonos One several times following advice with some Alexa/app issues. And have set up voice control again. At first, there was a noticeable improvement in voice control. But now it's really poor.
WTF, it’s getting REALLY old resetting my system. Reboot your router - my router is working fine. I’m not challenging all of the other electronics associated with my router. Reboot your Sonos players - running an eithernet cable to every6 fricken device again...and again. Quit and reopen the Sonos app - I’ve deleted the app way too many times. Anytime power is lost or we move a device to the screened in porch, it gets lost. Whew. There are too many other options in sound. I’m beginning to think Sonos needs to get their stuff together. Anyone frustrated with it. Thanks!
I have multiple Sonos products. Sonos Controllers are on Android and iOS products -- all wireless -- and one iMac M1 running MacOS 11.5.2 Big Sur that has the WiFi turned off -- and I have reasons not to have the iMac on WiFi. This iMac is hard-wired to a switch that, in turn, is driven by an IP address set by an Eero router. This same switch is hard-wired to a Sonos Boost. As a result, all of my Sonos products are in “wired mode (WM:0)” All computers, Sonos products, and Sonos Controllers have been updated to the latest releases.Recently, I’ve noted that the iMac’s Sonos Controller does not always show all of the Sonos products in my house. The products that it does show work fine, as does access to the music library that is on a NAS, as well as other subscribed streaming audio services…..just some devices are missing. Doing a “Force Quit” of the Sonos Controller on the iMAC, followed by a restart does not solve the problem. Rebooting the iMAC does not solve the problem. So here’s the
This issue has been posted again a few months ago and I am having the exact same issue. I could not see any resolution to this problem and the topic was closed. Since I am experiening the same issue with the google assistance giving nightmares to my children I have copied and pasted the original question re-opening the issue“I have programmed the ‘Goodnight Google’ command to turn my bedroom lights off, and to run some ambient background music until I fall asleep. That all sounds lovely, doesn’t it?I thought so, too. However since I bought my Sonos One to replace my Google Home, when the ambient music (chirping crickets in a field, for anyone interested) finishes an hour or two later, usually in the middle of REM sleep, the Google Assistant suddenly screams “I’m sorry, I don’t understand!”, waking me up in the middle of the night, only for me to go through the entire process again if I make the mistake of using the ‘Goodnight Google’ command. It might make sense if I had asked Google t
Hello Sonos Community!I just added two Sonos One SL surround speakers to my Sonos Arc. I’ve been using the Arc without surrounds for about 2 months prior. I don’t have a Sub.Before adding the surrounds the bass produced by the Arc was full, deep and balanced. I had my EQ bass setting on 5 and it sounded incredible. After adding the One SLs the bass sounds pretty bad. It now seems to be mostly in the deep lows and it sounds very unbalanced. Both me and my partner think the bass sounds muted and bad.I tried running the TruePlay calibration twice and I played with the EQ. Increasing the bass through the EQ increases the bass output in the very low spectrum but makes it sound worse overall. This happens both with music and with movies and with pretty much any source (stereo or Atmos).I’m kind of disappointed after investing in the surrounds and having a worse overall sound.Am I doing something wrong?
Edit- read else where about cleaning the microphone out and now it’s working! Hi, wonder if anyone can help because I’m going out of my mind with this. Trying to set up Trueplay on my new Sonos Five, only it won’t complete the tunning due to ‘excessive’ noise in the room even when it’s completely silent. No matter what I try ( I’ve even tried it with my clothes off! ) I get the same message asking me to reduce the noise. I even tried sticking close to the speaker but that doesn’t work either. Can anyone offer any advice ?
Q: "hey Google play BBC radio 4"G: "playing BBC radio 4 on tunein"Q: "hey Google what's this?"G: "you are listening to BBC radio 4 extra on tunein" this started happening about 2 months ago on all Sonos products I own, Beam and Ones. Can somebody at Sonos please fix the mapping mistake? BBC radio 4 extra is not BBC radio 4. the work around is to use your phone to select radio 4 not extra), then use voice control toQ: "hey google stop"and Q: "hey Google continue"it.
My Sonos system keeps frequently loose products. I have several units in my home, but several times a week my Sonos app have lost one or more of them. Also, the installation quite often fails. So very annoying, since it affects the availability of listening to music at home.I also own four Google Home speakers, they never once loose their system.
