Troubleshoot, tune and get the most out of your system

I invested in a whole house system…SONOS touted it as a great wireless solution and I trusted them. A fortune in 9 speakers, sound bar, etc. But now their newer products have bumped my older system to the back of the line.Updates block my Sonos use for 1-3 days with great regularity Playlist titles no longer showing up for Apple Music (show up everywhere else). I have 17 lists so this is a problem. The system doesn’t seem to work well with so many speakers. When I disconnect several then there are no problems. Now I must use a single Bose wireless speaker beside my chair when I want to dependably listen to something! Sonos has been a HUGE waste of money…and causing lots of frustration.
I’ve got a five speaker system and ever since the new app update I’ve got two speakers that constantly groups themselves together. It’s always the same two speakers and the routine is: I separate them, as long as one speaker is used they stays separated, but as soon the speakers are in idle for a while they become grouped after a while.
Of you're like me and despise the Sonos app and the inability to use apps like you tube (well technically any app since the Sonos app only works 1 out 20 times). I've found this app called Air Music, that allows you to cast audio to your Sonos speakers using any music service or app/player/webpage that produces audio for Android, it's basically the closest thing to Apple Airplay that if found. I can just launch you tube or spotify or my local file player and cast the audio without having the headaches of being forced to you use Sonos beyond terrible interface, highly recommend it, it's been total ges changer for me and actually makes Sonos products useable. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.airmusic.trial
I used to think that the desktop version of the Sonos app was not very exciting and could use some work. But since this new app disaster I have come to cherish it and I kiss the feet of the engineers who decided not to do much to it.A case in point: I used to add web-based radio stations using the "manage"drop-down menu and those stations would be added to the My Radio Station section of TuneIn and could then be added to Sonos Favorites.Comes the new Android and IOS versions of the app and TuneIn is gone to be replaced by TuneIn (new) and that does not have a My radio Station section. But guess what … the desktop version (at least the Apple version) still lets you add the old TuneIn service ...the one with the "My Radio Stations"section. You can use the service from the desktop app, but those stations are greyed out and cannot be played on the Android and IOS versions.Had it not been for the desktop version I would have seriously considered throwing the whole thing out of the window...
Trying to add a new speaker to an existing Sonos system doesn’t work with the new Sonos controller on iOS.There is a way to workaround this.Firstly, in the controller try to add the new speaker as usual. You will get so far and the app will keep crashing. You’re probably getting an error like this: Secondly, you need to go into the controller app and choose to transfer ownership of the system (settings/manage/transfer system ownership), putting in your account as both old and new owners. All speakers including the one that you tried to add unsuccessfully will now transfer to your account and work perfectly.
When will the Alphabeat be back in my library, so I don’t have to scrolle all the way down. I have 500 artists
I have been reading all the messages about access to computer music libraries and nothing seems to be happening. Sonos say they have updates to cure it but I still can't get my music library to show. Very frustrating and I feel cheated by Sonos. This can't be right. Selling a product then changing how it can be used. Supposed to be sorted in July August but it is September tomorrow and mine is still not working. It used to be a really good system. Error 913. So frustrating. Great improvement. I hope they don't improve it anymore.
The web app does not update if change is made to whats playing, the pause/play button is a white square! WEB app missing a lot functions, Music Library is not useful any longerDoes not match IOS choices.
The speakers won’t consistently play in a group - never an issue before - this is an app issue. The app won’t recognise any music in the speaker section. Have to totally shut down the app and the phone and have a hard reboot to have any chance however slim of it working. I will not be purchasing any more Sonos products until the App is properly working.
So I just bought a sub mini for an upstairs room. Not only will it not connect to my wifi (every other room works fine) but it seems to believe that it’s the sub downstairs causing problems there. That sub works, but now doesn’t show on the app.So I’m returning the sub that was delivered this afternoon, and have to say that if Sonos can’t get something so simple to work, there can’t be much hope for its future - or at least I don’t hold any.Just to save bandwidth - it’s not a wifi problem; its a Sonos problem that’s destroying the brand.
The Sonos app doesn't work for me, since it's new and it hasn't let me connect for 2 days.
This SONOS update is a disaster! The dreaded (913) error prevails in all conditions especially in the error explanation which advises that the SMB1 protocol is no longer supported and the user should update to SMB2 or 3.Moreover, the same (913) error occurs when you have your music library located on your local C: drive or any other non-networked drive. Be it a USB external drive on your laptop or an additional hard drive inside your PC. The same of course applies to hosting your data on a NAS, which in my case is a fairly sophisticated 6 bay RAID 5 array, and for that matter my little 2Tb external USB2 drive. The new update I downloaded today, and installed on my workstation and (as a test, on my stand alone PC) immediately displayed the (913) error. I updated the SMB to v2 and again v3 with no effect. The folder shares are correctly configured and work flawlesly for other applications. I shared and configured a new folder in the same directory structure as the SONOS program which also
I just moved into a new home and it has 4 speakers. But, looks like it only has 1 set of these wires. Can I still connect them to Sonos Amp? Thank you
Every time i ask google assistant on sonos one (Gen 2) to play music it says apple music is not supported. How can i fix this? I am logged into apple music (with an active subscription) on both google and sonsos.
I’ve had a nightmarish experience with Sonos ever since the app debacle and I’m hoping someone is able to assist me getting a simple Arc Soundbar/Sub/Era 300 surround system up and running. I’ve attempted to hardwire all of them but the rear Era 300s simply REFUSE to connect via Ethernet. Granted, I already had two USB-C to Ethernet adapters from Insignia (Best Buy’s brand) on hand and I’ve been attempting to use those. Why spend an additional $80 on Sonos’ gear (for 2) if the underlying technology (USB-C to Ethernet) is brand agnostic?Unfortunately, my rear ERA 300s grab a WiFi connection--and the overall system is now mixing WiFi with Ethernet--and I’m not getting rear channel sound. Under my system settings, there’s no way to “Enable/Disable” WiFi on the rears so I’m forced to accept however the app sets it up. This is absolutely maddening. So here’s my question? Does the USB-C to Ethernet connector absolutely have to be Sonos? If so, how is USB-C to Ethernet proprietary? For referenc
After months of accepting sound cutting in my Sonos Beam 2 + Samsung Smart TV finally I found today solution by coincidence. I was digging into options and changed only one setting: All Settings/ Sound/ Expert Setting/ HDMI-eARC change to Auto and that’s all.
(My apologies. I am generally happy with the new app (ever since alarms were fixed).I know Sonos still works on much bigger app issues at the moment but there is a minor suggestion I would make. Whenever I start the app, I get the dreaded "No product found" message for a brief second and then the app loads fine. Given all the connectivity issues people are having while getting that message, my heart skips a bit every single time.Would it make sense to introduce a delay in the app before you show that message which definitely doesn't add to the positive Sonos experience.Thanks. Happy customer since 2008
There are preliminary signs that Spotify is (finally) bringing audiobooks to their Sonos integration. If you use the Desktop or third-party apps you can see a new category “Audiobooks for you”, but its empty at the moment. On the new mobile app it shows a small line saying “No content items available” where they will eventually show up.
I have my home theater setup downstairs and playbar and other play ones upstairs. I was wonder if the sub was placed next to the open stairs on first level if that would improve upstairs (everywhere settings) bass without out losing home theater quality. The sun would be place far right in the 20’ room with The beam and surrounds (center of tv) 10’ away. thank you.
Are you able to connect blue tooth capable hearing aids to the Sonos system? Arc Sound bar? Era 300’s or gen 3 sub woofer?
Since the last app update, whenever I have the app up on iphone and put it in the background, when I come back to it I’m greeted with “no products found” and it takes a few seconds to recognize the system again.
Anybody else still dealing with the issue of the volume slider not responding to touch input? Every time I adjust the volume inside the app it takes 3-4 attempts before the slider will acknowledge input and move to the desired level. I commented on a post about this issue a month ago and am curious how many other people still experience it.
I know that this has been a pretty hot topic when LG rolled out their major update. Been looking around on different chats and groups and it seems like there is no true fix on this issue. Unless i use LG’s native apps and forgo my appletv 4k. Has anyone else find any fixes to this issue? Thanks.
