I have successfully imported all of my iTunes playlists into Sonos. However, when I select an imported playlist to add to my queue, Sonos auto-resorts the songs by artist, not by album. I'd like to hear the songs by album, not artist. For example: I have an imported playlist called "Soundtracks - Top Rated". When I add this imported playlist to my Sonos queue, Sonos resorts all of the songs by artist, not by soundtrack. So the songs are mixed, regardless of the movie/play soundtrack. How do I sort the selected queue to play by album so I hear the full soundtrack as it was intended, not by artist? Thank you.
I am one of those few people who does get upset when I get the feeling my privacy is compromised by hard- or software firms, so after following a recent discussion on this forum (in which the person who expressed a concern was extremely badly treated by the community) I thought I would turn to Sonos directly with 3 very specific questions which follow: "My main issue/question is whether or not any record is kept of what music I listen to? I listen almost exclusively to my own music (not streaming services who obviously know what I am listening to) and that is what my question refers to. My second concern is how I can opt out of data collected about when and how long I use particular Sonos components. This provides you and whoever happens to hack you successfully with data about when I am at home which I would not want to share with anyone. Finally, your website shows how I can opt out of some data collection by going to the Advanced Settings on my iOS app and swi
I added an album to my itunes. I went to Sonos to update my music library. Afterwords, the album was not in Sonos. I restarted the system and updated the library. No new album. I deleted the music folder from my PC on my Sonos system and then readded it. Still no new album. There seems to be no way to get new music on Sonos. Very frustrating. I did a search for a few of the songs. They are not found within the Sonos system.
Hi! I saw that today Google has announced the launching of Google Home officially with Google Assistant in Spanish. Are there plans to bring Google Home to Spain?
Has. By one else noticed their phones battery draining after the latest App upgrade. Sonos has jumped to the top of my list showing app and battery usage. My phone has suffered significantly since the last upgrade and I’m having to quite the app as soon as I have interacted with the system in order to maintain battery for the day. Before this upgrade I never had any battery issues
I have several Sonos speakers. I always change the volume for certain speakers in the group for better stereo sound. Is there a way to setup group volume presets? Any one know of any 3rd party apps that might do this?
There's a number of Bluetooth Buttons on Amazon and I've tried several to control the Volume, Pause/Play, and FF but they only seem so control the Volume on my iPads/iPods. Does anyone know of a BT button that will work with Sonos?
I really feel stupid. I just got a Connect:AMP, and tried to adjust the balance between the 2 speakers. But I cannot find how to adjust the balance on the Connect:AMP or any of the Play speaker pairs. I thought it was under Settings / Room Settings. But I only see EQ, Room name, Speaker touch controls, speaker status lights. Cannot find balance on the PLAY boxes either. Running 8.2.1 on IOS and Android. Thanks in advance.
I am over this BS! Do you know what it is like to have to be FORCED to do an upgrade on 6 (SIX!) sonos systems every week? Its never ending! JUST MAKE IT HAPPEN OVERNIGHT! If you are going to shut down features to force your customers to upgrade, then you should make it happen in the background. I don't want to have to deal with this, It disrupts my day! I have 6 sonos systems, home and 5 offices between my husband and me. This update struggle is so annoying.
I use my Google Music library, but unlike on Google, where I can just view all songs from a genre, in Sonos I can only view each album from that genre, and then from there I can drill down further to see the one or two songs I have from that album, before backing out of the album, and going into each individual one to see the rest of the songs. It makes no sense, and makes it virtually impossible to create a queue or playlist by genre, unless you have an extreme amount of time and patience. Hint for Sonos if they decide to actually help on this issue (doubtful): Google also breaks it down by album, but the first "album" is actually just a "see all" folder, that shows every single song from that genre or artist. That way you can access all the songs together, without having to click in and out of every album.
When I search for an artist on Google Play and then go into the "My Library" section it only shows the albums. There is no option for showing all the tracks by the artist in the library. This is particularly frustrating when searching for an artist that appears on 1 or more multi-artist compilations. When you go into each compilation album it shows all of the tracks on the album (by other artists as well) and it is very difficult to find the track by the searched artist on the multi-artist compilation. Please add an "All" option that shows all of the tracks. The functionality should be the same as searching for an artist in the local (indexed) library. Currently I can't easily search for an artist on Google Play and add all of the tracks by that artist that are in my library. This should only take a few clicks. Please add the Google Play "Auto Playlists" as well. There is currently no way of playing the "Thumbs Up" playlist which is very frust
I have just board a second-hand WD100, because I want to use an old IPhone 4 as a controller /charger (that always is switched on) No I realize that my Sonos system won’t recognize the WD100. Searching google, and this forum, tells me just to add it as a Play 1 or a Bridge, but apparently none of those solutions are working anymore (properly due to a later sonos software update) Are there any way still to use my WD100? Heard something about that a sonos technician could help me downloading an old software version - e.g to my bridge, so I could update my WD100 (with no LAN cable connection) to the newest software. (this has already been reset to “factory settings” (Ending up going back to newest software on the bridge) Looking forward for an answer (And hope you understand my lousy English:P)
I have found there is no "history" link or button in Sonos. Although Sonos is fantastic and next to miraculous in so many respects, not having a way to replay a track or retrieve a search is a real shortcoming. Once a number has been played one must re-do the search for the track or the album all over again. Has anyone found a way around this. I would like to petition Sonos to provide a "history" feature.
Is there a way to password protect the room settings? I use Sonos in a shared space on a shared network and someone constantly fiddles with the EQ and loudness settings. I would love to be able to lock these with a pin or password.
This coupon rebate is the most poorly handled customer retention program I have ever witnessed. An email announcing the planned bricking of several hundred dollars of hardware purchased in good faith from the company. Great, thanks for the warning. Too bad you never asked my opinion or gave me the option of keeping it. Then you offer a single coupon for the 1 to N number of CR100s that I have. Not one coupon per device, no, just one. Although I did have to contact support to find this out. It wasn't communicated in the email announcement. So at this point, I was PO'd at this taking more time out of my day. But wait, here is a form to fill out. It requires all of my personal information (that I have in the account that I've had to create for some strange reason) and the individual product serial numbers. The completion of this step generates a third email that requires a verification of my email address, and that takes me to a screen that tells me the link as expired. Friday a fourth e
What about an option for maximum volume on startup? I often enjoy my Sonos at high volume. However, when using it the next time a neighbour-friendly volume level by default would be helpful.
Hi guys, I have 3 Play:1’s in my livingroom. Two of them were paired and also set up with trueplay for some time now. Today I bought an extra Play:1 to fill a part of the living room where the sounds was less intense. Obviously I can’t make a pair with three of them. But can I do trueplay on them so the sound of the three speakers join well together? How can I do this for all of them? Thanks in advance !! Vincent
I have a Play:5 in the kitchen, a Play:1 in the office and the 5.1 setup in the living room (Playbar, Sub and Play:3 satellites). I like to start the day playing radio at a specific volume on all zones, and depending on what I did the day before, I need to manually group zones and adjust volume for all zones, which is quite cumbersome. It would be great to save a preset that does this automatically and even starts playing the radio station I want, or playlist, or artist etc. It could also just be a preset that just adjust volume for some/all zones without affecting currently playing music. Or it could be stopping music on all zones that might not be grouped. On Android there's a 3rd party app called Macronos that enables something similar to what I want, but we need to have it better and on all controllers.
Sonos was recently modified to allow broadcasting via WIFI without a Bridge or Boost. This is a great option. I would suggest a further, related enhancement. In large homes it is common to have 2 or more access points to provide strong WIFI throughout the house. The current deployment of Sonos over WIFI works with multiple access points on the same subnet only if you use the same SSID for all access points. While there are some advantages to using the same SSID for "roaming" it is often found that many phones and laptops do not automatically switch to the stronger signal of the closest access point if they can still get a signal (albeit weak) from the further access point they originally connected to. To address this many of us use different SSIDs (still on same subnet) so users can manually connect to the stronger signal if desired when moving around the house. Unfortunately the current Sonos iphone software will not find you system if you ch
Hi. I know this is not possible as it is today, since Sonos doesn't have HDMI. But will it be possible with airplay 2 support or apple HomeKit? Today I have only streaming services and therefor my Apple TV is my only source. The remote is hooked nice and easy up with my Sonos 5.1 system. BUT a mayor missout for me, is the possibility to control the volume within the Apple TV app. My hope is, that with the arrival of airplay 2, Sonos sound can be controlled with Apple TV remote. It is the only missing link for a complete minimalistic setup.
I am led to believe iOS 11.4 will be released later today allowing Airplay 2 support; assuming Sonos will also release an update to allow this function soon?
I have a turntable plugged in to a Sonos Connect that's running a pair of bookshelf powered speakers. I love it because I can play the record throughout the whole house. The only thing that bothers me with this setup is that if I stream something to the speakers where the turntable is, and then try to play a record. I have to go to the Sonos app and change the input to line-in. I wish it would change automatically like it does on the playbar when you turn on the tv, but is does not. But I was checking out the Wrensilva console that Sonos is selling, and it has an input selector where you can manually change the input of the speaker between line-in and streaming as well as a volume knob. Is there a third party device that would give you this kind of functionality?... and while we're on the subject, is there a physical control that would allow you to group zones?
The scenario is you are working out to your favorite music at 6:00AM while the family is still asleep. You go to switch songs and SONOS presents you with the usual options, from a queue or other source. You hit play but nothing happens that you are aware of. No wait, you just started Highway to Hell in the Master Bedroom and yes in this case the title is very appropriate. When a zone or room drops off, can't the controller have the small amount of artificial intelligence to tell you that you are no longer controlling the same room?
I have a PLAY1 in my university halls which has worked well, even being connected to the halls wireless network (StudentCom), but someone has just been trying to play their music on it at full volume. I assume they are trying to set their own one up but it's actually controlling mine. Is there any way to put some sort of passcode or pin number on my speaker? The last question I saw on this topic was over a year ago and wondered if anything has been done since then. Many thanks
