My sonos amp only has 2 of the 4 speakers working. I cannot find anywhere to view the speakers if there is that facility. I have turned it all off and wifi then rebooted and plug in speakers again and that has not worked.
I notice the volume level is significantly lower when playing music via Spotify on my phone or via the Spotify integrated in the Sonos app. Is that normal? I installed the Spotify app on my Google Streamer and the music level is much better with that and mirrors the TVs reference level. Is there a setting I am missing? I don’t have a volume limit and even use lossless. Please advise.
Hi All - I think I posted this originally in the wrong forum! Can anyone help with this though its not strictly related to Sonos issues?I have an old Buffalo Linkstation Duo that registered a disc failure so I replaced the disc and the other one failed. So I replaced that one and within a few days it registered a failure on the first brand new one!Im assuming that is a power issue or a fault with the chassis rather than the discs as they are brand new.So my question is if I kept the discs (assuming they are fine which they should be as they are brand new) and just switched them into a replacement chassis - an identical one ie a Buffallo Linkstation Duo - is it as simple as that?Would my PC and everything simply pick up the NAS drive as usual? Or is it more complex than that?Any help much appreciated.
I have a 1st gen sonos bridge and need to replace lost power supply (DC 5V 2A). I have an adjustable power supply with different adapters/plug so the right one fits the bridge. When mounting the adapter I must choose wether the center should be positive or negative. Do any of you know which is correct?
I’ve just setup my arc ultra,2x era300 subwhen I go to YouTube to do a 5.1 surround sound test. Nothing is hear out of the rear era300what am I missing ty
Good Evening,I hope someone can advise. I have 2 x play 3 speakers and 2 x play 1 speakers. All were working perfectly . There was a recent software update and the play 1’s are fine. Since the update both my play 3 speakers are popping and crackling randomly at any volume and are very distorted. I have tried them separately and as a stereo pair. I have turned the bass and treble down and turned the loudness off. I have done a factory reset twice but to no avail. I have raised a case with Sonos diagnostics and they have said that it is a hardware fault if I have done a factory reset and it has not rectified the problem. I said that it is very strange that both speakers have failed at the very same moment in time with a hardware failure and he agreed but said that is what it is and offered the 15% upgrade. Any advice suggestions would be much appreciated. I love the speakers and don’t want to throw them away and buy new. Thanks
Hi,I’ve bought my wife two of the Era 100s to add to my old (basically unused) Sonos system (4xV2 devices) so that we can use Bluetooth to enjoy music (bypassing the Sonos app). However, I can’t add them, the update fails with error 30 (as in this question). The speaker is sat on my desk, metres away from the router. There is only a USB cable, so wiring in is not possible without an adaptor. There is also no option to submit anything as per advice in that post, only to “Try again”.I have attempted factory resets, running the setup with and without the microphone (which I’d far rather didn’t exist), but it fails at the same point whatever I do. Since I bought two of these, I’ve tried both and it’s the same deal. I have a network firewall, so I can see that my phone successfully contacts `update.sonos.com`, but nothing from the devices themselves, and I’ve also tried fully disabling the firewall during the update, but no change.I also tried updating via the Windows app; that fails in the
Hi Sonos Community,I recently bought a pair of Era 100s to use as surrounds to my Sonos Ray soundbar.Long story short the Era 100s immediately lose the connection when I add them as surrounds to my Ray, even though the Sonos app gives me a confirmation that it’s all set up.After trying all the troubleshooting steps I reached out to Sonos support and they told me that this is a known issue caused by my Vodafone Ultra Hub router, and the only solution is to hardwire them together in order to work as surrounds, there is no wireless workaround / solution. It’s pretty disappointing that I cannot use half of these speakers functionality due to this incompatibility, especially that my router is not specifically listed as incompatible by Sonos.Anyone else experienced this issue? Any suggestions I can try? Maybe a new router to create a separate network for these speakers..Any advice would be appreciated :)
I hope someone can help with advice. There is no sound coming out of the mid right speaker.Ive tried with an aux input to make sure it wasnt a wireless issue etc. I checked and all the driver chips are getting the correct voltage on pin 14.Ive tested the speaker seperatly and its good. All components in that area seem to check out, any advice would be appreciated.
I’ve talked to support several times about this issue but I cannot get my Eras to work properly with the Beam. I cannot get 5 seconds without a drop. They hung up on me with it not resolved. Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
e.g. If I search, say, for Pinnock (he’s an “artist”) I can’’t ever get to a list of Trevor Pinnock albums on Amazon Music that I can access in Sonos, I get a “Search returned no results...”) message. Any thoughts appreciated!
Dear Sonos team,I love my 7 of my 9 Sonos speakers. Please help me love my Era 300s.I recently upgraded my surround setup with the Arc ultra and two Era 300s. I did this for two reasons:1 I wanted a better home cinema experience with Dolby Atmos. This is working great. 2 I wanted a better music listening experience. This was what convinced my wife that we should get the era 300s, and she is less than happy (I am sad also). The Era 300s are marketed as premium surround speakers, but when setup as surrounds their main driver is turned off. This would make perfect sense if you could seamlessly switch to a stereo pair for music with the main driver on. Unfortunately, you have to completely reconfigure and re-Trueplay the system to switch between music or watching a movie. Please please Sonos team, could you answers the following questions:1 Will it be possible (with a future update) to save two different configurations including the Trueplay information so that we can seamlessly switch bet
Good evening.I wanted to ask if it's worth changing my music player. Here are my setup details:Denon RCD M40 connected to Sonos Port. Sonos Port sends audio to:Sonos Beam 2 + Sonos Sub Mini + 2 Sonos One + Marshall Stanmore 2.I want to replace the Denon RCD M40 with a Denon DCD900.Will the sound quality improve?I've heard that Sonos Port limits the quality by digitally re-recording the audio and that it's not worth it.Can you give me any information?Thank you very much!
I’m looking for advice from others running larger Sonos systems about network topology. I’m trying to decide whether to simplify my network design or move away from my current mesh-style approach. Sonos system (all Gen 2): 4 × Sonos Port 8 × Sonos Connect:Amp (Gen 2) All sources are streaming (no local library) Used for whole-home audio across multiple zones Network hardware (current / planned): Main router (planned): ASUS RT-BE86U (Wi-Fi 7) Additional routers available: ASUS RT-AC5300 and RT-AC86U Previously used node/extender: RP-AX58 (likely removing) All router/AP locations can be hard-wired back to a central switch Current symptoms: Intermittent Sonos issues (grouping drops, control lag) iPhone frequently shows “connected to Wi-Fi but no internet”, especially when roaming between ASUS AiMesh nodes Other devices on the same node continue working when this happens Issues seem correlated with roaming / node transitions, not a single AP What I’m trying to decide: Stay with ASUS but
Well this is the case since the “ wonderfull” app update the worst ever seen, it happens on all devices iphone, ipad, mac . If you change radio station to other station the app show the new station logo in the app, but it still plays the previous station. So station looks like it changed in the app but the actual stream did not. You need to stop the station and start it again the get the right stream playing. This is a software error ! Again I have seen other remarks on the forum all closed so it looks it solved. IT IS NOT ! Sonos do fix it !!!!!! As customers we have already been confronted with enough amateur software to last a decade…… So do not come to me on Wifi settings and blame it on someone else. Maybe ask CHAT-GPT to fix it for you ?
Hi All,has any one had a similar experience? My ethernet lan and wifi has been “untouched” (no new clients added - except occasional cell phone upgrade) and working fine for 6 years with no new clients etc added - I have 13 sonos units, 8 unifi wifi aps, 10 managed switches and 180combined network clients. It was working fine (ethernet lan and WiFi) for 6 years then early december 2025 it went crazy with multiple clients constantly appearing and then disappearing off the network, clients unable to connect with each other and the internet. Nothing worked. As a precaution I replaced the old router (10 years old) and unifi wifi controller (8 years old) but still no improvement, then disconnected individual switches and wifi aps to test if they were the cause - they werent. DNS settings were checked as well. in summary, only when all 13 sonos units with powered down and disconnected from the lan / wifi did the network behave itself - literally the minute i unplugged the last sonos unit eve
Product: Sonos System / Home TheaterSummary:Introduce an option to automatically ungroup non-TV rooms when HDMI-ARC TV audio becomes active, while preserving grouping behavior for music playback.Problem Description:In mixed-use households, Sonos room groupings persist across sources. When users group multiple rooms for music playback (e.g., Spotify) and later switch to TV audio via HDMI-ARC, the TV audio continues to play across all previously grouped rooms. This is often undesirable, particularly when TV audio should remain localized. There is currently no way to define source-specific grouping behavior or automatically revert to a neutral (ungrouped) state after a music session.Example Scenario: Living Room (Sonos Amp via HDMI-ARC) Kitchen (Sonos speaker) User groups both rooms to play music Music playback stops TV is turned on TV audio plays in both rooms unintentionally Proposed Solution (Options):Provide one or more of the following system-level options: HDMI-ARC Isolatio
I am done with Sonos. Interface is cumbersome, speakers drop off my app, I can’t easily start and stop music, every time I use Sonos app, I have to go through the settings to r-establish connections. What other brands are people switching to? Bose etc. ?
I want to stream my husband’s music library (ripped CDs) to our Sonos Ray. I do not want the PC on all the time. I don’t want it in the cloud. I tried the USB flash drive but apparently misread my router capabilities. I would like a good basic NAS that will stream a minimum of 28 GB of music to the Sonos Ray. It must be turn key. I have someone who will help me with set up if I run into difficulties, but I do not have the knowledge to build my own. And I don’t have the patience to learn. I was looking at the Synology Beestation but am seeing indications that it’s not a “true” NAS and might not be what I need. Looking at a Linkstation but truly was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a good basic NAS for this purpose. Many thanks.
I am currently renovating my whole house. I currently have Arc and Sub, i will be adding also x2 Era 300. Also want to add ceiling speakers too. Will also be adding outside speakers too. Here is what i am planning:
I wanted to share this in case someone else runs into the same frustrating issue I did: TV: TCL P7K QLED Google TV (2025 model) Soundbar: Sonos Playbar (2015) Connection: Optical cable (no HDMI ARC) Remote: TCL stock remote (IR + Bluetooth hybrid) 🧨 The Problem:The Sonos S1 app wouldn’t complete remote pairing. Sometimes it would recognize the first Volume + press, sometimes not. If it did, it would fail on Volume - and say “volume control with optical is not supported” (which is nonsense — Playbar is designed for IR+optical). Disabling HDMI-CEC on the TV didn’t help. IR confirmed working via phone camera. Bluetooth turned off didn’t work. Factory reset on the bar made no difference. Universal remote wouldn't pair either (even though it had worked with the Playbar before). ✅ What Finally Worked:After all else failed, we just started mashing the requested buttons repeatedly during setup like we were speed-running a boss fight in a video game.Literally just kept pressing V
Hi Ive just reset my Sonos playbase and play 1 surrounds as they disappeared out of the S2 app when I changed the sonosnet wifi channel. Unfortunately now it’s reset and working again the same remote which worked fine before the reset is not being picked up by the latest iOS Sonos app. I have a Hisense 55U7A. It’s an IR only remote no Bluetooth. Just tried a universal remote and still have the same issue. Edit just tried the android app as well and amazingly this DOES pick up the Hisense remote. So this bug is specific to the iOS app and unfortunately hasn’t been tested by their developers. Thank god we have an android phone in the house as well. Not great Sonos!
Hi all I have just installed a Beam gen 2. I have set my LG tv to allow Dolby Atmos via eArc and I can see from the app that my Beam has a Dolby Atmos input. When I listen to Dolby Atmos content though I can’t seem to hear much difference to be honest. I have also tried Spatial Audio on Apple Music and again can’t really determine any difference. I maybe expecting too much and it’s early days but I am wondering if my Beam may be faulty. Has anybody got any experience of this?
I own a Sonos Arc Ultra and two Era 300 speakers. I would like to use the Arc Ultra together with the two Era 300s as a home theater setup, but also be able to quickly use the two Era 300s independently as a stereo pair.In my experience, the sound quality of the two Era 300s in pure stereo without the Arc ultra is significantly better for music listening than when all speakers are combined in a home theater setup. Unfortunately, switching between these two use cases is currently not quick or convenient. I would strongly appreciate a feature that allows multiple setup presets to be saved and switched between. Ideally, these presets would retain their individual Trueplay tuning settings. For example: When I want to watch a movie, I select a “Home Theater” preset, where the Arc Ultra and the two Era 300s play together. When I want to listen to music the next day, I select a “Stereo Music” preset, where the Era 300s automatically disconnect from the home theater setup and operate as a ster
