FYI POSTMy iPhone wouldn’t connect to my Sonos systemI went to settings and enabled the local network setting and it started working.
Had this Sonos System for about 6 years now. Every year it cuts out more and more! I phoned into Sonos support about 3 weeks ago to get this rectified. The guy put me on a hold time after time until the ‘cutting-out’ seemed to be fixed. For the last 3 days it’s been cutting-out constantly. Today I went to Sonos Support online. I chose to ‘chat online…..naturally I get a darn bot (a machine) I ask over and over for an agent, a representative, a real person...all this machine says ‘How can I help you’ over and over. I’ll phone them today. The Point Is…….I plan on buying a new system soon and it sure as hell won’t be a Sonos!!!!!!!!!
With the latest update from Sonos, the controller update fails.I have read the other threads on this topic with the latest one being 7 months old, so I am raising again hoping the more Sonos sees/hears this topic in the public community, the more likely they will be to find a true fix to the issue. One thread (older) said that if using a shared library, you’d have to wait for a proper fix; all others state to delete the app, download latest version from Sonos and reinstall. This is a “jinky” “fix”. Running MacOS Ventura 13.4.1 and SONOS controller version 15.5 and latest Sonos update (from 25-Jul-2023) fails - see screenshot. I have had so many problems with Sonos I have considered just abandoning the product, selling the speakers off. Their answer is always it’s the network and ip addresses. I’m using a solid fiber network to the house and for the WiFi router I have assigned static IP addresses to my Sonos product, disabled my 5gHz WiFi to ensure all are running consistently on the
Hi, all, I’m thinking of getting a Sonos Arc and connect it to an AV-Receiver (still exploring options like: Pioneer, Yamaha, Denon, Onkyo), but what it boils downto is this:I’m using the smart TV app for watching TV, e.g. Netflix, and the question is: If I connect the TV eArc port to one of the configurable AVR inputs (HDMI 2.1), and eArc output from the AVR to the Sonos Arc: is the sound quality preserved, or does it deteriorate in a sense, that I only get out the 5.1 surround (I don’t know if the HDMI 2.1 input ports on AVRs support eArc - is Dolby Atmos quality preserved?).Maybe the question is a bit silly, just exploring options here...
The HDMI cable will not stay in the sonos ARC. Anyone else find a solution?
Hi, going to buy a Sub (Gen 3 ) to go with my Beam (v1) - any suggestions RE: rear room speakers ?
Controlling volume on my Arc from my Amazon remote is often spotty, sometimes no reception. I usually have to turn the remote upside down to get reception. I have changed the batteries and re-paired often. Re-pairing seems to help but only a short time (only a few hours) before reception degrades again. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Any fixes?
I understand the line-in feature (on some Sonos products) has latency and is not intended for live music or as a PA system. I further understand the latency is necessary for perfectly synchronized multi-room audio from a potential variety of sources (which Sonos does better than anyone else). With that understood, has anyone tried hosting a house party where there is a live band or DJ (e.g. playing holiday music) using an appropriate non-Sonos PA system, and in an area (for “enjoying the band/DJ”) that is separated from Sonos speakers (except one with line-in and zero output volume). Then the Sonos devices “throughout the house” are rebroadcasting the live audio (albeit delayed) as “background” music. … If you have tried a set-up like this, did it work well? How was the sound? What did you use to bridge the band/DJ’s output to the Sonos line-in?
Septembet 15 2023 BBC sounds has just stopped working on Sonos 2 system. Asked me to reauthorise which I did and the BBC app seemed to think it had connected / authorised fine. "Go back to your sonos app"Sonos still says I need to reauthorise; did it again same result. Tried deleting the BBC SOUNDS from sonos and started from scratch. Same problem…Anyone else experiencing this ? Any advice gratefully received.Naunton
I see this problem has been reported for over a year and no fixes still. I can’t even listen to Atmos music on my appletv or use it to play atmos movies because of the super loud pop and shutdown. This has been a know issue since back in 2021. I read no fixes at all on the forum. Just tried to listen to a new Atmos Remastered album and it sounded like my Arc blow up then shut down. On top of that I’ve never heard a single sound come out of the top firing speakers on it using atmos on any other app that plays atmos. At this point I’m unsure if the Arc even plays atmos content at all.
Ive had my arc for a few months now. Today I was playing xbox and a sudden loud pop happened then my audio left. The sound eventually returned. I'm considered about any speaker damage or electrical damage.
I’m still getting this issue if my Apple TV is set to Dolby Vision, which is confusing since the Arc goes through my Sony TV & not my Apple TV box? Looks like it’s been an issue for a while? Come on Sonos can you sort it oot? (As they say in Scotland😃)
My Sonos Beam (Gen 2) frequently makes a loud pop sound and then loses audio and restarts when playing Atmos content. My connected equipment is an AppleTV 4K (2022) and an LG OLED C2. All equipment has the latest firmware updates. Disabling Atmos does not seam like a reasonable fix since Atmos sounds is an advertised purpose of the Beam (Gen 2) and why I upgraded. Are there any things to try to resolve the issue?
I’ve been enjoying my Sonos Arc and Sub with Xbox Series X for 28 months with awesome sound and no issues. This month, I upgraded to a new TV that supports Atmos, and added a pair of Era surrounds. Since enabling that, I hear frequent (daily) loud pops from my Arc. This happens while playing Atmos games; it hasn’t occurred while using streaming apps. After each pop, all audio is lost. Normal sound is restored after restarting the Xbox Series X and TV.Is this causing or risking damage to my equipment? How can I prevent this while still enjoying Atmos sound?
I have been waiting since August - 4 months - for Level 3 support to resolve an issue with setting up Sirius on my Sonos account. I call Customer Service each month and told there is no one to talk to and I need to wait to hear from Level 3 support.Does anyone have a suggestion for how to get support from Sonos?
I have a Sonos Arc and two Sonos Era 100s. I recently set up the Arc soundbar. I set my 60” Pioneer KURO plasma digital output to Dolby Digital. I am only getting stereo PCM on the Sonos Arc/app. Shouldn’t it be showing Dolby Digital?Help!!!
More hate then love at this point… I find it really unreliable and inconsistent. It gives me different results every time I run it. And even different results with different devices (I have an iPhone 12, an old iPhone 6s and an iPad).I have the beam 2, sub mini and ones as rears. With 4 speakers and Atmos audio some kind of calibration is really needed. More speakers = more things that can go wrong with timing and eq issues. The goal of Trueplay is to neutralise the influence of the room and give you the most standard sound. But what standard are we talking about if every time is different? How can it be trusted? After doing Trueplay I use some sound tests to check what’s happened and more often then not some further adjustment is needed. And it’s also buggy: why rears speaker distance is set to maximum distance while it’s not true? It introduces audible delay that you can notice with an appropriate test.I’m thinking of ditching it totally, and I would do it if manual control would be mor
Previous setup:Arc + Sub (Gen 3) + Play:5s Room dimensions and layout:20’ long x 13’ wide with an 8’ tall ceilingThe Arc is located on the 13’ wall on a 2’ tall media console. The surround speakers are placed on speaker stands in the corners of the opposite wall on each side of the sofa angled towards my main listening position. My main listening position is a giant Jaxx Saxx (bean bag) in the center of the room about 8’–9’ from the Arc and 8’–9’ from the surround speakers. I can hear the height channel audio from the Arc loud and clear from this listening position. What I watch/listen to:I listen to A LOT of music in Dolby Atmos and 5.1 on both physical media (Blu-ray, DVD-A) and streaming (Apple TV 4K). I also watch a lot of films in Dolby Atmos and 5.1 on Blu-ray and streaming. I own multiple Dolby Atmos and DTS demo discs on Blu-ray to test with. Play:5s as surrounds:I have been using a pair of Play:5s as surrounds with my Arc + Sub setup for the last 8 months and have loved it. Ma
I recently purchased an Epson LS800 projector and looking to pair it with the Sonos Arc Soundbar. What is the best way to connect it.
I am considering buying a pair of the 5 speakers. I have not totally wrapped my head around the usage on a day-to-day basis. I think the Sonos app is used to set stuff up, like EQ, but from then on you just use the iOS app of choice - e.g. Music, Sonos, whatever. You basically forget the Sonos app until something changes. My concern is the wife having to do anything more than firing up Music and playing.
Is Sonos ever going to get their Boost to work with Mac’s Ventura? If not just say so and too bad deal with it! This has been going for like year now. Is this Sonos just trying to get me to buy newer HW like HP did?
I accidentally put a thumbs down on my FAVORITE SONG. How do I find it to put in back into my Pandora station's playlist??
My sub and amp say in the amp they are connected to the arc in my “Living Room” but now sound comes out of the rear speakers connected to the amp or the sub. I have to unplug the arc and re-add everything every time to get them to work together. Once I reconnect everything it works fine until the next morning?
I’ve gone through “Let’s fix it” countless times. It says it can’t find the network. The cell phone and Sonos are on the same network, but it always says they are not and wants me to “fix it”, but that sequence of steps doesn’t work. However, If I unpower the S3 speakers and plug them back in, the S2 app on my Samsung works until I’m no longer using the app. It would be helpful if the app said what network it thinks Sonos is on. How can that be checked (it’s not in the app details). I have three laptops that see the network just fine same as my cell. I do have another network, but so what? What do I have to do to get the app to work consistently? Please consider fixing the app so the Sonos network can be entered manually without going through “fix it”.
Thanks to my other post, I learned that two components can used with a stereo pair of 300s, one inserted into each Era 300. however, how can I preserve CD quality sound being sent to the era? I’m assuming that RCA cables would not do so, nor would, a 3.5 line out. What about using an audio extractor inserted into the Era—one with HDMI or a digital coax port? Hs anyone done this? Side note: I’d love a recommendation on an inexpensive CD player. The goal is to have a little “legacy station” (play CDs and vinyl) next to my Era 300s.
