There has been an ongoing construction in my house and the dust was so bad. I noticed my Era100 started showing this pattern inside and it concerns me. I think it might be dust build up. Anyone else has the same issue? How do i clean it up…?
Hi, everybodyI have a Livebox router (upnp) and the possibility to plug on it a usb key. Using VLC, It is possible to access through upnp services to the files of the usb key. How come this app on android has no night mode schedule. No Audio tuning on like ios device for android.Sadly didnt knew how garbage the support app is before buying this and its beyond me how they cant simple options which are available on cheap smart switches.
Hello all - I was hoping to use my new Era 100s as computer speakers, clearly I didn’t do enough research.I now understand how the system works - one line-in supports both speakers, the line-in connects to the other speaker wirelessly. This is the source of the delay problem as I understand it.What if, for the computer speaker use case, Sonos creates an option to use a line-in on each speaker - R/L from the computer. No wireless sync. Of course, I realize that wireless is the Sonos magic, but two use cases in one - computer and multi-room wireless audio, that would be true magic. Plus, Sonos, you get to sell one more line-in dongle. :)
I have the sonos distributed between two floors of the same house. The phone only sees the devices on the floor where I open the app.The desktop sonos app only sees the devices of that floor.I have been using Sonos for years and never seen this. How do I fix this tragedy?! technical:macOS, iPhone latest apps across any device same account on any device only one system All connected to the same network. The desktop is connected to wired and wireless same network. I don’t have any uncommon network setup
Sonos is displaying that SoundCloud has partial outage therefore not available on Sonos at the moment. Go to SounClouds help center and it says fully operational. I think it’s Sonos that has the issue.
I have a AV closet that houses my Denon receiver which is connected to my projector, AppleTV, and a Sonos Port. I also have 2 Sonos Amps. The Sonos Amps are connected to 2 different zones in my house that have in-ceiling speakers. The Port is connected to the Receiver which controls Sonos in my theater room which also has in-ceiling speakers. I would like to connect a turntable that is in my office to the in-ceiling speakers in my office and I would like to control this all via Sonos. Is this possible?
I have a Ray connected to my PC via optical cable. After a bit of initial hassle, I changed my source and everything worked. Then, for no reason I can see, it stopped working and now nothing I do can get it to work again. As I said, I’m connected to the Ray via optical output on a Realtek Digital Output. I can see audio playing on my device, I’ve replaced the optical cable and tried every combination of setup. I’ve now run out of ideas and had to go back to my £25 soundbar that’s sitting on top of the now useless Ray.I’ve also been through this article methodically and now I’ve run out of ideas. Can anyone help me?
Get wifi through the local cable provider.Suddenly I’m receiving obnoxious ads from my electric company on my SONOS speaker for their wifi!!!Is that even LEGAL?
I tried several times to have a wireless/wired SONOS network, but always ended up with crashing the network due to STP issues. Currently everything is wireless, but a couple of speakers are a little too distant, so I want to return to a wireless/wired setup. Due to the disruption it made to all network users in the past, I want to have a test setup that can be isolated and adjusted independently of the rest of my SONOS gear and powered off when I am not testing. What do I need to do to move a few SONOS speakers to a test network? I think I need to do this: separate VLAN separate WiFi Access Porttraffic isolation between main / test devices including broadcast packetsmove the iPhone from one VLAN to another running the SONOS controller app.But am also thinking that I need to deregister some SONOS devices to get them completely removed from the existing setup. In the past I had issues with missing speakers and SONOS trying to re-discover speakers that were at a different physical locatio
Hi, I’m a film maker in south east london who has been a starved of home cinema for too long and desperately needs your help! I wonder if you can help answer my questions or point me to the right threads. For a long time I had the original apple tv with optical audio out going through a little powered connecting box before going into the original (now defunct) Sonos white and grey Amp. There was always intermittent issues that we overcame much to the frustration of my wife! However I’ve just purchased a new Apple TV box which doesn’t have an optical out and feels like i need to get a new Amp to replace the old one which doesn’t work on the new Sonos app. Could you recommend in baby language what system components you think i need to get to play movies from a projector. I have pair of sonos speakers and the Sub. Do i just have to rely on hdmi for sound now? is that a major downgrade? do I need an amp? Thankyou in advance!
Once again the Sonos controller update on my Aple M.2 Mac mini/Ventura OS has caused the controller to lose access to the music library. The music library’s access location has not changed amd I’, cross as hell at the prospect of updating the iTunes library details for this witless controller. So I am playing my music to my Sonos 3 and 5 speakers by using Apple Airplay on my iPhone. Why the heck do I keep the Sonos Controller when all I want to do is play music library tracks on the speakers and the darn controller keeps on losing access after the far-too-common updates? Come on Sonos. It’s been months since the Apple M2 Mini and Ventura were releassed. Get your act together.I’m already using an Apple HomePod speaker in a second home where Sonos controller updates on a MacBook Air M.1/Ventura kept losing access to the MacBook Air’s music library. The HomePod’s sound quality is as good as the Sonos 1’s I’ve previously been using. That means I’ll get another AirPod there for stereo acce
I’m doing a small audio project for a local gym. They have all of the equipment they need to play music during their workouts. The way they have it set up to play is they have a Sonos Connect connected directly to a speaker system. They use their Samsung Galaxy Android tablet to control the music to play using the Sonos app. The Sonos Connect is wired to the router that provides access to the internet for them. They use either Spotify or Apple Music as the source of the music. When the internet goes down or gets spotty, they can’t play music and if that happens during a workout, it’s a big problem. What I’m planning to suggest to them is that we get some sort of local source of music they can use as a backup. Something like an external drive that can be connected to the Sonos Connect directly with some MP3s on it. Of course they wouldn’t have a big variety of music on their backup system and they’d have to buy the music that goes there, which are two downsides. Is this a good (or maybe t
Came across several locked posts complaining about the pre-roll ads for TuneIn/Sonos Radio stations. I’ve been able to block the ads and have the radio station successfully play by blocking these two domains:*.prod-pre.fns.tunein.com*.chunks.tunein.comHope this helps someone.
Not sure where to begin. Moved recently to Mexico, but am armed services so have had my system work in many countries. 2 Moves, 4 Ones, 1 Five and 2 Threes. I ethernet wired a speaker to the modem/router (and this speaker I can’t connect for some reason). In the last few weeks, my system has been a constant maddening nightmare: every day a speaker or two drops, rejoining them takes multiple tries to connect, trying to connect a speaker a few feet from the modem says it can’t be found, etc. Not sure if it is relevant but have a few extenders throughout quarters and the signal is good throughout. On my S2 phone app, the system drops frequently. On my desktop app, the system can’t be found. I have one network. Not sure if this is relevant either but I originally set up the system my first day and since then had the modem replaced, although it has worked at times with this new modem. Do you good people recommend erasing the whole system and starting again? Not even sure how to do that. Or
Hi everyone , I do have a beam gen2 , 2 x Era 100 and sub mini and would like to change the Era100’s with 2 x Era 300I do like to listen to music sometimes and I feel like the Era100s are little low on my expectations.do you think that Era 300s would be a good choice considering to use them mainly as reers and in some cases to use them as stereo pair only for music and do you think I would notice the difference compared to ERA 100.shoud I really upgrade ? appreciate your answers for this
I’ve been using Sonos over 10 years now and i’m wondering if it by now isn’t time to update the volume control sliders. Especially on a phone they are pretty inaccurate to work with.I hardly exceed 20 and when i want fine grained control it is really hard and oftentimes the volume jumps a few numbers when i release my finger.Have a look at the “volume” controls of Philips Hue app for example. It’s a breeze to set the “volume” of the lights. Both individually as well as in a group. Would really love to see this improvement in the Sonos apps as well. Hope some Sonos Product Owner can step in and provide a reply.Looking forward to that one.Kind regards,Richard
Living room with arc sub 2 sl’s, office with an era 300. Era 300 disappears from iPhone app. Have restarted router and speakers, still happens. Switch off iPhone and switch it on again makes it come back. Is odd, am currently restarting my iPhone multiple times a day just to get the era 300 to appear in the Sonos app
Hello, I have sonos arc bass and 2 ones , perfect 5.1 .i have recently sorted atmos via the arcana but to be honest can’t see any difference (hear)my arc is below the tv and sticks out so the sound can travel upwardswhats the best settings on the app please maybe I’ve got those wrong?cheers jon
I recently just purchased the Beam Gen2, and my current setup is a projector screen in my basement. I’m trying to avoid having to run wires behind my wall, so I’m wondering if the placement of the Beam is crucial for the sound?Im considering mounting it above the screen, just below the rafters, as this would make this an easier project by being able to run wires through the rafters. I purchased the Sonos mount, so this wouldn’t allow me to angle it downward. What should I do?
great, so soundcloud is foobarred, it is stuck in a reauthorisation loop, even if you remove and readd, same message to reauth, tried PC and iPhone
Hopefully other Telus Wifi users will find this post helpful and maybe share my pain. Telus upgraded my router to the white Arcadyan router that looks like a trashcan. The router’s performance is good, but Sonos is unstable, especially when trying to Airplay content to the speakers. I understood that Sonos speakers use the 2.4GHz to play media content, but they also use the 5GHz band for operational tasks (inter-speaker communications). When logged into my router’s management GUI I can see the speakers are connected to my Wifi network. However, what I didn’t realize, and thankfully what a Sonos support call confirmed, was that the speakers were locked to the 5GHz network. When I reconnected my speakers to the new Telus network they initially connected to the network on the 5GHz band. The Arcadyan router broadcasts the same network name for both frequency bands, and it decides which device is assigned to which network band (2.4 or 5GHz). You can turn off specific bands in the admin inte
Hey there, fellow tech enthusiasts!I recently got my hands on an Intel Evo laptop, and I'm absolutely loving it so far. However, I've been primarily using it for streaming music to my Sonos speakers, and I can't help but wonder if anyone else has noticed a significant difference in battery life when doing the same.My old laptop used to handle this task quite well without draining the battery too quickly, but with the Evo, I've noticed some variations. It's still much better than my previous non-Evo laptops, but I'm curious about your experiences.Have any of you been using an Intel Evo laptop for streaming music to your Sonos speakers, and have you noticed any noticeable differences in battery life compared to other tasks or laptops you've used before?I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences. It could be helpful for others considering an Intel Evo laptop for similar purposes or looking to optimize their setup.Looking forward to your insights and tips! Moderator note: This may be a
It seems that a lot of Arc customers have problems with the Arc when you play Dolby Atmos contents. I am one of those.I have tried all the twerks suggested by other customers in this Forum without success. I am aware that many had a replacement but in my case it was denied by the support team. They are aware of the problem but they told me that from the diagnostic that I’ve sent the soundbar doesn’t have any software/hardware problem.I was going to buy a couple of new Era 300 as Dolby Atmos surround compatible, but now I’m not that sure anymore considering the clicks and pops during the show or worse when it stops playing.I’ve been very happy with Sonos through the years, but now I’m not that impressed. Is there anyone with new twerks to try or how can I get a working Arc with Dolby Atmos? Thanks anyway
We are wiring a new home with Sonos ceiling speakers in each room powered by Sonos Amps. We would like to have in the wall rotary volume knobs to control the volume for each Room/Amp. We have used Sonos products since Gen 1, this is our first whole home speaker setup and my wife prefers to control the volume from a wall switch than going to the app each time. Thanks For Your Help & Have Great Day !
