Hi there. I'm new to sonos and bought my first speaker this past week. It's truly fantastic and I will be buying more in the not so distant future. I realize that this seems to be a very touchy issue (by my quick search of the support and community threads), but I couldn't find an answer to my particular question: Does anyone know if Sonos might be planning on developing a media player for pc? To be clear, I understand that the sonos app for pc is a remote control, not a media player. I am not looking for a "free" or "cheap" option. I am wondering if Sonos might be developing a media player that I could purchase and download. I'm also aware of the "connect and line-in" option, but if I can avoid an extra piece of hardware by purchasing some software I will do it. Real estate around my HTPC is at a real premium. I don't want to use Amazon Alexa. Is there any way to remove the red dot in More>Voice Services and the red notification badge on the More tab of the Sonos iOS apps? If so, how? They're really annoying. Sonos support says no. So they're using the app to pressure customers into signing up for Alexa even if they don't want it. To me, that's completely unacceptable. There should be a way to dismiss these.

Bottom line: is it possible to have two, or more, controllers controlling different rooms at the same time on the same WiFi network? ie: I control all rooms except “daughter.” Daughter has control of her own room with her phone but also has the ability to control all other rooms as well. Setup: Connect Amp, Boost, PLAYBAR, 5X Play1s, 2X Play5s

Hi just a quickie I hope 😃 when looking at the controller on my Laptop in the list down the right side under the heading "select a music source" should I be seeing my iphone and the music on it ? thanks and sorry if its a stupid question.

My first simple question is if two people have a controller in one household but they both have separate accounts is it possible to use one speaker? Say if I have an account set up with one speaker not in the house, and another family member has an account set up with speakers in the house, is there a way for me to switch my account quickly so that I can control music in the house?

I have 2 Play:1 speakers and have attempted to setup each one using my iPhone X & MacBook Pro. I've been completely unsuccessful due to the "Version Unconfirmed" error each time (as in each Play:1 and trying with iOS & MacOS). This couldn't be more frustrating and disappointing as someone who's very experienced in tech, but new to Sonos.

If I am playing music on Sonos from the controller on my Mac, how can I stop the music also playing on the Sonos app on my iPhone? I don’t want to run down the battery on my iPhone is I’m using my Mac to play music.

The new app is terrible to use and makes what was a simple easy to use system over complicated, is there a way of using the previous App?

I have the latest Android Sonos app (v6.3) on my BlackBerry PRIV (Android v6.0.1). When I enable the 'Allow volume control on homescreen' option, the Sonos volume control becomes the default volume that is adjusted when using the hardware volume buttons on the phone - great! But when I close the Sonos app (stop service or kill it completely), the Sonos volume sometimes remains the default volume. I have to start the app/service again and disable the 'Allow volume control on homescreen' option to regain normal volume control. Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks, -Paul

I have been using the Sonos Desktop Controller on my PC for a long time and it has always worked. Three days ago it suddenly stopped working. I have tried uninstalling the controller and re-installing new one. It continues to give me the same Windows error message. Is anyone else experiencing something similar? Solutions?

Just got a Play 1 and finally got it connected. I thought I was able to successfully add both Amazon and Pandora. However, when I try to play through Sonos I get an error message that says unable to play music check your Sonos app. I'm confused because they appear in the app but don't seem to want to play through the speaker. Any suggestions?

My UPnP server started dropping after updating to Controller App version 8.2.2 on a Windows 10 PC. The UPnP server stops playing after a few minutes and disappears from my list of music sources. I have to keep going back to Advanced Settings, then de-select and re-select the Show UPnP Servers option to bring it back. App still works otherwise and this UPnP server was working fine until the latest software update. Current system setup was also working fine and has not been modified.

Hi All. I'm trying to play my audible audiobooks on my Sonos system. I've registered them within the Mac controller and that has been accepted. Unfortunately I cannot find them in the controller. The books are held within iTunes in the iBooks section. I feel this might be the problem. Can you offer any advice?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. I have 2 widgets on a home screen. I've had my Sonos system for several years and the widgets would never disconnect from the app. But in the last 8 to 10 months or so the widgets are continuously disconnecting. I don't understand why?

Hi All, I've been trying really hard but cannot seem to find similar topics or results for my quest. I've only managed to successfully set up after about 3 full reset and about 3hours of my time last night :D Now that I've managed to set up 1 controller from my iPad, I would like to do the same for my iPhone and Mac but have not been very successful. Version Unconfirmed - There a problem confirming if your Sonos controller is up-to-date (This msg was on all 3 device, which I managed to successfully get working on iPad now.) Both other devices, when I reach the step to configure (press play/pause + Volume up) the orange blinking led does not seem to stay long enough before the next step in the sonos app. By the time Sonos finish configure, its in a white led mode. iPhone won't find Sonos on wifi via (settings > Wifi) Mac OS - goes to connecting, does not lose access to my normal wireless network and Sonos turns back to white Led, > Resulting in check light > do you see a stead

I currently have version 7.4 of the Sonos app on my Iphone 7 Plus. I want to update to version 8.0 of the Sonos Controller app. In the app, I click "Update Now" and it takes me to a screen saying "Sonos App Needs Updating." I press "Update," and I go to the Apple App store to the Sonos Controller app page. There is no opportunity to update. Instead the only button is "Open." I click "Open" and it takes me back to the Sonos app, which I already have on my Iphone. A circle. Suggestions on how step off the carousel and update my app to version 8.0? Thanks.

I have a group on Sonos at work that has 3 rooms set on it, no matter what I do the average volume of all 3 of the rooms has to be at 50%. I can't do anything to change it. All are Sonos Connects. So there are times when I have to have one room that's super loud just so I can have the other rooms somewhat quiet. I;ve searched the internet, forums, whatever you can think of and I haven't found any solutions to this issue. It does it whether I'm using an iPhone, Android, or the Windows Controller. All the rooms we have are set to Variable. And yes, it shows individual volume sliders, but the group volume has to average to be 50%, so if I change one very low, the other 2 rooms will get louder so the group stays at 50% I have submitted diagnostics and the number is 8170900.

We got two Sonos play:1 for Christmas. I loaded the Sonos app on my iPad and my fiancé’s iphone. After playing with it for a few minutes I had two different songs playing at the sane time in different rooms. That was the desired outcome but as soon as one of us changed the song both speakers automatically started playing the same song and I have not been able to make each speaker play independent of each other since. Can anyone help me figure out what I’m doing wrong?

Sonos Windows 10 app does not connect/see Brennan B2

So, I am looking at putting a Sonos speaker in my children’s bedroom. I have quite a range of Sonos products around the house and I don’t want them to have full control of the system. Is it possible to be able to give them access to just the speaker in their bedroom? Like a sub controller from their phones that can only control their speaker but my wife and I still able to control everything? TIA

I am trying to update to the latest controller (as it want let me play anything until i do) on my iMac but keep getting error code 1100. this appears to be "end of tape" how do i fix this. If i uninstall and reinstall, will i lose my link to my music on my mac from other controllers?
