I'm reluctantly on 80.01.11 and just wondering from those who have updated if 80.01.30 is helping or hurting, is it doing something or nothing?
Where is the dual mono option on the new S2 App?
Following the breach of trust with customers that the recent update makes clear, I am wondering how to fnd another way to play music in my house. The Sonos hardware I use is fine - how can I find another, non-Sonos way to push music to them from a local HDD library or NAS without letting Sonos software into the equation? This may be a dumb question - I’m twenty years behind on wifi tech - but I’ve pretty much had it with Sonos. Any suggestions?
Ik kan naar mijn radio station niet meer luisteren
I’d just like to remind Sonos management that the problem with the new app release is not just performance and reliability…..the new UI is very difficult to navigate. How hard is to make an app that you just click on the app and then click on the music you want to listen to without menus, scrolling, swipes and navigation that is not intuitive? It’s been almost 20 years since I started using Sonos and it just keeps getting worse and worse.
I have gone through the adding process and named the room; but the new device is "not registered".I see on my iPad under Settings when I try to register it: Incompatible Software VersionsThe version of the app you're using isn't compatible with your Sonos system, so some settings have been disabled.I have done every update I can find, but to no effect. And now on my system I getWe need to get Sonos running on the latest software.Choose Check for Updates to get started. So I do, and it says I am up to date; but I cannot get past that window.
Sonos Radio is in an authorization loop; the new app is unable to successfully authorize access to the channel. My older desktop Mac OS app which I DID NOT update works fine. Do not update all resources or you will need to wait for a fix to this issue. RE: Sonos Mgmt, please consider that we are paying a monthly fee to have no access to service
I have a Sony XR-65X90CJ, Playbar/5.1 setup, Xfinity X1 cable box with the XR15 V2 UQ remote. Hang with me while I lay this out!The cable box recently died and needed to be swapped. Prior to that everything was behaving it seemed. When i set up the new box and remote, I noticed an old problem had returned. The volume control on the remote is topped out at 100 and is hardly loud enough (the TV is set to audio system output, optical cable output is fixed on this TV). When I had this issue years ago with an earlier Sony TV, I discovered that the Sonus app had the volume set very low and sliding it up allowed more relative volume. But it was a constant problem which I seem to recall was fixed by setting the OLD Sony TV’s optical output to fixed… but as noted, this newer TV already has a static setting to fixed optical output. But i went to the Sonus IOS app (which frankly, once that initial problem was solved, I hadn’t looked at for perhaps years). Log in…. Can’t find my syste
Please just tell me when the new updated Sonos will be able to play my extensive iTunes library; the whole reason I invested in Sonia in the first place!!
Since the ‘new app’ was released, I’ve been unable to reindex my music library - option no longer there. There have been at least 2 updates of this new app, and still it’s not back. C’mon Sonos. You are supposed to be cutting edge.
Hi,After upgrading to the latest app (android), I can't see whether trueplay is enabled or not. Before there was an option to turn trueplay on or off, can't find that anymore? From what I can see it might look trueplay settings were turned off after the update. For the info, I do not have an Iphone, so I can't just recalibrate. Best regardsTommy
Recently purchased a 3rd Sonos Move unit from Costco. The other two seem to work ok, but this new one (trying to create a new Sonos setup at a different location) is not connecting to the Sonos App, nor does pressing the Blue tooth Button do anything. We were going to simply use it with Blue Tooth, but pressing the button has no impact on the unit. I have tried performing a factory reset. Still does not work with either Blue Tooth or the Sonos App. Do I return it to Costco or Sonos? Who will address the issue?
Though the new update is pretty and colorful, it is very clunky and not very intuitive. I used to go into apple music and choose an album from a musical groups whole catalogue. Since the update, I am limited in my album choices. Sonos favorites has a list of things I have never listened to.Quit advertising to me. on the app, please. My Playlist, Artists, Albums all have items I have never listened to and would never ever listen to. Whats up with that?I called Santa Barbara at 8:30 AM Pacific time to speak with someone. Called yesterday in the afternoon too….same response. 60 minute wait..Some customer service.Did you guys consider running a Beta test on this update before you thrust it on your customers? Maybe ask the sonos community to look at it and offer feedback? Is the old interface available? I want to delete this new one and go back to the old app. Robert
I hadn’t been able to connect to my system with the iOS app except randomly (Mac controller was working) since the new app came out. After several failed “help” calls, the rep today confirmed that:they broke the boost with new app their engineers are working on it the solution will come out…in the futureThe temporary workaround:Disconnect the boost from the router Unplug it from the power supply (yes, even though it’s not connected) Make a direct Ethernet connection to one of your speakers from the router (this might be painful depending on your setup)…I used my sound bar Power off all your speakers aside from the one in (3) for ten seconds Then power them back on Hopefully your system is available in the app controller after they bootA little disappointed I didn’t try removing the boost on my own, but in my defense, my system had never worked without it. Anyway, I hope this saves at least one person the hour and a half call wait. Godspeed,
You used to be able to select multiple groups of speakers - for example, Upstairs and Downstairs, to play to all of the speakers in those groups. Now, it doesn't seem to allow for multi-select; you can only pick one.Is anyone else seeing this behavior with the iOS Sonos app? Trying to pin down if it's a bug with my system or a change to the app's behavior.I created a new group as a workaround, but that's not nearly as flexible as the old system.
Many users report that their Music Library has disappeared. The reason for this (in most cases) is probably due to the so-called SMBV1 file sharing protocol being removed. Many older systems use this protocol. File sharing is now via SMBV2/3Many older systems cannot be updated to use the new protocols. Users will need to purchase new file sharing devices. The reason for this change is based on security concerns where the smbv1 is regarded as a security risk. This is true in so far as a system has already been breached via another external route (there have been no recorded instances of a SMBv1 impacting Sonos systems in the last decade). Essentially, the change which has affected so many is another ill-founded and poorly implemented characteristic of the S2 wonder update. Never mind, you can now listen alone to your Arc soundbar by purchasing the new $500 headphones. It's not all bad!
I personally believe Sonos will never offer app fixes for those of us who spent thousands of dollars over the last 5-6 years and use speakers older than the Roam, Era and Move speakers currently for sale. It appears that Sonos’ only interest lies in supporting their new headphones, as well as current and future speakers. We are screwed….
Bonjour,Pourquoi lorsque l’on augmente ou diminue le son, nous n’avons plus un nombre qui augmente ou diminue.Pourquoi ne peut on plus régler le son avec le bouton de l’Iphone??? Cordialement
Did Sonos make a huge mistake?? Looks like they did. Selling my stock as well. What an epic mistake…. The customer can no longer simply add a song to the queue. Wtf.
With the latest 5/7 app update, does Spotify now have a 50 playlist maximum? I cannot display all of my playlists. I can search them but there is no way to browse all of my playlists anymore.
Hello all,I’m struggeling to get my Beam Gen1 reconnected wirelessly to my system and I’m at my wits end.Everything was working fine: I had my Beam connected to my TV, just added a Sub Gen3 and had a One and a One SL as surrounds.Suddenly one day my Beam, Sub and Ones have disappeared from the app. Other Sonos devices in my household continue to work fine. All 4 missing devices show the same behavior: the light is white and if I press the play button it flashes red and goes back to white. I’m focusing on the Beam for now because I assume they all disappeared together due to the surround setup.Things I tried at this stage:Rebooting the Beam by removing power: no change Rebooting my router: no change Remove power from Beam, rebooting router, turning on Beam: no changeI didn’t change any router settings in the last months. So I decided to factory reset the beam (which shows up correctly on my TV menu by the way, I can see the Sonos wallpaper if I switch to its HDMI source). Now things get in
System disappeared, had to reset and reload everything, still doesn’t work, spent hours. Despite being on the same network, restarted routers, amps, phones. Sonos Should roll back the updates. I don’t want to spend more hours messing with this. Considering other systems.
add music folderInput path: \\MacName\MusicFolderName I hope I can help someone in need!
Just updated to the new Sonos app and I know folks are having a lot of issues, but have folks noticed that within the “About my System” page, the “Audio in” option is blank even when audio is coming through? On the home page, when I select the window showing what is playing, it shows the type of audio (PCM 5.1, Dolby Atmos, etc.) so I know it is working, but any thought on what’s going on with the about my system page? also, on that same page, it is showing my Arc has “WM: Disconnected” even though it is physically connected via Ethernet and my sub and 2 Ones are connected via Sonos net. The arc did switch back to showing sonosnet randomly, but this seems odd. Never had any issues with the previous version as it was rock solid. It also showed WM:0 and then displaying the type of audio. anyone else have this issue?
Explicit content filter is not working on the new junky app. It’s turned on and the songs are tagged as explicit song. It’s awful as I have young kids.
